TL;DR: Borgatti, S. P., Everett, M. G. and Johnson, J. C as mentioned in this paper made their practical guide about analyzing social networks available for researchers working on social media.
Abstract: The raise of social networks in the last decades in various fields has called upon the need for their analysis. This phenomenon gave birth to Social Network Analysis (SNA) in the 1970s. Parallel to this quick development and the increasing need for such a methodology to analyze social networks, researchers developed a number of software for SNA. For these reasons, the authors of the present book (Borgatti, S. P., Everett, M. G. & Johnson, J. C.) made their practical guide about analyzing social networks available for researchers working on social media. Many details about data collection, analysis and interpretation are provided mainly by using the UCINET and NetDraw software designed for SNA.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered a sample of 450 respondents from Klang Valley using a non-probability sampling and found that cost benefits, service delivery, convenience, friends/relatives influence do have significant relationships with the acceptance of Islamic Banking.
Abstract: Generally, this study offers a descriptive discussion of the acceptance of Islamic Banking but a special focus is on the factors that determine acceptance of Islamic Banking. This considers a sample of 450 respondents from Klang Valley using a non-probability sampling. This study widely uses nominal and ordinal measurement scales and thus, a non-parametric approach is adopted for statistical testing. The results indicate that cost-benefits, service delivery, convenience, friends/relatives’ influence do have significant relationships with the acceptance of Islamic Banking.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated rainfall and temperature variabilities in Nigeria using observations of air temperature (oC) and rainfall (mm) from 25 synoptic stations from 1971-2000 (30 years).
Abstract: This study investigates rainfall and temperature variabilities in Nigeria using observations of air temperature (oC) and rainfall (mm) from 25 synoptic stations from 1971-2000 (30years). The data were analyzed for the occurrences of abrupt changes in temperature and rainfall values over Nigeria while temporal and spatial trends were also investigated. Statistical approach was deployed to determine the confidence levels, coefficients of kurtosis, skewness and coefficient of variations. Analysis of air temperature indicated that in the first decade of 1971-1980 anomalies between -0.2 and -1.6 were predominant, in the second decade of 1981-1990, only five stations (Lokoja, Kaduna, Bida, Bauchi and Warri) shows positive anomaly while greater portion of the country were normal with evidence of warming in the third decade of 1991-2000. Results further indicated that there have been statistically significant increases in precipitation and air temperature in vast majority of the country. Analyses of long time trends and decadal trends in the time series further suggest a sequence of alternately decreasing and increasing trends in mean annual precipitation and air temperature in Nigeria during the study period.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the determinants of foreign direct investment in Nigeria and found that the market size of the host country, deregulation, political instability, and exchange rate depreciation are the main determinants for FDI in Nigeria.
Abstract: The role of foreign direct investment in the development of Nigerian economy cannot be over emphasized. Foreign direct investment provides capital for investment, it enhances job creation and managerial skills, and possibly technology transfer. This paper investigates the determinants of foreign direct investment in Nigeria. The error correction technique was employed to analyze the relationship between foreign direct investment and its determinants. The results reveal that the market size of the host country, deregulation, political instability, and exchange rate depreciation are the main determinants of foreign direct investment in Nigeria. The authors recommend the following policies among others: expansion of the country's GDP via production incentives; further deregulation of the economy through privatization and reduction of government interference in economic activities; strengthening of the political institutions to sustain the ongoing democratic process; gradual depreciation of the exchange rate; and increased investment in the development of the nation's infrastructure.
