Assessment of building energy consumption and environmental impact based on life cycle theory

Abstract: Life cycle assessment(LCA)is used to analyze the impacts of the building on energy consumption and environment of the society. The analysis results assist the participants to understand impacts of each stage of the construction projects on energy and environment. The energy consumption and environmental impact of a teaching building in Jiangsu province were conducted with life cycle assessment from its raw material production to the completion. The assessment results help to optimize the scheme of design,production or transportation. The research direction was also proposed to extend the life cycle evaluation methods from the view of resource and energy saving and environment protection.

Blueprint of construction project management information system based on BIM

Abstract: Under the influence of modern information technology,project management has gradually changed to the management of project information.Meanwhile,the means of traditional information communication cannot satisfy modern large-medium projects.The existing problems were summarized according to the research of project management information system and practical application.The concept,characteristics and application prospects of the building information model(BIM) were introduced.The advantages of project management information system based on BIM were analyzed.Its structure and nine modules were presented.Finally,the system operation throughout the life cycle was discussed.

Dynamic risk management in construction projects based on stakeholders and life cycle

Abstract: The construction project is involved in different stakeholders in life cycle which makes the risk dynamic. On the analysis of literature review,the paper presented a dynamic risk management system based on stakeholders and life cycle,and discussed the dynamic characteristics from both of views. The thought of construction project risk management was clarified and suggestions were proposed combining the project risk,stakeholders and life cycle.

Investment estimation for engineering construction

Abstract: With the rapid development of economic construction in China,scale and investment of construction projects have been increasing.How to estimate 11Haccurately for investment of 12 Hdesigned projects is important for 13 Hengineering construction decision.The 14 Haccuracy of 15 Hinvestment estimation is directly 16Hrelated to the 17Hconstruction scale,design and economic effects.18HThis paper mainly explored a method by combination of 19 Hfuzzy mathematics and 20 Hgrey prediction for 21 Hengineering construction investment.Firstly,the typical engineering projects are selected and the 22 Hmembership functions of 23Hcharacteristic element are established.Secondly,the weight of each 24 Hcharacteristic element is determined by 25 Hjudgment 26 Hmatrix method and 27Hsimilar projects are chosen by 28 Hcalculating 29 Hcloseness degree between 30 Htypical engineerings and 31 Hdesigned project.Finally,the investment of 32 Hdesigned projects is estimated by GM(1,1)model in grey foresting method.The case study was conducted illustrating the application.

Research on buildings health diagnosis

Abstract: In order to guide the building health diagnosis activity and to reduce the expense of building health diagnosis,the buildings information database was set up according to the human medical records in medical science.The content of building information database was designed,including basic information,problem list,SOAP progress note and attached reports.The role of the building information database was introduced as well as the process of its operation beginning from conceptual stage to decommissioning stage of the projects.Finally,the procedure of the building health diagnosis under the guidance of building information database was demonstrated.

Profit distribution model of construction supply chain

Abstract: Aiming at EPC projects,this paper analyzed defects of Shapley value method which is used to distribute profit of construction supply chain considering related factors.A profit distribution correction model for EPC engineering supply chain based on Shapley value was proposed which makes the profit distribution more reasonable.

Achievements and analysis on current China's construction industry

Abstract: The industrial pillar position of the construction industry in China has established which has six symbols. The industry was defined from the view of activity areas in construction industry,business engaged in total lifecycle that identified by home and abroad. The paper discussed the significant achievements since reform and opening-up,as well as huge investment,output vale,major construction projects and outstanding contributions by region development. The problems to be resolved were analyzed objectively,such as benefit,productivity rate,added value,capital content, wage,science and technology,personnel quality,energy resource efficiency,and safety.

The progress variance analysis model distinguishing the critical and non-critical path

Abstract: Earned value management is widely applied in project management as an effective method. The paper explored the deficiencies of progress analysis methods in traditional earned value theory,and presented a progress deviation method which distinguishes the critical and non-critical path. It analyzed the progress variance of the critical path and the non-critical path separately. Based on the construction units plan,the principle of Earned Time was introduced and a progress deviation model of the entire project was set up to calculate the progress of the project. The method enables the engineer to effectively evaluate the progress of the project and find out the source of progress deviation.

