TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the factors that affect impulse buying (i.e., website quality, sales promotion, and fashion consciousness) within the context of apparel/fashion product purchase, and examined the role of sales promotion in moderating the relationship between website quality and impulse buying.
Abstract: The prevalence of online shopping also gave rise to irrational shopping behavior like impulse buying, which makes up a large share of e-retailer revenue. This study’s objective was to analyze the factors that affect impulse buying (i.e., website quality, sales promotion, and fashion consciousness) within the context of apparel/fashion product purchase. Besides, this study also sought to examine the role of sales promotion in moderating the relationship between website quality and impulse buying. An online survey with a final sample size of 211 respondents was carried out using Google Forms and analyzed with Confirmatory Factor Analysis and multiple regression analysis (using R Statistical Software) to analyze four hypotheses. The result indicated that website quality did not affect impulse buying, while sales promotion and fashion consciousness was found to affect impulse buying positively. However, the role of website quality was still critical, since it still played a role as a hygiene factor. Once website quality interacted with sales promotion, it could positively affect impulse buying. Keywords: fashion consciousness, impulse buying, sales promotion, website quality

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the relationship between international trade, intellectual property right and level of economic development using an Autoregressive distributed lag ARDL approach, and concluded that both trade and IPR are not capable of influencing economic development within the study period.
Abstract: This study explored on the nexus between trade (TRD), intellectual property right (IPR) and level of economic development (LDEV) over the period 1991 - 2018 using an Autoregressive distributed lag ARDL approach. The results suggest a long-run relationship between international trade, intellectual property right and level of economic development. The results also revealed that while the export component of the IPR exerted no impact on LDEV, TRD on the other hand, showed a temporary positive effect on the level of economic development possibly due to the instability in the macroeconomic environment and her overdependent on imported goods. Interestingly, FDI exerted a positive and significant effect on the level of economic development in the country. These results corroborate the outcome of the causality test, which revealed a uni-directional causality that runs from FDI, TRD to the level of economic development. In contrast, there seems to be a causal effect from the level of economic development to import component of the IPR to total productivity factor to inflation, respectively. The study concludes that both trade and intellectual property right are not capable of influencing economic development within the study period due to weak IPR protection and mono-product nature of the country. Based on the above, the study recommends that the government should provide an enabling environment that will further attract foreign investment in the country. Also, formulate a well developed institutional framework that will promote intellectual property right and finally diversify the economy into other sectors that are promising in order to avoid external shocks that can emanate from relying on a single sector of an economy.

TL;DR: In this article, a normative legal study was conducted for the institution of the National Land Agency throughout Indonesia to provide land rights based on the type of land allocation and its usage, where data were collected through library research with the support of empirical data from the Land Agency of Medan.
Abstract: One of the tasks of the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency of the Republic of Indonesia is to provide types of land rights in each region throughout Indonesia. The purpose of this study is aimed for the institution of the National Land Agency throughout Indonesia to provide land rights based on the type of land allocation and its usage. This is a normative legal study in which data were collected through library research with the support of empirical data from the Land Agency of Medan. The allocation system, a type of land zone division system, is utilized by the Municipal Land Affairs Office of Medan to establish land rights. Building rights are granted by the Land Agency when a zone has been allocated as a trading area, although in practice there are still a lot of lands used for residential purposes. The designation system for the granting of land rights assigned by the Municipal Land Affairs Office of Medan, based on Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2015, failed to uphold justice for the people of Medan that applied for the rights to the land under their name. Therefore, a more applicable system is the existing spatial system or a system based on the land’s actual use in practice Keywords: National Land Agency, spatial planning, allocation system, land use, spatial management

