Abstract: In this project we have made fly ash cement bricks with variations in its percentage of composition. The project describes the use of local fly ash in construction industry in a way to minimize the industrial waste. The aim of this project is to find that percentage of composition by weight of fly ash cement brick which will provide it better strength without much increase in the percentage of cement. We have made five types of fly ash cement bricks. In three types sand percentage is taken as 30%, while percentages of fly ash and cement have being changed by 5%. And in others percentage of fly ash is taken 60% with sand and cement having variation in their percentage by weight of the brick. The fly ash used is taken from the NTPC, sipat (C.G.). Using fly ash gives technical and economical advantage. As Fly ash is pozzolanic in nature, it increases the strength of the brick and it is a waste material of thermal power plant so using it in making the brick reduces the cost of the brick. Sand used has larger size particles compare to fly ash, it reduce the shrinkage of brick, providing volume stability. Cement is used as the binding material to bind the sand and fly ash together. In the compressive strength test performed, the strength of TYPE3 (55% fly ash, 30% sand and 15% cement) brick was 4.405 N/mm 2 , which was the highest, followed by TYPE5 (60% fly ash, 25% sand and 15% cement) brick with strength 3.926 N/mm 2 . In this project all the types of brick have got percentage water absorption less than 15%, which is acceptable as per IS:3495.

Abstract: Supply chain management (SCM) is an important component of competitive strategy to enhance organizational productivity and profitability. Performance measurement have a major role in setting objective, evaluate own performance and to find actions for future. The performance measurement on supply chain is an appraisal on the performance including overall operation level, the node enterprises in the supply chain, the cooperation relationship between the node enterprises, etc. The role of these measures in development and success of an industry or organization can be seen as these measure effect strategic, planning and control of these organizations. This report present evolution of performance measures used in supply chain models and also present the process for selection of performance measurement systems for supply chain. Different types of performance measure are in use as per the supply chain performance measurement system.

Abstract: In this paper, effect of brackish water depth and wick material on the performance of modified basin type double slope multi-wick solar still (MBDSMS) has been studied at MNNIT, Allahabad, U.P., India. Modifications made in the conventional Multi-wick solar still leads to significant increase in the heat input, yield obtained and overall efficiency of the modified design. Total yield obtained shows increase with decrease in the depth of brackish water and black cotton as wick material is found to be more effective in comparision to jute wick.

Abstract: There is major demand to introduce cloud computing in many organizations today. The reason is cloud’s sharing infrastructure, multi-tenancy and huge storage facilities ensures increase in computing efficiency, flexibility, generality and cost effectiveness. But with this, organizations want that the computing platform should be secured and should satisfy all the important rules and regulations. So security is the key point for the success of cloud computing. It is examined that cloud computing is less satisfactory in providing security due to its heterogeneity. In this paper a solution named - Decentralized Information Flow Control (DIFC) is defined to solve the problem of security specifically of Software as a Service (SaaS) level. DIFC is a Mandatory Access Control method which is able to provide better security and integrity than is provided by other approaches available today. DIFC enforce general policies by using proper labeling and checking methods. DIFC gives a way to control and monitor the flow of data continuously according to the policy. Hence we believe that DIFC is a powerful tool to enhance SaaS cloud security and to help cloud providers to satisfy rules and regulations and audit this compliance with easy in future.

Abstract: Nowadays technology plays a major role in healthcare not only for sensory devices but also in recording and display device and also in communication. It’s important to monitor various medical parameters and post operational days. Hence the latest trend using IOT in Healthcare communication method is adapted. Internet of things serves as a catalyst and plays major role in wide range of healthcare applications. In this project the ATMEGA8 microcontroller is used to communicate to the various sensors such as temperature sensor and pulseoximeter sensor. Microcontroller picks up the sensor data and sends it to the webpage and hence provides real time monitoring of the health care parameters for doctors and data can be accessed anytime by the doctor. Controller is also connected with buzzer to alert the caretaker about variation in sensor output. The major issue in remote patient monitoring system is that the data as to be securely transmitted to the destination end and provision is made to access the data is allowed only for authorized user. The security issue is been addressed by transmitting the data through the Keyword which will be encrypted by standard Msg91 and the users/doctor can access the data by logging to the html webpage. During the time of extremity situation through GSM module connected to the controller, alert message is sent to the doctor. Hence provisional medication can be done by this system and it is efficient with low power consumption capability, high performance and time to time response.