Analysis on the collusion tender problem in the construction bidding process

Abstract: Since China adopted formalized and standardized procedures of tender and bidding in the construction industry,many illegal actions have been prevented effectively. However,collusion tender,a new illegal activity,has recently emerged in many regions in China. It influences the fair competition and hampers the development in Chinese construction industry. The economic analysis on the anticipated profit for both collusion tender and accompany bidder were analyzed from the view of tender. The results show that the basic reasons of collusion tender are the system defects and the small penalty fee for the collusion bidders. The main measures for controlling the collusion tender were proposed,including increasing the cost of collusion tender, strengthening the inspection of tender and increasing the penalty fee.

Decision making of types of general contractors in alternative projects

Abstract: When a general contract project invites bidding,it faces three types of candidates. The types should be determined before bidding documents and evaluation criterions are work out. An evaluation index system was set up on the analysis of the characteristics of general contract project,procedure of bidding,and the characters of designer,construction enterprises and alliance. A hybrid double multiple attribute decision model for alternative projects was presented. The model was conducted by integrating fuzzy evaluation and Topsis. The weights distribution of each target by owner and the influence of change of β on the results were analyzed. The research results were validated by the data.

Building energy saving alternatives selection based on value engineering

Abstract: With the growing of the energy crisis,building energy saving have been put on the agenda. It is more and more important to select suitable material and technology of building energy saving in the cost limitation. The building energy saving alternatives needs comparing to choose the optimal one in economy,environment and social benefit. From the view of building energy saving alternatives’ comprehensive benefits,a comprehensive assessment system was set up. The weights of indicators were identified using analytical hierarchy process. The value engineering was introduced to select the optimal building energy saving alternative from the life-cycle perspective.

Public housing project based on PPP pattern

Abstract: Public housing construction is one of the essential means for the government to achieve equality goal in the field of housing.However,due to its attributes of social welfare,it is facing with the plight of funding shortage as well as lack of sustainable development ability.The public private partnership(PPP)generally applied in infrastructure construction was introduced to the field of public housing.The internal and external conditions of public housing projects based on PPP pattern were analyzed in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the study.The specific operating modes according to the characters of affordable housing and cheap renting housing were investigated and the operation mechanism which guarantees efficient cooperation was discussed to promote the development of public housing construction.

Abstract: The issue of type selection of construction contract has been studied on engineering fields while less were researched in economics for further discussion. It is necessary to analyze social economics issues in the condition of social development influenced by economical theories. Based on theories of transaction cost,this paper drew the conclusions after the annotation for these theories and analysis of the connection between different types of contracts.

Abstract: Today,knowledge management system is one of the research focuses. It is essential to choose a suitable knowledge representation method for a knowledge management system. In the construction field,because of the complexity of case knowledge,knowledge representation for construction project cases is difficult. This paper proposed an effective representation method using the characteristic of framework which can represent the structural knowledge. The hierarchy between project cases knowledge was represented by inheritance. A two-layer framework was established for the project case knowledge.

Abstract: The structure and mechanism of transaction cost in construction business system were analyzed from two views of transaction rules and mode based on economics research results mainly through an analytical instrument of the transaction cost economics for the purpose of reducing the transaction cost. The innovation ways of construction business system were put forward,including the improvement of the construction laws and regulations,the development of engineering insurance and engineering guarantee system,the establishment of construction market access system and quality system certification system, the design or choose of the transaction mode,as well as the transaction contract.

Safety investment of construction enterprises based on gray system relevancy analysis

Abstract: This paper analyzed the current situation and reasons of construction safety production in China,and pointed out the unreasonable safety investment is one of the major factors causing construction accidents. Based on the conception of safety investment and its formation,the gray relation model for safety investment was established using gray relation analysis theory to evaluate the relational degree of the safety system. The major factors which influence safety investment structure were found out to be as the preferred investment direction. This method provides theoretical basis for safety investment decision making of construction enterprises.

Abstract: Bill of quantity pricing mode has been widely used in current projects,and the unit price is the most important part of the bill of quantity pricing mode.The method of identifying a reasonable and accurate unit price is the key issue that the bidders need to resolve.The construction of unit price was analyzed and the risk factors were outlined.The basic method of risk quantitative analysis included in unit price was presented.The influence of unbalanced pricing strategy taken by bidders to unit price was considered.The references were put forward to determine unit price which helps to improve the overall level of biding.
