TL;DR: Selectivity of the Ca 2+ + exchange increased with the increasing cross-linking density, and the corrected coefficient of selectivity (AC) was calculated from mole fractions of the cations in the exchanger and from the single-ion activities in an equilibrious solution.
Abstract: + , + , + in a highly cross-linked preparation. The ion-exchange equilibrium was characterized by the selectivity coefficient calculated from equivalent fractions of the cations in the cation exchanger and in the solution. The Ca 2+ —>K+ exchange was further characterized by the corrected coefficient of selectivity (AC), calculated from mole fractions of the cations in the exchanger and from the single-ion activities in an equilibrious solution. Selectivity of the Ca 2+ + exchange increased with the increasing cross-linking density