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the Indonesia Original Brand Index (IOB) on financial performance is analyzed, which is measured by profitability and market value, and the authors find that customers' satisfaction can enhance customer loyalty while also significantly improving customer advocacy.
Abstract: This research aimed at analyzing the influence of Indonesia Original Brand Index (IOB) on financial performance, which is measured by profitability and market value. The data of this research was from companies in various sectors listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and whose brand appeared on the published index of Indonesia Original Brands of SWA magazine. The final number of samples is 68 firm-years. This research found that customers’ satisfaction can enhance customer loyalty while also significantly improving customer advocacy. However, the performance of the Indonesia Original Brand Index still not significantly impacted financial performance. This issue happened due to the excessive resources of Indonesian companies, which spent on turning customers' loyalty and be advocates for the brand. This unfavorable profitability outcome can also be due to the unique characteristics of Indonesia’s consumer behavior. According to 81% of IOB respondents, Indonesia’s customers prefer to buy things at a low price and economically. With this behavior of seeking the lowest price, it indicates that customers in Indonesia may shift from one brand to other brands to get the best offer available, therefore not resulting in their constant purchase of one specific brand. Abstract: The objective of this study is trying to develop a comprehensive model referring to previous research of Hwang and Griffith's model of intention to participate in Collaborative Consumption (CC). The study applied exploratory research design which implements previous researches regarding online collaborative consumption focusing on a study by Hwang and Griffith. Hwang and Griffith's model of intention to participate in Collaborative Consumption (CC) is unique in that it recognizes both attitudes and sympathy as the primary predictors of the intention to use the CC platform. The model is also relevant to CC as it encompasses different values, which are utilitarian, hedonic and symbolic. This Study results in a comprehensive model which incorporating several variables from previous studies, such as online initial trusts and perceived behavioral control. We conclude that by trying to put Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) will enrich the global-scale model from the higher point of view besides the cognitive perception itself. Moreover, this conceptual model is developed as a suggestion for future research as well as the implementation of more sophisticated statistical analysis method should be included. TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of recruitment and selection process on job performance in education industry is examined by employing variance based Structural Equation Model (SEM) using Partial Least Square software to examine these relationships.
Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine the effect of recruitment and selection process on job performance in education industry. While many previous studies concerned on research in formal education organization, this research more focus on the relationship between recruitment and selection process on job performance in non-formal education agency. This study used reflective measurement indicators with four indicators for employee performance, three indicators for recruitment and six indicators for selection. The samples of this study are tutors who are currently working at My L’s Course Agency in Surabaya Indonesia. This study employed variance based Structural Equation Model (SEM) using Partial Least Square software to examine these relationships. In addition, the bootstrap technique with 5000 samples is used to estimate t-value and p-value to avoid type II error problem in testing hypothesis due to small sample size problem. The research result shows that impact of recruitment and selection on tutor’s performance are statistically significant at 1%. This empirical evidence confirms the hypothesis that recruitment and selection process has an impact on job performance. This finding implies that human resource manager should aware the recruitment and selection process to improve the job performance in the recruiting process. However, the average score value of all indicators are only weakly suggesting considerable further research in improving teacher quality through recruitment and selection process.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors identify how perceived risk on Indonesian people could influence satisfaction and trust, which leads to intention to use and intention to recommend halal-labeled drugs.
Abstract: There were still very few halal-labeled drugs in Indonesia, which can be caused by low consumer demand. Every consumer has perceived risk on a product, including halal-labeled drugs. Only consumers with good preference towards halal-labeled drugs are willing to take risks by choosing halal-labeled drugs to obtain peace of mind, which is manifested as satisfaction and trust. This study aims to identify how perceived risk on Indonesian people could influence satisfaction and trust, which leads to intention to use and intention to recommend halal-labeled drugs. Data were obtained from 332 Indonesian respondents aged at least 17 years old who were collected by convenience using social media which were then processed by PLS-SEM. This study found that perceived risk naturally can influence satisfaction, which leads to intention to use supported by knowledge and previous use experience, leading to intention to recommend. Meanwhile, perceived risk supported by knowledge can affect trust, which in turn can influence intention to use, and then leads to intention to recommend. In conclusion, knowledge and previous use experience are supporting factors which are required to trigger the consumer preference toward halal-labeled drugs.
