TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the correlation between personal growth initiatives, psychological distress, and psychological well-being among adolescents and found that adolescents who are high in personal growth initiative and psychological wellbeing experience less mental health issues.
Abstract: This study investigates the correlation between personal growth initiatives, psychological distress, and psychological well-being among adolescents. It was assumed that personal growth initiative is significantly associated with psychological well-being, and negatively associated with psychological distress among adolescents. A study consists of 150 (75 males and 75 females) college students of Karachi, Pakistan. A Personal Growth Initiative Scale (Robitschek, 1998); Ryffs Scales of Psychological Well-Being (RPWB; Ryff, 1995);P Kessler, 1996) were administered. For all statistical analysts, Spearmen's rho was calculated to assess the association among personal growth initiatives, psychological well-being and psychological distress. The findings of the study suggest that personal growth initiative ts positively associated with psychological well-being and negatively associated with psychological distress among adolescents. Furthermore, adolescents who are high in personal growth initiative and psychological well-being experience less mental health issues.

TL;DR: A positive school climate can help solve a lot of problems, such as absenteeism, suspensions, and bullying, and increase students' academic achievement, motivation to learn, and psychological well-being as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: School climate has often been described as the "quality and character of school life", including both social and physical aspects of the school, that can positively promote behavior, school achievement, and the social and emotional development of students. Positive education has been defined as "education for both traditional skills and for happiness" (Seligman et al., 2009). A broader and more useful definition is "applied positive psychology in education". Positive psychology itself has been defined as an umbrella term encompassing theory and research in relation to what makes life worth living (Noble & McGrath, 2008). Positive psychology is extremely relevant to the school setting to assist in the understanding and development of high levels of psychological well being in students, staff and school. Researchers have found that a positive school climate can help solve a lot of problems. Studies find that it decreases absenteeism, suspensions, and bullying, and increases students' academic achievement, motivation to learn, and psychological well-being. It can even mitigate the negative effects of self-cnticism and socioeconomic status on academic success. In addition, working in this kind of climate lessens teacher burnout while increasing retention. The education policy framers in India need to pay heed to positive education, which is being successfully applied in progressive educational institutions of the world.

TL;DR: In this paper, a study aimed at assessing attitude of parents towards the education and schooling of their children was carried out and the results showed that the overall attitude of the respondents was moderately favorable and positive towards schooling and education of children.
Abstract: The present study was aimed at assessing attitude of parents towards the education and schooling of their children. The study analyzed the data from 145 parents, who had one or more than one school going children. Out of these, 116 parents belonged to tribal families and 29 families belonged to non-tribal families. The age range of the sample was 25-35 years, and they all belonged to Santoshpur village of Sundargarh district consisting largely of tribal population. A 23-item questionnaire was used for collecting data along with personal interview. The respondents were required to indicate their agreement or disagreement with each of the statements about children's education in a four-point Likert type scale, where 1 denotes strong disagreement and 4 denotes strong agreement. Mean scores were calculated separately for tribal and non-tribal samples, and for male and female respondents. The't' test was used to examine the significance of difference between tribal and non-tribal communities as well as across gender with regard to their attitude towards children's schooling and education. The findings showed that the overall attitude of the respondents was moderately favorable and positive towards schooling and education of their children. The results also indicated that there was no significant difference in the attitude of tribal and non- tribal parents. Gender difference was also found to be non-significant. The difference between tribal and non-tribal respondents was evident in their future plans to provide facilities for higher studies for their children. The study suggested that, although government endeavors at universalizing education has resulted in creating mass awareness and positive response towards schooling and education, there is a lot of scope for improvement in this regard. Future implications of the present study for policy formulation as well as for further research were pointed out.