Abstract: The series of corporate failures due to mis-governance and subsequent regulatory changes brought corporate governance into limelight. The corporate board of directors assists in corporate governance by supervising executive management and makes strategic decisions for the company. The board is generally supposed to govern the corporation on behalf of the shareholders, effectively acting as trustees for stockholder interests. Directors are elected by shareholders, and may even be shareholders or company employees themselves. The Board of Directors can play an important role in making sure that an outward looking approach – including transparency, integrity, and win-win relationship – is valued within a company and that these values are flourished at the company-wide perspective. Board members also have a responsibility to ensure that appropriate risk management systems are in place. The roles and responsibilities of a Board of Directors vary, depending on the nature and type of business entity and the laws applying to the entity. Similarly, the establishment of board committees is a means to channel the functions of a board into segregated and specialized groups of directors that focus on specific subject of the organization. In this paper an attempt is made to review the working of Corporate Governance so far as the structure, size, composition and the functioning of Corporate Governance is concerned. Moreover, it also evaluate the role of various board committees viz., audit committee, compensation committee etc to ensure good Corporate Governance in the Indian Corporate.

Abstract: This study aims to determine the factors that influence Individual Intentions to accept The Accounting Information System (AIS) based Information Technology (IT) by examine effect of Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Subjective Norm, Perceived Behavior Control, Personal Innovativeness in IT, Task Technology Fit, and Self Efficacy to Behavior Intention in Acceptance of AIS based IT. This Research Model is formed by combining the relevant constructs from Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT), Task Technology Fit (TTF) dan Self Efficacy Theory (SET). Survey was conducted to the users of AIS based IT that involved in handling Saving – Loan Transactions throughout The Village Credit Institutions (that’s called LPD) in The Badung Regency, Bali–Indonesia, by using questionnaires. Total Respondents were 316 users of AIS based IT in 82 LPD Offices. Data Analysis is conducted by Partial Least Square Statistical Method. Perceived Usefulness, Subjective Norm, Task Technology Fit and Self Efficacy empirically proved influence on Behavior Intention which Task Technology Fit is the strongest construct influential. Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Behavior Control and Personal Innovativeness in IT has no effect on Behavior Intention.

Abstract: The continuous changes and improvements in the financial world created by sophisticated and increased variety of financial products, and diversity in financial services make it essential for individuals to constantly obtain new information and exhibit desirable financial behaviors for financial satisfaction in order to respond to this financial environment. The current study examines the impacts of financial behavior, financial knowledge, and selected demographic variables on financial satisfaction. The study sample consists of academic and administrative staff of a major state university in Turkey (n=596). Data was analyzed using binary logistic regression analysis. The regression analysis results showed that positive financial behaviors and financial knowledge contribute to financial satisfaction. The only demographic variable that has a significant impact on financial satisfaction was income.

The science of metagenomics make it possible to investigate resource for the development of novel genes, enzymes and chemical compounds for use in biotechnology. Metagenomic libraries are, indeed, an essential tool for the discovery of new enzymatic activities, facilitating genetic tracking for all biotechnological applications of interest for the future. This review will explore the origins of metagenomics and examine its recent application to microbial ecology and biotechnology.

Abstract: This project presents the overall design of Home Automation System (HAS) with low cost and wireless/voice command remote control. This system is designed to assist and provide support in order to fulfil the needs of people. Also, the smart home concept in the system improves the standard living at home. The main control system implements wireless/voice command technology to provide remote access from smart phone. The design remains the existing electrical switches and provides more safety control on the switches with low voltage activating method. The switches status is synchronized in all the control system whereby every user interface indicates the real time existing switches status. The system intended to control electrical appliances and devices in house with relatively low cost design, user-friendly interface and ease of installation.

