Abstract: This work analyzes the open access model adopted by Argentine scientific journals with international circulation from Pierre Bourdieu’s field theory. To achieve this, the set of Argentine scientific journals published in April of 2015 that were available in Latindex Catalogo, Nucleo Basico de Revistas Cientificas Argentinas and in the indexing services of DOAJ, Redalyc, Dialnet, SciELO Argentina, Scopus, and Web of Science Core Collection was collected, to establish the subset of open access journals with international circulatios ad hoc were applied. The open access model implemented corresponded to the highest gradation: open and free to readers, without temporary embargoes, without author publication fees and and without retention of reproduction rights. Although the model is highly inclusive, the low participation of the economic field in the productive-scientific-editorial environment results in the lack of funding of the journals and in the exclusion of the publishing field. Changing the current scenario would require not only state agencies to recognize the existence of the problem, but that groups become social actors that can integrate and challenge the various dimensions of the problem to be able to dispute the resources and political actions necessary to address it.

Abstract: El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar como afecta el cambio tecnologico a la industria editorial espanola y como esta se va adaptando al nuevo entorno digital. En el trabajo se ofrece una vision general de cual es la situacion del sector editorial en Espana a traves de la recopilacion de datos procedentes, principalmente, de fuentes de informacion secundaria, tanto publica como privada, desde el ano 1996 hasta el 2017, lo que ha supuesto revisar una gran cantidad de documentos de diferentes procedencias y agrupar los datos obtenidos, generando una serie temporal que permite vislumbrar cual es el estado y la evolucion de la digitalizacion en la industria editorial espanola en estos casi veinte anos. En este documento se hace referencia a los nuevos modelos de negocio que surgen como consecuencia de la digitalizacion, para finalmente cerrar con unas conclusiones y limitaciones del trabajo. Este trabajo no deja sino de ser una muestra del pasado, presente y futuro de la industria del libro en Espana, pero supone el primer paso para continuar investigando otros aspectos de una manera mas profunda.

Abstract: The object of this work is to establish a series of elementary problems for the study of the relationships between the formation and development of the Argentinean library field and its consecrated ways of production and circulation of knowledge between 1870 and 1999. In theoretical and methodological terms, an articulation between the concepts “field” (which allows a synchronic inquiry) and “institution” (which provides a diachronic perspective) is constructed to study a set of documents related to the history of libraries and librarianship in Argentina. As a result, a tentative periodization consisting of three moments is presented: Emergence (1870-1910); prolongation and expansion (1910-1960); specialization (1960-1999). Each stage differs from the other by defining its problems: 1) To develop the social aspect of the library; 2) To expand the space and knowledge that are socially necessary; 3) To professionalize the library field. By way of conclusion, the original contribution of the article is evaluated, in relation to the effectiveness of the concepts used and the historiographic findings found. Among other aspects, the heuristic potential of the archive that testifies the librarian knowledge stands out.

Abstract: Para las bibliotecas, los mapas antiguos constituyen, desde el punto de vista del procesamiento tecnico, una de las tipologias documentales mas complejas. Por su doble naturaleza, cartografica e historica, por la variedad de las caracteristicas iconograficas y simbolicas que presentan y por los elementos artisticos empleados en su ornamentacion, su analisis documental no es sencillo. Esta tarea muchas veces se torna aun mas trabajosa por la ausencia de datos –ya sea debido a que no fueron incorporados en el momento de creacion de la obra o a una posterior perdida de soporte– y por las lenguas extranjeras o arcaicas en la que estan expresados los rotulos y textos que incluyen. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar algunas de las caracteristicas que, con mayor frecuencia, aparecen en estos documentos para contribuir con la elaboracion de registros que contengan detalles precisos y exhaustivos. Una descripcion catalografica con mayor nivel de detalle brindara a los investigadores de diferentes disciplinas, un conocimiento mas preciso de los fondos cartograficos que consulten.

Abstract: A History of Reading could be defined as many stories still pending. One of the tasks of the field is to build a history of the academic edition and a history of the books stored in the libraries of universities. But how is that story built? What are the knowledge dissemination strategies of the researchers of the Facultad de Filosofia y Letras (Universidad de Buenos Aires)? What do the libraries of the Institutes keep in their memory? How can we reconstruct the testimony of a (possible) reading in the university using the memory of those Institutions? How can the contents of university libraries be used to understand the culture of publishing and reading? What do the new theoretical perspectives on the explanation of reading contribute to these questions? In this context, the present project, Editar y leer en la Universidad. Una historia de la edicion academica de la Facultad de Filosofia y Letras (UBA) desde la Historia de la Lectura, aims to look for new keys of interpretation to these questions, acknowledging that this is a valuable opportunity to start the path of rethinking concepts and categories, based on the new trends in Reading History.

