Abstract: [Objective] To evaluate the influence of different resin cements and silane coupling agents on bond strength of glass fiber posts to root dentin.[Methods] Twenty-four sound single rooted teeth that had similar dimensions were selected.The coronal aspects were removed.After endodontic treatment and canal preparation,24 MATCHPOST glass fiber posts were cemented to the root canals.According to the different silane coupling agent,24 teeth root were randomly divided into two equal main groups of 12 each: A group(two components) and B group(single component).Teeth root from the two main groups were randomly distributed into there equal subgroups according to different resin cement: RU group(RelyX Unicem self-adhesive system);PF group(Panavia-F self-etching system) and DL group(DUO-LINK total-etching system).Each root was cut perpendicular to the long axis to obtain 3 slices with 3.0-mm-thick as test specimens.Specimens of each test group(n=12) were loaded in an universal testing machine for push-out test.The dates obtained were submitted to the two-way ANOVA and multiple comparison(α=0.05).Failure modes of specimens were observed and recorded.[Results] Bond strength values(MPa) of six test groups from the highest to the lowest were as follows: B-RU(14.8±5.17),B-PF(9.77±4.77),A-RU(9.42±4.93),A-PF(8.69±3.40),B-DL(5.71±2.71) and A-DL(5.22±1.69).Silane coupling agent(compared A and B group,P=0.014) and resin cement(compared RU、PF and DL group,P=0.000) significantly effected bond strength,whereas the interaction between these two factors was not significant(P=0.079).Post-hoc test revealed that significant differences(P0.05)could be found between every two groups of three(RU,PF and DL).[Conclusion] Self-adhesive resin cement(RU) show the better bond strength than self-etching(DL) and total-etching(PF).One-component silane coupling agent should be recommended in clinical.

Abstract: [Objectives] To test whether early antidepressive treatment with fluoxetine has any beneficial influence on the rehabilitation of stroke patients with aphasia.[Methods] A study involved 82 consecutive patients admitted to hospital for an acute stroke.The patients received treatment with or without fluoxetine(20 mg/d).Before and at the end of the observation period,we assessed activities of daily living,degree of neurological deficit by MESSS and ADL for the subjects. [Results] In the 4 th week of the treatment,12 th week of the treatment and in the 12 th week of follow-up,the scores of MESSS for the treatment groups were 14.6,10.2,and 8.9 separately,comparing to the scores of control group(17.8,14.6,13.8).The scores of ADL were 34.4,27.6 and 28.8 separately,comparing to the scores of control group(41.4,34.6,35.5) There were significant difference between the treatment and control groups(P0.01).[Conclusion] Prophylactic antidepressive treatment with fluoxetine can improve the neurological function of post-stroke patients with aphasia.

Abstract: [Objective] To research the expressions of NM23-H1、CD44v6 in the non-small cell lung cancer without lymph node metastasis(N0NSCLC)and their clinical significances.[Methods] The immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of NM23-H1 and CD44v6 in 60 N0NSCLC from operatal patients and the relationship between the expressions and 5-years prognosis of patients after operation was analysed.[Results] Both of NM23-H1 and CD44v6 expressions were no significant differences between squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma.However,the expression of NM23-H1 related positively to 5-year survival rate of the patient(r=0.887),but that of CD44v6 negatively(r=-0.784).[Conclusion] Detection of NM23-H1 and CD44v6 expressions might be useful to predict the prognosis of patients with N0 NSCLC.

Abstract: [Objective] To study the effect of germidine against arterial thrombosis in rats as well as the possible mechanism.[Methods] Seventy rats were divided into 7 groups randomly: NS group,5 groups with different doses and positive control group(LAS).Occlusion time(OT) was measured after dosing.Then,the OT increasing percentage of germidine-treated groups,according to OT of saline control group,was served as an index to evaluate anti-arterial thrombosis effects of the drug.Born's turbidimetric method was used to examine the platelet aggregation inhibitory activity of germidine in vitro and in vivo.Then,60 rats were divided into 6 groups randomly: NS group,4 groups with different doses and LAS group.

