TL;DR: The author, who has done consulting work on his own and as a member of consulting firms for more than a decade, analyzes the sometimes uneasy relationship between consultant and client.
Abstract: Do we need a management consultant? When we seek a consulting firm, what characteristics and qualities should we look for? What size? How will we know its fee is fair? These are questions that too few potential clients ask of themselves, the author of this article asserts. If they ask the questions, he says, they often fail to dig deeply enough to obtain the right answers. The author, who has done consulting work on his own and as a member of consulting firms for more than a decade, also analyzes the sometimes uneasy relationship between consultant and client.
