Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of adsorbent surface change, initial pH, initial dye concentration, adsorbents mass and contact time on dye removal have been determined, which indicated that PCSD and PCSDC could be employed as low-cost alternatives in wastewater treatment for the removal of dyes.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the adsorption mechanism of three reactive azo dyes (Reactive Black 5, Red 239 and Yellow 176) by two natural mezoporous minerals has been examined in order to identify the ability of these minerals to remove coloured textile dyes from wastewaters.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The degradation of Disperse Red 354 azo dye in water was investigated in laboratory-scale experiments, using four advanced oxidation processes (AOPs): ozonation, Fenton, UV/H2O2, and photo-Fenton as discussed by the authors.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of presence of inorganic salts namely, sodium chloride and sodium sulphate and their concentration on decolouration of acid dye effluents by ozonation was examined.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The results illustrate that the dye additives/impurities in commercial dyes affect the microbial activity as well as the biodegradability and it is recommended that dyes should be purified before ozonation, if detailed information on the degradation processes and the resulting oxidation by-products are required.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, central composite design experiment is used to study the effect of ozone treatment for acid dye effluents and to optimise the variables such as salt concentration, pH and time, which influence the efficiency of colour and COD removal of dye.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, an attempt has been made to remove color from wastewater containing congo red (a toxic cationic dye) by surfactant mediated cloud point extraction (CPE) in batch mode using Triton X-100 (TX-100) as non-ionic surfactants.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, six new organic pigments were synthesized and evaluated as the active medium of the solid-state dye laser, and the issues evaluated were: (1) whether the pigments can oscillate as laser medium or not; and (2) degradation by exposure to UV light.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the application of electrochemical reduction of several vat dyes and even mixtures of them on a fixed bed cathode consisting of graphite granules has been investigated by spectrophotometric experiments in a laboratory scale pilot plant.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, a series of hetaryl-2-aminothiophenes derivatives with diazotized 4-nitro-aniline, 5-nitrogen-2 -aminothiazole and 6-nitronobenzothiazoles components were synthesized by coupling reaction of 4-aryl 2 -amphosphorus derivatives.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The synthesis of 2-amino-4-(p-substituted)phenyl-thiazole derivatives has been carried out by treatment of substituted acetophenones with thiourea and iodide as catalyst as mentioned in this paper.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the anionic agent was found to be covalently bonded to the cellulosic substrates by virtue of the covalent nature of its attachment to the fibers and also gave anionic sites to the substrate for electrostatic interaction with cationic Berberine.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, aryl amines were coupled with 2-aminothiazoles to give the corresponding thiazolylazo dyes, which were applied to polyester fabric as disperse dyes and their fastness properties were evaluated.
