TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors studied the functioning of Chinese families with children with ASD in Hong Kong and found that traditional Chinese beliefs, community values, and the day-to-day experience of raising a child with ASD, influences the coping strategies that parents employ.
Abstract: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a life-long disability. The long term care of children with ASD has effects on families that teachers and support service providers strive to quantify. Observing 'filial piety' towards one's parents is a traditional Chinese virtue and moral standard. Yet despite the acknowledged importance of the family, relatively little is known about the functioning of Chinese families with children with ASD in Hong Kong (HK). Data was gathered from 100 parents of children with ASD to understand how traditional Chinese beliefs, community values, and the day to day experience of raising a child with ASD in HK, influences the coping strategies that parents employ. It is hoped that the results of this study will raise awareness for the need of further public awareness, educational and support services for families who are currently trying to adjust their parenting skills to cater for a family member with ASD.

TL;DR: In this paper, a profound study of the perception of students and teachers involved in a postgraduate educational leadership program in a blended mode was conducted. And the qualitative and quantitative data was analysed using SPSS while thematic approach using emerging themes were used for interpreting the interviews.
Abstract: Growing technological advancement and emerging digital environments have infused and swiftly changed the learning landscape globally. One such advancement that incorporates face-to- face learn-ing with technological tools is the blended or hybrid mode of learning and teaching. Blended or hybrid learning is a seamless combination of online and face-to-face activities for classroom instruction for all and basically the demographically displaced. This research delves into a profound study of the perception of students and staE™ involved in a postgraduate educational leadership program oE™ered in a blended mode. An interpretive paradigm using mixed methods approach adopting a survey consisting of Likert scale items and interviews were successfully implemented. The quantitative data was analysed using SPSS while thematic approach using emerging themes were used for interpreting the interviews. Findings testify that blended approach has been liked and very well accepted by the students as it enables them to complete their qualifications and progress academically and professionally in their lives. This study sets a solid platform for further research as certain scholars and administrators are still sceptical and hesitant in fully implementing blended mode of learning and teaching. The study concludes by stating certain implications that subsequently can make blended mode more chronic and applicable to the needs of scholars, teachers and students especially in archipelagos like Fiji and beyond.

TL;DR: The Kenya Vision 2030 was inaugurated in 2008 as the country's development plan with an aim of transforming Kenya into an industrialized middle-income country providing high quality life to all its citizens by 2030.
Abstract: The Kenya Vision 2030 was inaugurated in 2008 as the country’s development plan with an aim of transforming Kenya into an industrialized middle-income country providing high quality life to all its citizens by 2030. Do religious organizations have a role to play in the realization of this Vision? Although the Church is one of the most trusted institutions in Kenya commanding a large following (82.5%), ordinarily no one thinks that she has a role to play in the accomplishment of this Vision. This paper argues that the Church as the conscience of the society cannot stand at the periphery. Since the Church basically preaches and stands for the ideals suggested in this Vision, she should fully get involved in its implementation. The paper proposes a number of ways in which the Church in Kenya can get involved including quest for peace, justice and reconciliation; economic empowerment programs; development activities; environmental conservation and fighting corruption.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the contributions of capital market performance to economic growth in Nigeria and found that three of the indicators (market capitalization, number of listed equities, and value of transactions) positively contributed to the economic growth.
Abstract: The study examined the contributions of capital market performance to economic growth in Nige-ria;essentially, it was anchored on endogenous growth theory. Time-series data, covering 1984 to 2016, were sourced from the capital market bulletins of the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission and the statistical bulletins of the Central Bank of Nigeria. From these records, economic growth was proxied by gross domestic product, while capital market performance indicators employed are mar-ket capitalisation, all-share index, number of listed equities, number of deals, value of deals, value of transactions, and stock market turnover. Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) was the major estimation technique employed; however, for robustness, Auto Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) coeycients and Vector Auto Regression (VAR) coeycients were used to confirm the OLS results. It was found that, three capital market performance indicators (market capitalization, number of listed equities, and value of transactions) positively contributed to economic growth in Nigeria; and four others (stock mar-ket turnover, all-share index, number of deals, and value of deals) negatively contributed to economic growth in Nigeria. Therefore, the study concluded that, capital market performance could contribute positively or negatively to economic growth in Nigeria. So, to this extent, capital market performance has heterogeneous e˙ects on economic growth, depending on the level ofeyciency and discipline of the market as well as the conduciveness of the macroeconomic environment. This poses a resolution to the conflict between the positive-linkand the negative-link schools. It was therefore recommended, that, capital market deregulation policy should be pursued by the national government to influence positive all-share index. Also, capital market regulators should instil market discipline to discourage market infractions, and restore investors’ confidence for increased activities of the capital market, thus leading to improved stock market turnover. Not only that, government should make the macroeconomic envi-ronment conducive by putting inflation rate, exchange rate, tax rate and interest rates under check, so that both the number and value of deals can be enhanced.
