TL;DR: Low energy laser can effectively accelerate orthodontic tooth movement and shorten the course of treatment.
Abstract: [Objective] To study the effects of low energy laser irradiation on orthodontic tooth movement.[Methods] The upper right canines were irradiated by low energy laser in 20 malocclusion patients,20 min/week for 4 weeks.The left side was served as control.The distance of canine movement was measured on the model using the vernier caliper on 7th,14 th,21st and 28th day,respectively.All values were statistically analyzed.[Results] The tooth movement of the experiment group was greater than that of the control group(P0.01).[Conclusion] Low energy laser can effectively accelerate orthodontic tooth movement and shorten the course of treatment.

Abstract: [Objective] To prospectively compare the diagnostic value of CE-MRA and TOF-MRA in cerebral and cervical aneurysm[Methods]One hundred patients with clinical suspected cerebral and cervical aneurysm were enrolled and 72 aneurysms were demonstrated by surgery or DSATOF-MRA and CE-MRA were undertaken by every subject for evaluationContents of evaluation included the sensitivity,specificity and accuracy in aneurysm diagnosis;exposure of combined hemorrhage and thrombus in the aneurysm sac[Results] The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of CE-MRA in the diagnosis of cerebral and cervical aneurysm were 972%(70/72),100%(28/28) and 98%,while those of TOF-MRA were 833%(60/72),464%(13/28) and 73%,respectivelyPair χ2-test showed significant difference between them(P001)14 combining hemorrhage lesions in TOF-MRA were accurately assessed by CE-MRAAmong 37 thromboses in aneurysm sacs,16 cases were demonstrated to be artifact and 21 thromboses in the aneurysm sacs were correctly evaluated by CE-MRA[Conclusions] TOF-MRA should be used for screening of cerebral and cervical aneurysmWhen no abnormality was found by TOF-MRA in highly-suspected cerebral and cervical aneurysm or cerebral hemorrhage,CE-MRA was recommendedSo did the evaluation of thrombus in the aneurysm sac

Abstract: [Objective] To investigate the levels of resistin in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) [Methods] Resistin was determined in 42 patients with GDM and 50 control subjects.the insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR) was calculated at the same time.[Results](1) In GDM group,The meams of resistin,HOMA-IR were(13.7±3.4)μg/L,(3.0+1.1),in the control subjects,The meams of resistin,HOMA-IR were(10.2±2.6)μg/L,(2.6+0.7),(P0.05);(2) In the group of GDM,Pearson correlation analysis indicated that Homa-IR were positively correlated to resistin.[Conclusion] Resistin was highter in GDM compared with those control subjects,resistin might play an important role in pathogensis of insulin resistance.

Abstract: [Objectives] A novel proteomics approach was created to analyze and identify glycoproteins in the venom of Gloydius blomhoffi Brevicaudus snake(GBB snake).[Methods] SDS-PAGE was used to separate the protein components in snake venom complex.Pro-Q-Emerald,a fluorescent glycoprotein specific dye,was used to assess the glycoproteins.Peptides generated by the trypsin digestion of proteins were separated by RP-HPLC on a C18 column in prior to their introduction into the nESI /MS/MS system.Protein identification was carried out by Bioworks software searching against the NCBInr database.[Results] Proteins homologs of L-amino acid oxidase,metalloproteinase,glutaminyl cyclase,salmobin,plasminogen activator,halystase,phospholipase A2,nerve growth factor and truncated/degraded L-amino acid oxidase product were identified as the glycosylated proteins in GBB snake venom.And the numbers of matched peptides for these were 8,4,7,2,3,3,4,2 and 5,respectively.The results were validated by the experimental characterization of pure L-amino acid oxidase isolated from GBB snake venom.[Conclusions] Eight types of proteins in the venom of GBB snake were identified as glycoproteins.The approach established in this study merits the advantages of rapid operation,and accurate and reproducible measurement.

Abstract: [Objective] To investigate the alteration of immune function in patients after autologous peripheral blood purified stem cells transplantation.[Methods] Sixteen patients with systemic lupus erythematosus had received autologous peripheral blood purified stem cells transplantation were enrolled in this study.Four-color flow cytometry was used to detect the express of CD+03,CD45RA+CD+4,CD45RA+CD+8 and CD45RO+CD+4 before transplantation and at 3,6,12 months after transplantation.[Results] Frequence of CD+3,CD45RA+CD+4,CD45RA+CD+8 and CD45RO+CD+4 in peripheral blood at 3 months after transplantation were decreased compared with that of before transplantation.At the same time,the subset of CD+3,CD45RA+CD+8 and CD45RO+CD+4 were lower than those of before transplantation(P0.05).At 6 months after transplantation,the CD+3,CD45RA+CD+8 and CD45RO+CD+4 subsets were decreased compared with those of before transplantation(P0.05).CD45RA+CD+4subset was higher than that of before transplantation and 3 months after transplantation.CD45RA+CD+4subset was increased significant at 6 months after transplantation than that of at 3 months(P0.05).Frequence of CD45RO+CD+4in peripheral blood at 12 months after transplantation were also decreased significant than that of before transplantation(P0.05).Frequence of CD45RA+CD+4was higher than that of before transplantation,3 and 6 months after transplantation,only increased significant than that of 3 months after transplantation(P0.05).[Conclusion] Autologous peripheral blood purified stem cells transplantation can reduces the immune function.Measurement of the changes of CD+3,CD45RA+CD+4,CD45RA+CD+8and CD45RO+CD+4cell ratio using flow cytometry may provide insights into the molecular picture of the thymus regeneration function in association with immune reconstruction process in SLE patients after stem cell transplantation.The number of newly generated T cells transported from the thymus can be a putative marker of immune reconstruction after transplantation.

