TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper found that corporates tend to crowd out their investment in environmental conservation when local governments are under high pressure to address growth targets, and evidence shows that corporate environmental investment decreases given that competition on economic growth target drives local officials to relax environmental regulation intensity, especially for cities with high-promotion-incentives officials.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigate the influence mechanism of incentive and mandatory environmental regulations on energy efficiency and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the logistics industry and find that incentive environmental regulations make a greater contribution to CO2 emission reduction in Ningxia, Qinghai, and Hainan provinces, due to their more aggressive levy of pollution fees.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , a dynamic spatial panel model is employed to test the effects of the policy, the mechanisms of action and the channels of two sorts of environmental regulations on GTFP.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , a non-cooperative tripartite evolutionary game is employed to model the dynamic strategy interactions among local governments, polluting enterprises, and the public for participatory governance.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the potential transmission role of industrial upgrading in the effect of participating in global value chains (GVCs) on carbon emissions and provided a reference for governments of developing countries to effectively participate in the division and cooperation of production, conduct industrial upgrading, and reduce pollution emissions.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 1997 to 2017, combining with the carbon emission accounting formula, Theil index method and convergence model, to analyze the spatiotemporal heterogeneity, convergence and its impact factors of carbon emission intensity (CEI) and carbon emission per capita (CEPC) of planting industry considering carbon sink effect.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Based on the panel data of 30 provincial regions in China from 2000 to 2019, the authors uses the spatial Durbin model to perform a spatial econometric investigation on the impact of population migration on energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the structural paths and sensitivity of construction CO2 emissions in China, India, Japan, Russia, and USA were assessed by applying the multi-regional structural path analysis model and sensitivity analysis model, respectively.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Zhang et al. as discussed by the authors evaluated the effect of China's EC construction by the target correlation and system coupling aspects from national five-year plan and EC connotation of China perspectives.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , a two-stage DEA model is used to construct indicators to measure Chinese 30 provinces mining technological innovation efficiency (MTIE), mining eco-efficiency (MEE), and mining comprehensive efficiency (MCE).

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , an urban sprawl model was developed for quantifying US from remotely sensed nighttime light data, and the degree of EUC were then verified in different city sizes, stages, and regions.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , the authors explored researchers' perspectives on the main strengths and weaknesses of EIA so they may advance recommendations to improve the quality and effectiveness of environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedures for more sustainable outcomes.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the impact of China's Western Development Strategy (WDS) on energy conservation and emission reduction in terms of financial development, infrastructure supply, and marketization level.

Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article , a conceptual framework and corresponding evaluation index system composed of agricultural production, rural environment, and farmers' well-being was introduced to measure the three dimensions of sustainable agriculture and rural development and their coupling coordination in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) region, a region containing a highly developed urban agglomeration with a surrounding poverty belt.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors analyzed the 3D spatio-temporal dynamic evolution characteristics of PM2.5 concentrations in China based on pixel and urban-scale data from 2000 to 2019 and using emerging spatial and temporal hot spots.
