Abstract: This study examined the entrepreneurial orientation (EO) of 599 independent businesspeople and compared those with high, medium and low EO along a series of distinctive marketing competency and organizational performance measures. EO is measured using a new multi-item scale that is based on an integrative definition of entrepreneurship. Results indicate that EO is positively and significantly related to distinctive marketing competencies and organizational performance. Demographic profiles of the high, medium and low EO groups are also developed and provide additional insights.

TL;DR: In this paper, the antecedents of participation in the services marking literature, outlines point of distinction between participation and the related construct of involvement, and employs empirical evidence drawn from two professional service settings to address the research questions.
Abstract: The fact that customers participate in the specification and delivery of the services they seek represents an important potential point of potential leverage for services providers as the nature and intensity of customer participation is within their ability to manage. Important questions, however, need to be raised and resolved. Does increased customer participation result in higher perceptions of quality and satisfaction or in greater repurchase? Are relationships between participation and repurchase affected by the type of service being provided or the length of the prior relationship? This paper traces the antecedents of participation in the services marking literature, outlines point of distinction between participation and the related construct of involvement, and employs empirical evidence drawn from two professional service settings to address the research questions. Results confirm that participation is strongly associated with repurchase and referrals in some service settings, and a research agenda is proposed.

TL;DR: This article found that financial leverage, capital turnover, asset composition, and firm size are significant factors associated with fraudulent financial reporting prediction results suggest that these models outperform a nae strategy of classifying all firms as non-fraud firms for all levels of relative costs of type I and type II errors.
Abstract: Based on stepwise-logistic models, this study finds that financial leverage, capital turnover, asset composition and firm size are significant factors associated with fraudulent financial reporting Prediction results suggest that these models outperform a nae strategy of classifying all firms as nonfraud firms for all levels of relative costs of type I and type II errors. The models also correctly identify a large percentage of fraud firms and misclassify a relatively small percentage of nonfraud firms when realistic relative error costs are assumed.

TL;DR: In this article, a systematic and structured review of literature provides insights into the conceptualization and research methodological background of the SCM field, and a critical examination of existing conceptual frameworks for understanding the relationships between the SCRes concept and its identified formative elements, is taking place.
Abstract: The objective of this paper is to conceptualize Supply Chain Resilience (SCRes) and identify which supply chain capabilities can support the containment of disruptions and how these capabilities affect SCRes. Through a systematic and structured review of literature, this paper provides insights into the conceptualization and research methodological background of the SCM field. A total of one hundred and thirty four carefully selected refereed journal articles were systematically analyzed leading to the introduction of a novel definition for SCRes, which the authors view as the as the ability to proactively plan and design the Supply Chain network for anticipating unexpected disruptive (negative) events, respond adaptively to disruptions while maintaining control over structure and function and transcending to a post-event robust state of operations, if possible, more favorable than the one prior to the event, thus gaining competitive advantage. Finally, a critical examination of existing conceptual frameworks for understanding the relationships between the SCRes concept and its identified formative elements, is taking place.

TL;DR: The authors examined the relationship between board members gender and their corporate social responsiveness orientation and found that female directors exhibit a stronger orientation toward the discretionary component of corporate responsibility compared to their male counterparts.
Abstract: This study examines the relationship between board members gender and their corporate social responsiveness orientation. An empirical analysis of survey data from 398 corporate directors shows that, compared to their male counterparts, female directors exhibit a stronger orientation toward the discretionary component of corporate responsibility. Male board members, in contrast to female directors, are more concerned about economic performance. Results further reveal no significant differences between the two genders with respect to both the legal and ethical dimensions.
