TL;DR: Early childhood programs under Jewish institutional auspices have sky-rocketed to record highs as mentioned in this paper, and enrollments in such groups are currently quadruple the number they were a mere eight to ten years ago, despite steadily declining registration on the elementary and secondary levels of formal Jewish education.
Abstract: Enrollment in early childhood programs under Jewish institutional auspices has sky-rocketed to record highs. Indeed for over a decade, preschool units have represented the major growth area in the spectrum of Jewish schooling experiences. In some communities, in fact, enrollments in such groups are currently quadruple the number they were a mere eight to ten years ago. This despite steadily declining registration on the elementary and secondary levels of formal Jewish education, where the drop over the past forty years has been in excess of fifty percent.