Abstract: [Objective] We further test the hypothesis by analyzing the association of CX3CR1 polymorphism with angiographically defined atherosclerosis[Methods] Genotyping of the CX3CR1-I249 polymorphism was performed in a cohort of 188 yellow individuals who undergone cardiaccatheterization(n=108 with and n=80 without cardiac artery disease,respectively)[Results] The frequencies of the I249 and M280 polymorphisms showed no deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibriumHowever,a statistically significant difference in genotype frequencies was observed in cases compared with controlsThe adjusted odds ratios associated with the presence of the M280 and I249 alleles were 049 and 043[Conclusion] CX3CR1 I249 heterozygosity is associated with a markedly reduced risk of acute coronary events,independent of established acquired coronary risk factorsThe CX3CR1 I249 allele is associated with decreased risk of cardiac artery diseaseThis suggests that CX3CR1 may be involved in the pathogenesis of cardiac artery disease

Abstract: [Objective] To provide the dependable data on diagnosis for AMI through checking the h-FABP,the hs-CRP and the cTnT jointly.[Methods] The cTnT was detected by the immunogold filtration assay.The hs-CRP was by the immune nephelometer measure.The h-FABP was by the 96 tests ELISA.[Results] Copared control group with AMI group,h-FABP:(5.46±0.19),(23.27±1.77)ng/mL,P0.01,cTnT:(0.10±0.01),(0.64±0.11)ng/mL,P0.01,hs-CRP:(0.85±0.10),(17.39±4.69)mg/L,P0.01,during 3 hours the positive rate of cTnT,hs-CRP,h-FABP was 50%,55.26%,85% respectively in 40 patients of AMI.The positive rate of checking jointly creased to 98%.[Conclusion] The checking jointly of the h-FABP,the hs-CRP and the cTnT is sensitive and differential for the early diagnosis for AMI.

Abstract: [Objective] To explore the value of laparoscopic technology of the treatment in hepatic cyst.[Methods] The clinical data of 46 patients with hepatic cyst who received laparoscopic fenestration from Feb 1996 to Feb 2007,were analyzed retrospectively.[Results] The procedure was successfully performed in 44 cases,the duration of operation was 30~85 min,45 min on average,Average length of postoperative hospitalization was 4.5 days.2 cases were found to recurrence after a year follow-up.2 cases were conversed to open abdominal operation(1 case for the cyst connected with biliary duct,1 case for the vascular injury).[Conclusion] Laparascopic fenestration and deroofing is a reasonable and effective technology in the treatment in hepatic cyst with less trauma,slight pain and fast recovery.

Abstract: [Objective] To provide molecular toxicological evidences for exploring the mechanism of arsenic-induced neurotoxicity.[Methods] Thirty mice were divided into 3 groups,e.g.,one controls and 2 experimental groups(1 and 4 mg/L As2O3).As2O3 was administered through drinking water for 60 days,followed by decollation.Expression profiles of neurotransmitter transmission-related genes,including secretion-related genes and transport-related genes as well as receptor activity-related genes were examined in the cerebellum of these mice by genechip technology.[Results] Seventeen neurotransmitter tansmission-related genes in experimental groups were found in differential expression profile,including 10 downregulated genes.Tph2,Gria2,Grin1,Gabrb2,Camk4,Nrxn1,Lin7c,Nrxn3,Syt1 and Cpix2 and 7 upregulated genes Slc6a2,Slc6a5,Slc6a11,SLc18a2,Slc18a3,Htr2c and Lin7b.[Conclusion] Chronic exposure to arsenic may affect expressions of neurotransmitter transmission-related genes in the cerebullum of mice.

Abstract: [Objective] To observe the dynamic changes of blood nitric oxide(NO) and endothelin-1(ET-1) in rats with acute renal failure induced by high-dose cisplatin(DDP).[Methods] 24 SD rats were divided randomly into DDP group and control group according to weight.DDP(10mg/kg) were injected intraperitoneally and the same volume of natural saline was given as control.Blood samples were obtained from orbital venous sinus before and 3 h,6 h,48 h after DDP administration,and then plasma ET-1 was measured by using radioimmunoassay,while plasma NO was examined with nitrite reduction test.[Results] Plasma ET-1 was(213.68 ± 28.3) ng/mL at 3 hours after DDP administration,significantly higher than that(157.45±27.7) ng/mL in control group(P0.01).It decreased a little in 6 hours after DDP administration,and then sustained in a higher level.There is significant difference compared with control group(P0.05).Plasma NO started to rise in 3 hours after DDP administration.It increased to(166.67±84.62) μmol/L in 6 hours after DDP administration,significantly higher than that(32.85±12.98) μmol/L in control group(P0.01).Then it decreased a little at 48 hours after DDP administration,but still higher than that of control group(P0.01).[Conclusion] The changes of plasma ET-1 and NO concentration are related to acute renal failure induced by high-dose cisplatin.Plasma ET-1 and NO probably play an important role in the early stage of the pathogenesis of cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity.
