Abstract: Tetrahedral dibromomanganese(II) complexes having formulas [MnBr2{O = PR(NMe2)2}2] (R = NMe2 (1); Ph (2)) were isolated and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. [MnBr2{O = P(NMe2)3}2] (1) crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group. The asymmetric unit contains one half of the molecule with the Mn(II) atom in a distorted tetrahedral coordination. The intermolecular network of this coordination compound was studied by generating and inspecting its Hirshfeld surface, while the weak intramolecular hydrogen bonds were investigated computationally by AIM analysis in the gas phase and in solution. The Hirshfeld analysis was extended to the related [MnBr2{O = PPh(NMe2)2}2] complex (2).

Abstract: The present study was conducted to design and develop new complexes and their metal-based nanodrug (registered as Casiopeinas® for cancer) with a low toxicity, high efficiency, and high selectivity. First, complexes ([Cu(TTA)(bpy)2] (1) and [Cu(TTA)2(en)] (2) (TTA = 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-(2-furyl)-1,3-butanedione) were synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction studies, CHN analysis, conductivity measurements, FT-IR and UV-vis spectroscopy. Second, nanoparticles (NPs) of 3 and 4 with the average size of 63.04 and 85.39 nm were prepared with ultrasound. Scanning electron microscopy patterns of 3 and 4 showed irregular spherical and nanorod particles with spongy surface. Furthermore, the anticancer properties of compounds and nano-compounds were studied in MKN-45 cell line. Then, apoptosis studies were carried out utilizing AO/EB staining methods. Abstract: The synthesis and spectral characterizations of [CdLCl2] (1) and [CdL(NO3)2(H2O)] (2) pincer complexes of the s-triazine core ligand (L), 2,4-bis(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-6-methoxy-1,3,5-triazine), are presented. Complexes 1 and 2 have five- and eight-coordinated Cd(II) ions, respectively, where L acts as a neutral tridentate N-chelate. The coordination sphere is completed by two coordinated Cl– anions in 1 and with one water molecule and two bidentate nitrate anions in 2. The neutral complex units of 1 and 2 are packed by the polar Cl…H and O…H hydrogen bonds, respectively. Using Hirshfeld analysis, the percentages of these contacts are 24.5% and ∼36.8%, respectively. Both complexes showed some anion-π stacking interactions. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that 1 is thermally more stable than 2. The orbital-orbital interactions included in the Cd-Cl, Cd-O, and Cd-N coordinate bonds were analyzed using DFT calculations. The calculated NMR results correlated very well with the experimental data.

The trigonal crystals of [Sc(L)6]I3 (L = Ur, AA) and monoclinic crystals of [Sc(Ur)6][I3]3 are isomorphous to the earlier reported [M(Ur)6]I3 (M = Ti, V, Cr, Fe) and [Ln(Ur)6][I3]3 (Ln = Yb, Lu), respectively.