Abstract: The mobile phone market has beheld a rapid industrial development over the past few years. Yet, there are still some defects and lack of research activities in development process of the mobile apps. There still remains some deficit in the development criterions and implementing the best policies which signify the mobile device for some probable attacks. These deficiencies need to be analysed carefully and additional effort is required. Abstract: —In the motor systems driven by sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) three-phase inverters, the peaks of common-mode (CM) voltage are so high that it will cause many negative effects. In this paper, a hybrid filter is presented to reduce the CM voltage (CMV) and the differential- mode (DM) harmonics in a three-phase inverter with carrier peak position modulation (CPPM). Because the use of CPPM strategy in the inverter can ensure that the output CMV will be only two levels in any condition, the simple active CM filter (composed of a half-bridge circuit) in the hybrid filter can effectively suppress the output CMV and CM current. The passive filter in the hybrid filter consists of an added single tuned filter and the original DM low-pass filter. The single tuned filter is designed to lower the DM harmonics, which are aggravated by the CPPM strategy in the carrier frequency band. Through the experiments, the validity of CMV and DM harmonics suppression by the hybrid filter in the three-phase inverter is verified and the calculation-control active CM filter is proved to be the best in the optional schemes.

Abstract: : This paper reports the exploratory study on the suitability of the cockle shells as partial replacement for in concrete. In developing countries where concrete is widely used, the high and steadily increasing cost of concrete has made construction very expensive. The high cost of conventional building materials is a major factor affecting housing delivery in world. This has necessitated research into alternative materials of construction and analyzing tensile and compressive strength characteristics of concrete produced using by sea shells as substitutes for conventional coarse aggregate with partial replacement using M20 grade concrete. The main objective is to encourage the use of these products as construction materials in low-cost building. In this research work experiments have been conducted with collection of materials required and the data required for mix design are obtained by sieve analysis and specific gravity test. Sieve analysis is carried out from various fine aggregates (FA) and coarse aggregates (CA) samples and the sample which suits the requirement is selected. Specific gravity tests are carried out for fine and coarse aggregate. In this project, cement is partial replacement with lime powder of about 10%, 20%, 30% .The coarse aggregate is partial replacement with 10 %, 20%, and 30% by sea shell. The water cement ratio is maintained for this mix design is 0.5. Results show that replacement of appropriate cockle shell content able to produce workable concrete with satisfactory strength. Integration of 20% cockle shell enhanced the strength of concrete making it to be the highest as compared to any other replacement level.

Abstract: In the ever evolving pharmaceutical landscape with extended timelines and huge costs associated with clinical trials, it has prompted a new application on improving the operational efficiency of clinical trials. The goal is to access real-time data from Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and various other clinical data systems in order to improve analytical decision-making during conduct of a clinical trial. However, current clinical systems (CTMS and others) are not able to satisfy the possibilities due to various shortcomings like incapability of real time data reporting and actionable dashboard visualization for an organization. To overcome these shortcomings of healthcare systems, clinical study managers can apply a business intelligence (BI) platform to create Analytical Reporting (AR) for trending clinical data and query. This paper proposes the usage of multiples business intelligence platforms for AR that’s supports data based meaningful decision making ability throughout clinical study design, conduct and final analysis and reporting during clinical trials.

