TL;DR: The impact of the new ideas on the Scottish Church which, throughout the fifteenth century, was not only influenced by the movement but, in turn, did much to promote the new outlook among the people of Scotland.
Abstract: The emergence of nationalist sentiment in the latter part of the medieval period was of immense significance for Europe. The fifteenth century in particular witnessed an extraordinary acceleration in the growth of this new mood. It was a revolution in men's thoughts which affected in greater or less degree every important aspect of life. In this essay an attempt is made to show the impact of the new ideas on the Scottish Church which, throughout the fifteenth century, was not only influenced by the movement but, in turn, did much to promote the new outlook among the people of Scotland.