Abstract: [Objective] To investigate the expression and distribution of nicotinamide phosphoribosyl transferase(Nampt) in rat salivary glands.[Methods] The expressions of Nampt mRNA and protein were investigated by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and Western Blot in the parotid,submandibular and major sublingual glands of rat.Immunohistochemical assay was applied to detect the distribution of Nampt in these glands too.[Results] The results of RT-PCR showed that the optical density of the expression of Nampt mRNA was 82.04%,50.89% and 30.53% respectively in the parotid,submandibular and major sublingual glands of rat(P0.05,compared with actin).The results of Western blot showed that the optical density of the expression of Nampt protein was 77.34%,47.61% and 31.78%,respectively in these glands(P0.05,compared with actin).Nampt protein was widely distributed in them,mainly localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus of both serous acinar cells and ductal cells.[Conclusions] Nampt mRNA and protein are expressed in the parotid,submandibular and major sublingual glands of rat,and may be involved in underlying mechanisms of physiology and patho-physiology in the salivary glands.

Abstract: [Objective] To evaluate the hypoglycemic effect of a doxycycline regulated insulin expression vector electroporated to skeletal muscle of streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice.[Methods] The plasmid prTA-tet4-rhINS constructed previously was transferred to hindleg muscle of streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice of Kunming species,and fed in the drinking water with doxycycline immediately.The tail blood glucose was measured with glucose oxidase method daily.Human true insulin was analyzed with ELISA.Total mRNA were extracted from muscles and liver tissues.RT-PCR was used to analyze the human proinsulin mRNA levels.[Results] Following intramuscular injection of the vector,the insulin mRNA expressions in mice muscles were examined and repeated induction of serum insulin protrein following doxycycline administration were observed.The best hypoglycemic effect was showed in second week after transfer,with withdrawal of inducer doxycycline,blood glucose began to increase to the level before transfer in 48 hours;and then with doxycycline administration,blood glucose of the mice decreased to the level gradully before withdrawal in 72 hours.Two cycles of regulation with the same results were achieved over 34 days.[Conclusion] The tet-on system is a useful tool for controlling the expression of human insulin electropotated in mice.

Abstract: [Objective] The present study was to elucidate whether low-dose exposure to arsenic would affect monoamine neurotransmitters levels in mice brain. [Methods] Seventy mice were randomly divided into six groups.The mice of Group 1 received drinking water alone as control.Those of Group 2,Group 3,Group 4,Group 5and Group 6 received 1 ppm,2 ppm,4 ppm As2O3,4 ppm As2O3+150 mg/kg taurine,and 4 ppm As2O3+45 mg/kg Vit C,respectively.Three monoamine neurotransmitters(norepinephrine,dopamine,serotonin) in cerebrum of the mice were measured by HPLC with fluorescence detector.[Results] Three monoamine neurotransmitters in cerebrum of the mice exposed to arsenic decreased significantly,compared to the control group.Oral administration of taurine and Vit C were found to be very effective in prevention for the brain injury of experimental mice.With the increasing of days exposed,the levels of three monoamine neurotransmitters were decreasing.[Conclusion] Subchronic low-dose exposure to arsenic can decrease the concentration of three monoamine neurotransmitters in brain.Taurine and Vit C may distinctively resist the injury of nervous system induced by arsenic.

Abstract: [Objective] To analyze the effect of compound lidocaine cream used in pediatric circumcision and the difference from other anesthetic methods. [Method] Ninety cases undergoing selective operation were divided into three groups randomly,Ketamine with compound lidocaine cream was used n group A.Ketamine and penis root block were applied in group B.Ketamine only was in group C.The effect of anesthesia was observed during the operation.[Result] The effect of anesthesia in group A and B was significantly superior to group C(P0.01).The time of consciousness recovery in group A and B was less than that in group C(P0.01).The difficulty of operation in group B was significantly higher than that in group A and C(P0.01).[Conclusion] Compound lidocaine cream has apparently advantage to be used in pediatric circumcision.

Abstract: [Objective] To assess the efficacy and safety of regional heparin,heparin-free and low molecular weight heparin(LMWH) anticoagulation in hemodialysis patients with high risk of bleeding.[Methods] Twenty-two patients were randomized in this study and divided into three groups,six patients in regional heparin group,eight patients in heparin-free group and eight patients in LMWH group.The incidence of bleeding and the dialyser coagulation as well as Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time(APTT) and the platelet count were observed at the baseline and after hemodialysis.Hemodialysis parameters including eKt/V,vascular flow rate,ultrafiltration and transmembrane pressure(TMP) were also documented.[Results] Every group performed forty hemodialysis sessions.The incidence of bleeding was 5%,5% and 12.5%(P0.05) in the three groups.eKt/V value was 1.25±0.41,1.19±0.23 and 1.22±0.35(P0.05) respectively.GradeⅠcoagulation of dialyser was 5%,20% and 10%(P0.05).Ultraliftration,vascular flow rate and TMP in heparin-free group significantly increased,compared with the other two groups(P0.05).APTTs at the baseline and after hemodialysis in LMWH group were(33±4) s and(45±5) s(P0.05).There was no change in APTT and the platelet count between the baseline and hemodialysis in the other two groups.[Conclusion] In hemodialysis patients suffering from high risk of bleeding,the all three methods of anticoagulation show the satisfactory efficiency.In comparison with the two other groups,regional heparin anticoagulation is a safe and feasible alternative.