Abstract: Electronic tax system is a computerized tax administration system that is especially designed to handle general tax administration from registration, assessment, filing returns and processing of claims and refunds. Its intended purpose is to reduce the cost of the tax payer complying with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), increase tax collection and remove the inefficiencies associated with costs of movement by tax payers to KRA offices to do business and present to tax payers a system that reduces their cost of compliance. This study therefore set out to investigate the effect of the electronic tax system on revenue collection efficiency of Kenya Revenue Authority at Uasin Gishu County. The study was guided by the following objectives; to establish the effects of electronic tax payment on revenue collection efficiency by KRA in Uasin Gishu County, to find out the effect of electronic tax filing on revenue collection efficiency of Kenya Revenue Authority in Uasin Gishu County and to establish the challenges facing the use of electronic tax system and give possible recommendations. The study employed a case study research design of KRA Uasin Gishu County. The main data collection tools were questionnaires that were administered to the respondents. The study targeted a population of 102 respondents who included employees of KRA and tax payers. Data from the field was analyzed using SPSS that included use of descriptive & inferential statistics. The key findings were that most respondents agreed that KRA has good electronic tax payment System and that for the KRA officials; most of them are conversant with its use and are trained. However, most tax payers indicated difficulty in using the system and blamed lack of computer knowledge, poor internet and unstable power supply as major reasons. This however does not deter them from paying their taxes and filing them because however hard it is, they do beat deadlines to do so. One of the major reasons why tax payers found it difficult to use the electronic tax system is because they like last minute rush when deadlines are approaching therefore congestion g the systems a fact that can lead to a break down. Conclusions included that Kenya Revenue Authority has the best electronic tax system; most officials at the research area are sufficiently trained and updated about the system and that revenue collection activities including tax payment, registration, returns and filing have improved since the inception of the system. Moreover, most tax payers are still finding it difficult using the electronic system in terms of accessibility, internet connections, lack of computer knowledge and poor power supply systems. These are the areas where the researcher recommends improvement in addition to comprehensive civic education of the public. First the findings of the study will be very useful to government for it will be to know how much and far has the introduction of electronic tax system has affected the revenue collection by its tax man. The study is expected to be of help to Kenya Revenue Authority policy makers in identifying the key challenges involved in converting to Electronic tax system from the former manual system and coming up with strategies that will lead to improved performance. The study will also be helpful to future researchers who will use this study as a source of reference.

Abstract: Recognizing the critical role of agriculture in development, this study estimates changes in state-level agricultural TFP for 1983-2006 using non-parametric Sequential Malmquist TFP index and decomposes TFP change into technical efficiency change and technical change. Productivity improvements and technical change are found to be marked in very few states of India. Efficiency improvements are observed to be low for most of the states; efficiency decline observed in several states implies huge production gains are possible even with existing technology. To improve TFP, it is imperative to increase efficiency levels as well as achieve a more even spread of better technology.

Abstract: In this paper, we proposed an Implementing Intelligent Traffic Control for Congestion, Ambulance clearance, and Stolen Vehicle Detection. This system was implemented based on present criteria that tracking three conditions in those one is heavy traffic control and another one is making a root of emergency vehicle like ambulance and VIP vehicle. In this paper we are going to implement a sensor network work which is used to detect the traffic density and also use RFID reader and tags. We use ARM7 system-on-chip to read the RFID tags attached to the vehicles. It counts number of vehicles that passes on a particular path during a specified duration. If the RFID tag read belongs to the stolen vehicles. GSM SIM300 used for message send to the police control room. In addition, when an ambulance approaching the junction, it will communicate the traffic controller in the junction to turn on the green light. This module uses Zigbee modules on CC2500.

Abstract: Pharmaceutical and software development programs have major similarity. They are highly multifaceted, rely on multidisciplinary functions and usually take longer development cycle with big budget portfolios. In addition, they are often judged based on the quality factors such as reliability, safety, value, capability efficiency and compliance [5]. Both software and drug development teams aims to produce compliant, efficacious, safe, effective, and commercially viable products, they take very different approaches to development, with pharma using the “waterfall” approach, and software, agile approaches [11]. This paper reviews current approaches in software development, and asks whether they might prove useful in drug development.

Abstract: Even with all the advances in information technology that are available to managers, ineffective communication continues to take place in organizations. Ineffective communication is detrimental for managers, employees and organizations since it can lead to poor performance, strained interpersonal relations, poor service and dissatisfied customers. The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of communication on employee performance in the context of the Kenya Power and Electric Company, South Nyanza Region. The study objectives were narrowed down to three, that is: To establish the effects of downward communication on employee performance, to establish the effects of upward communication on employee performance and to establish the effects of horizontal communication on employee performance at Kenya Power Electric and Lighting Company South Nyanza Region. The population under study was 256 employees who were currently working at the South Nyanza Region but the researcher only targeted 30% of this since the number was large. The sampling technique was stratified random sampling so as to improve on precision and representativeness of the whole population. Data was collected by the use of questionnaires which were availed to the sample population. Data from the proposed research was coded, processed and analyzed using computer based Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings were summarized in tables and graphs. It was found that downward communication is appreciated by KPLC thus information is timely, enhancing performance. Respondents also acknowledged that through upward communication the management gets feedback on performance and employees are able to raise complaints to the management hence enhancing performance. Lateral communication was also found to be essential since it enables interactions within departments, team building and proper work coordination. The research concluded that effective communication can enhance employee performance and recommended that strong communication systems should be emphasized in the region to ensure effectiveness of communication. More research is needed on how employees form their perceptions on communication satisfaction, whether the employee job satisfaction depends on the gender of a superior or a subordinate: or whether the perception of managerial communication competence depends on the gender of the superior on the subordinate.

