Son, para ella, ambitos esencialtuente distintos y contrapues ... tos de la conciencia hUluana y tambien lo son de la vida social. Mi descono... cimiento de otras culturas no lue permite afirmarlo luas taxativamente, pero poca duda cabe de que nuestra tradicion, desde la reluota epoca griega, se dis ... tingue, frente a las demas, por el hecho de que descansa sobe una polaridad o separacion entre razon y fe. Tal separacion es unas veces latente y otras explicita, unas veces morigerada y otras radical, pero suele estar siempre pre... sente. La tentacion de extender esta dicotomia a la contraposicion entre lo profano y lo sagrado, asi como a otras oposiciones afines, es lUUY fuerte. Conviene resistirse a ella, sin embargo, porque las coincidencias entre los diversos pares emparentados con esta dicotomia, aunque son frecuentes, no son siempre nitidas.
