TL;DR: An overview of the canonical genetic algorithm is given and the tasks of image pre-processing are reviewed, which show that the field of genetic algorithms applications is growing fast.
Abstract: It was proved that genetic algorithms are the most powerful unbiased optimization techniques for sampling a large solution space. Because of unbiased stochastic sampling, they were quickly adapted in image processing. They were applied for the image enhancement, segmentation, feature extraction and classification as well as the image generation. This article gives a brief overview of the canonical genetic algorithm and it also reviews the tasks of image pre-processing. The survey of publications of this topic leads to the conclusion that the field of genetic algorithms applications is growing fast. The constant improvement of genetic algorithms will definitely help to solve various complex image processing tasks in the future.

TL;DR: The algorithms for transformation of domain ontology, described in OWL, to relational database are proposed and the methodology is illustrated with an example.
Abstract: The current work has arisen with respect to the growing importance of ontology modelling in Informa-tion Systems development. Due to emerging technologies of Semantic Web, it is desirable to use for this purpose the Web Ontology Language OWL. From the other side, the relational database technology has ensured the best facilities for storing, updating and manipulating the information of problem domain. The algorithms for transformation of domain ontology, described in OWL, to relational database are proposed. The methodology is illustrated with an example.

TL;DR: The article is focussed on the analysis of inner climate, its influence on human beings and problems caused by the parameters of innerClimate not meeting the standards.
Abstract: At the time when the demands of customers for quality construction are growing, the problem of evaluating the inner climate in a building and analyzing it from various perspectives becomes particularly important. The article is focussed on the analysis of inner climate, its influence on human beings and problems caused by the parameters of inner climate not meeting the standards. The condition of the spaces is determined by making the required measurements. The factors causing the deviation from the standards are identified and rational dwelling alternatives are offered. By using the method MOORA (Multi Objective Optimization on basis of Ratio Analysis), the best alternative is chosen from the available options. The multicriteria analysis is based on the data obtained in the investigation of inner climate.

TL;DR: Overall it is found that OSS developers are interested in usability, but in practice it is not top priority, and OSS projects rarely employs systematic usability evaluation.
Abstract: Open Source Software (OSS) development has gained significant importance in the production of soft-ware products. Open Source Software developers have produced systems with a functionality that is competitive with similar proprietary software developed by commercial software organizations. Yet OSS is usually designed for and by power-users, and OSS products have been criticized for having little or no emphasis on usability. We have conducted an empirical study of the developers’ opinions about usability and the way usability engineering is practiced in a variety of OSS projects. The study included a questionnaire survey and a series of interviews, where we interviewed OSS contributors with both technical and usability backgrounds. Overall we found that OSS developers are interested in usability, but in practice it is not top priority, and OSS projects rarely employs systematic usability evaluation. Most of the efforts are based on common sense. Most developers have a very limited understanding of usability, and there is a lack of resources and evaluation methods fitting into the OSS paradigm.

TL;DR: This paper focuses on a pixel level analysis and segmentation of smoke colored pixels for the automated forest fire detection and suggests that the peak performance is the distinctive feature of the algorithm itself rather than the algorithm-color space combination.
Abstract: A focus of this paper is a pixel level analysis and segmentation of smoke colored pixels for the automated forest fire detection. Variations in the smoke color tones, environmental illumination, atmospheric conditions and low quality of the images of wide outdoor area make smoke detection a complex task. In order to find an efficient combination of a color space and pixel level smoke segmentation algorithm, several color space transformations are evaluated by measuring separability between smoke and non-smoke classes of pixels. However, exhaustive evaluation of the histogram-based smoke segmentation algorithms in different color spaces suggests that the peak performance is the distinctive feature of the algorithm itself rather than the algorithm-color space combination.