Abstract: This research addresses the editorial practices in terms of visibility carried out by Latin American scientific journals and their influential factors. The applied technique of data collection was surveyed. The sample was composed by journals classified in Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR), all of them associated to five subject categories in the Latin American context: Philosophy, Theology, Law, Political Science and Psychology. The main finding was that Web 2.0 tools are underused by the analyzed journals, we could infer that the positioning of a journal is not directly related with the usage of this kind of technological tools. From the results obtained, it is suggested, as a future research line, the identification of other factors that positively affect the visibility of the journals.

Abstract: Introduction: Research journals form the core of the field of knowledge of a scientific discipline. In the case of profession-oriented disciplines, some “not-as-scientific-as-others” journals also define this core. Objectives: To Describe thematic profiles by journal and country from the analysis of articles of Latin American Librarianship and Information Science (LIS) journals in Spanish language (2008-2016), and to detect local trends and identify areas of vacancy. Methodology: Through a basic quantitative analysis, Latin American LIS Journals are characterized for the period indicated. A database with the articles of the publications identified is made. Results: A total of 28 journal titles and 2388 articles have been collected. Disparity between countries is identified in the quantities of titles and articles. No significant thematic trends are identified by subregion.

Abstract: El objetivo del articulo es presentar un panorama de los repositorios de acceso abierto de las Instituciones de Educacion Superior en Mexico, se realizo un analisis de once repositorios mediante la primera fase de la metodologia SCOT donde se destaca, por un lado, las ventajas de incluir la produccion academica en este tipo de repositorios y, por otro, los desafios que esto puede tener a nivel institucional para sus responsables y a nivel personal para los autores de los materiales educativos. Se aportan elementos de discusion para la comunidad academica y cientifica que decida involucrarse en este tema. Se analizan los repositorios de las IES de Mexico registrados con mayor numero de recursos en OpenDOAR uno de los directorios de mayor aceptacion a nivel mundial, y se concluye que estos repositorios son una alternativa significativa de visibilidad de recursos, que se mantiene una tendencia creciente en cantidad y calidad de recursos alojados en los repositorios de acceso abierto. Asimismo, es importante evidenciar politicas e implementar procedimientos que aseguren su calidad y capacitar al personal involucrado en el mantenimiento del repositorio, ya que se requiere de un equipo de trabajo holistico.

Abstract: The work presents the experience developed in the Central University “Marta Abreu” of the Villas, Cuba, in the design and implementation of postgraduate online training about the publication of articles in educative journals considering the technological possibilities of the platform installed in the institution. The methodology followed was framed within the qualitative approach, and the research-action design was used during the two stages that the research included. As a result, the design of the online training was elaborated throughout the research process and its functionality in the conditions of the technological infrastructure of the university was verified. In general, the experience was considered positive and it can constitute a way to elevate the preparation of teachers of the university and other institutions of Higher Education, with regard to the scientific production and communication, taking advantage of the opportunities that the virtual spaces of learning offer.

Abstract: This research was developed due to the absence of publications on the profile of professors in Library Science in Argentina. The goal is not only to have a current picture of the situation of academics at the university, but also to know the characteristics of the new job scenario , as well as identify problems and opportunities. The analysis was carried out on the teaching population of the three institutions that grant the title of Professor of Librarianship in Argentina: Universidad de Buenos Aires, Universidad Nacional de La Plata and Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata. As a result, a set of characteristics shared by the teachers of the three universities was noted, which demonstrates the existence of a common profile.

Abstract: Based on the meaning of “archive” found in the L’archeologie du savoir by Michel Foucault and the interpretations that Giorgio Agamben makes of it in Quel che resta di Auschwitz, we present some considerations on the concept of author that we have called “archives of evil”. We use this expression to nominate documentary sets resulting from situations or regimes enabling of dissimilar scenarios of violence. These archives were mostly originated in the exercise of institutional functions. Today they are part of the funds of the commonly called “historical memory centers”, regulated by the exercise of democratic rights. The biography of Ildefonso Nalda Najera, who died in the Mauthausen Concentration Camp, and the Archiv der KZ-Gedenkstatte Mauthausen, that nowadays holds documents and objects related to the Concentration Camp, constitute the model that has guided this article.