Abstract: [Objective] Heat preservation during operation has always been a challenge to anesthesiologist and nurseWe studied the effects of the comprehensive heat preservation methods on body temperature and hemodynamics of patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery[Methods] Forty patients,scheduled for selective laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery,were randomly divided into two groups:20 patients in group A warmed with the comprehensive heat preservation methods during operation;20 patients in group B warmed with the routine heat preservation methods during operationThe central and peripheral temperatures were monitored and hemodynamics parameters were recorded at different operation time points[Results] Compared with group A,the body temperature of patients in group B was significantly lower at CO2 pneumoperitoneum 10 min,surgery ending and postoperative 3 h(P001);SBP,DBP and HR of patients in group A were significantly increased at the pneumoperitoneum 10 min and surgery ending(P005)[Conclusion] Comprehensive warming methods are effective in preventing in-operative hypothermia,and in keeping stable hemodynamicsIt is a safe,non-irrateting and no side effects method

Abstract: [Objective] To compare the efficacy and prognosis of treatment between thrombus aspiration and conventional procedures during primary percutaneous coronary intervention(PPCI) in ST elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) patients with coronary thrombus.[Methods] From February 2007 to August 2009,total 164 consecutive patients during PPCI were randomized to take initial treatment with thrombus aspiration first(D group) and conventional PCI(P group).[Results] None of them had device-related complications.Compared to P group,D group achieved better results in TIMI thrombus grade(P=0.011),TIMI Frame Count(P=0.002) without reflow phenomenon(9.6 % vs 26.4%,P=0.008),and more lumen diameter[(3.24±0.365) mm vs(3.11±0.30) mm,P=0.01],less stent length[(24.26 ±11.45)mm vs(29.19 ±13.69)mm,P=0.002].Ejection fraction(EF%) of D group was improved[(51.73±7.55) vs(47.75±8.18),P=0.002] in 1 week.Cumulative Survival with MACE free in D group was significant higher than that in P group(90.4% vs 75.8%,P=0.016) in 1 year follow-up.[Conclusions] Compared with conventional PCI,initial treatment thrombus aspiration first in patients with STEMI and coronary thrombus is safe and effective and improves prognosis in the patients.

Abstract: [Objective] To evaluate the effect of Ahmed glaucoma valve(AGV) implantation for refractory glaucoma,and to prevent the complications[Methods] Twenty-three patients underwent Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation were summarized retrospectivelyThe visual acuity,intraocular pressure,postoperative complications and the effective rate were observed comparativelyThe mean period of follow-up was 6-18 months[Results] The postoperative best corrected visual acuities were stable in 8 eyes,dropped in 3 eyes and improved in 12 eyesThe success rate for intraocular pressure was 8696% after the operationThe common postoperative complications included transient flat anterior chamber and high intraocular pressure in early stage,hyphema,and fibrination in late stage[Conclusion] Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation is one of the effective methods for refractory glaucoma

Abstract: [Objective] To investigate the effects of two different bowel preparation methods in the prevention of the complications following prostate biopsy.[ Methods] All of 98 patients with suspected prostate cancer were divided into A and B groups.All patients received routine bowel preparation for 2~3 days,took oral antibiotics,began fasting after 8 the night before.The patients in group A received oral cathartic agent but not enema,while those in group B received oral cathartic agent and routine cleansing enema in the morning before biopsy.[Results] In group A,63.6% patients(35 of 55) had complications,including 2 patients with fever(T38 ℃) and chill(3.6%);in group B,67.4% patients(29 of 43) had complications,including 2 patients with fever(4.7%),one of them expressing chill(2.3%).[Conclusion] The prebiopsy enemas might not decrease overall rates of complication in patients with prostate biopsy.