Abstract: In this paper we develop a method for proposing new lifetime distribution which is parsimonious in parameter and also adds more flexibility in baseline distribution. Here one parameter exponential distribution has been taken here as baseline distribution. Here also derive the shape of the distribution mathematically, stochastic ordering and various statistical properties of like moments, conditional moments, mean deviation about mean and median, quantile, moment generating function, characteristics function, cumulant generating function, entropies and order statistics have been discussed. The method of moments and maximum likelihood estimation are used to obtain the estimate of the unknown parameter. At last, a real data set has been analyzed to show how the proposed models utilize in the practical situation.

Abstract: Feature selection has become elementary tool for processing high dimensional data. DNA microarray technology is used for the study of large number of genes simultaneously, which helps in determining the expression levels of the genes. Gene selection using high dimensional gene expression data is foremost and imperative for prediction and classification of disease. This gene expression data can be shown in the form of matrix and usually contains irrelevant, redundant and noisy data, so the study and analysis of data becomes very problematic. The prime purpose of feature selection approaches is to remove the curse of dimensionality, improve the performance and accuracy of classification and clustering algorithms by the elimination of these irrelevant features and reduction of noise. This paper explains the taxonomy of feature selection methods stating their respective pros and cons. It also presents a review on few feature selection approaches, mainly those that have been proposed over the past few years.

Abstract: Plants in nature are continuously exposed to several biotic and abiotic stresses. Among these stresses, drought stress is one of the most adverse factors of plant growth and productivity and considered a severe threat for sustainable crop production in the conditions on changing climate. Drought triggers a wide variety of plant responses, ranging from cellular metabolism to changes in growth rates and crop yields. Understanding the biochemical and molecular responses to drought is essential for a holistic perception of plant resistance mechanisms to water-limited conditions. This review describes some aspects of drought induced changes in morphological, physiological and biochemical changes in plants. Drought stress progressively decreases CO2 assimilation rates due to reduced stomatal conductance. It reduces leaf size, stems extension and root proliferation, disturbs plant water relations and reduces water-use efficiency. It disrupts photosynthetic pigments and reduces the gas exchange leading to a reduction in plant growth and productivity. The critical roles of osmolyte accumulation under drought stress conditions have been actively researched to understand the tolerance of plants to dehydration. In addition, drought stress-induced generation of active oxygen species is well recognized at the cellular level and is tightly controlled at both the production and consumption levels, through increased antioxidative systems. This review focuses on the ability and strategies of higher plants to respond and adapt to drought stress.

Abstract: In today’s world the security of the nation is depends on the enemies warfare and so the safety of the soldiers is considered as important role in it. Concerning the soldiers safety there are many instruments to view their health status. In soldiers security, bio-sensors systems gives different types of small physiological sensors, Biomedical sensor, transmission modules and processing capabilities and can thus facilitate low-cost wearable unobtrusive solutions for health monitoring. GPS used to log the longitude and latitude so that direction can be known easily. These devices are being added to firearms, and militaries where possibility of embedding GPS devices into soldiers vests and uniforms so that field commanders can track their soldier’s movements in real time.GSM module can be used for effective range of high-speed transmission, and soldier-to-soldier wireless communications that will be required to relay information on situational awareness, tactical instructions, and covert surveillance related data during special operations reconnaissance and other missions. So by using these equipment’s we are trying to implement the basic life guarding system for soldier in low cost and high reliability.