Abstract: espanolEl objetivo de este trabajo es identificar las nuevas posibilidades de contenidos y tecnologias de los libros digitales, como herramientas comunicativas e informacionales de ultima generacion dentro de las TIC. Ademas de evidenciar la postura y receptividad de los nuevos formatos dentro del mundo editorial universitario en Colombia. El proceso se inicia con un analisis historico-contextual para la comprension del libro y el impacto del formato electronico, pasando por metodos propositivos para abordar aproximaciones reales desde las caracteristicas de los contenidos, tipologia de dispositivos, especificaciones y desarrollos para la lectura mediada por pantalla, hasta la lectura hermeneutica de las diferentes fuentes seleccionadas para el proceso: entrevistas y conversaciones con editores, productores, disenadores y fondos editoriales universitarios. Desde los instrumentos, se disenaron encuestas para 25 grupos editoriales y 9 entrevistas no estructuradas con empresas productoras y un modelo de entrevista en profundidad para bibliotecologos universitarios. Se aclara que estos instrumentos forman parte de una investigacion macro, que tambien reviso el papel del libro electronico en el sector comercial colombiano, acompanado de 1.500 encuestas en todo el pais. Abstract: El articulo define las ontologias en el ambito de la Web semantica, donde se las describe como artefactos representacionales, dispositivos jerarquicos constituidos por entidades y relaciones, y se las tipifica de acuerdo con su grado de generalidad y su funcionalidad. Se destacan los principios basicos que las rigen y las buenas practicas a tener en cuenta a nivel logico para su diseno e implementacion. Presenta las caracteristicas de la Basic Formal Ontology (BFO) orientada a sustentar las cuestiones logicas de todo tipo de ontologias, define las clases que incluye, sus relaciones y principales axiomas. Subraya el impacto de la expresividad de los lenguajes utilizados al disenar ontologias en cuanto a la resolucion de los aspectos formales que influyen en la capacidad de estas para generar inferencias automaticamente.

Abstract: This article explores the establishment of libraries in the Jewish settlements in the provinces of Chaco, Santiago del Estero, Rio Negro and La Pampa, which occurred when the Jews migrating from Eastern Europe started to arrive in Argentina in 1889. The main topics covered are the library’s development as educational and social centers where the settlers found a space to interact after a daylong work on the fields; how these libraries were established, and the support and funding provided. As the children of the first settlers migrated to cities, these libraries and their materials disappeared, resulting in the loss of the archives, which could tell us their stories. Through the settler’s memories we read about the hardships they had to face and the joys they managed to enjoy during the hard period of adaptation to the Argentine soil.

Abstract: In recent years, the study of cultural history has undergone an extraordinary development and, within that framework, the knowledge of society has been deepened through writing, publishing and reading. So, starting from considering that books acquire new life when they are recovered in their textual meaning, in their production conditions and their materialities, the Argentine editions of the 19th century present in the catalog of the Biblioteca de la Academia Argentina de Letras will be analyzed. It is understood that this approach allows studying texts in multiple dimensions. Thus, after passing from the world of print to the world of the reader, we will try to find answers to old questions –such as those found in the Almanaque Indicador Argentino (1899)– from new perspectives of understanding the multiplicity and differentiation of cultural practices, showing the author and his texts, the editor and the editions to reach the readers and the strategies deployed and shared senses around the books and readings in Argentina.

Abstract: The purpose of this work is to check in the libraries of the universities of Madrid and Catalonia if they offer the use of some of their spaces as a library service. The information of the websites of the libraries is studied and a questionnaire is sent to the libraries that do not have this information. The analyzed aspects are: quantity and variety of spaces, use or not of the websites to promote the offer of this type of services, location of this information on the websites and content provided. Among the results of the analysis of the 30 universities studied, it has been proven, for example, that 23 universities offer some of their library spaces as a service, of which 20 indicate it on the websites of the libraries; that the variety of spaces offered includes 26 different types, highlighting for their greater presence the space for group work (21 universities), individual and / or silence work spaces (12 universities) or computer spaces (10 universities), etc.

Abstract: This article presents the results of the research on the publishing process that took place in the Colombian series Seleccion Samper Ortega de Literatura Colombiana. Several national texts (of different literary genres) that already existed and had an editorial development since the nineteenth century were compiled. Thus, this article analyzes the main aspects that made this compendium of works and that, to a certain extent, characterized the local edition from 1930. Furthermore, the personal relations of the compiler with authors, the definition of editorial task with the Editorial Minerva of Bogota, publishing contracts, literary property that changed the relation between the practice of printing, libraries and the heritage of elites were examined.
