TL;DR: A dc-coupled wind/hydrogen/super capacitor hybrid power system is studied and it is found that the “source-following” strategy has better performances on the grid power regulation than the ‘grid- followinging’ strategy.
Abstract: Classical wind energy conversion systems are usually passive generators. The generated power does not depend on the grid requirement but entirely on the fluctuant wind condition. A dc-coupled wind/hydrogen/super capacitor hybrid power system is studied in this paper. The purpose of the control system is to coordinate these different sources, particularly their power exchange, in order to make controllable the generated power. As a result, an active wind generator can be built to provide some ancillary services to the grid. The control system should be adapted to integrate the power management strategies. Two power management strategies are presented and compared experimentally. We found that the “source-following” strategy has better performances on the grid power regulation than the “grid-following” strategy.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a system that automatically sense all the different parameters like temperature, humidity and soil moisture which will be helpful in monitoring agricultural activities, which can be performed using Wi-fi module (ESP-8266) connected to IOT server.
Abstract: In India about 70% of the total population depends upon farming and one-third of the nation’s capital comes from the farming. Issues concerning agriculture have been always hindering the development of the country. The only solution to this problem is Smart agriculture. This project will automatically sense all the different parameters like temperature, humidity and soil moisture which will be helpful in monitoring agricultural activities. The data (i.e. temperature values, humidity and soil moisture) will be uploaded to the cloud server where we can monitor the activities occurring in the agriculture site. This can be performed using Wi-fi module (ESP-8266) connected to IOT server. GSM module is also connected to the micro-controller for receiving alert messages. Because of its energy autonomy and low cost, the system has the potential to be useful in water limited geographically isolated areas.

TL;DR: In this article, a microgrid consisting of different distributed generation (DG) units that are connected to the distribution grid is proposed, and an energy management algorithm is implemented to coordinate the operations of the different DG units in the microgrid for grid-connected and islanded operations.
Abstract: This paper presents a microgrid consisting of different distributed generation (DG) units that are connected to the distribution grid. An energy-management algorithm is implemented to coordinate the operations of the different DG units in the microgrid for grid-connected and islanded operations. The proposed microgrid consists of a photovoltaic (PV) array which functions as the primary generation unit of the microgrid and a proton-exchange membrane fuel cell to supplement the variability in the power generated by the PV array. A lithium-ion storage battery is incorporated into the microgrid to mitigate peak demands during grid-connected operation and to compensate for any shortage in the generated power during islanded operation. The control design for the DG inverters employs a new model predictive control algorithm which enables faster computational time for large power systems by optimizing the steady-state and the transient control problems separately. The design concept is verified through various test scenarios to demonstrate the operational capability of the proposed microgrid, and the obtained results are discussed.
