Abstract: Four species of herbs (dry)-Rheum officinale, Andrographis paniculata, Isatis indigotica and Lonicera japonica-were employed. Each species, at the weight ratio of 1% diet, was decocted three times and every time for 60 min. The three times of solution were concentrated, and mixed with the diets (mixed diets). The Carassius auratus gibelio were fed with the mixed diets, respectively, for 28 d and then stopped to eat normal diet. For the four groups of R.officinale, A.paniculata, I.indigotica and L.japonica, the phagocytic activities of white blood cell in C.auratus gibelio increased notably, and the phagocytosis percentage (PP ) was significantly higher than the control (normal diet) 4 d after the mixed diets were fed (P0.01). The phagocytic index (PI ) was significantly different compared with the control 4 d after the treatment and extremely significantly different 7 d after the treatment. Ten days after the fish stopped feeding the mixed diets, their PP and PI were both significantly higher than control (P0.01). Also, the lysozyme activities in the serum and the body surface mucus increased obviously that after feeding the mixed diets for 7 d, the fish all had extremely significant difference in lysozyme activity compared with control but this significant difference disappeared 10 d after the fish stopped feeding mixed diet (P0.05).

TL;DR: Molecular data were used in parallel with morphological characters to resolve the taxonomic problems of green tide algae and showed that all samples have typical Morphological characters of Enteromorpha, such as distinct thalli and branches.
Abstract: Green tide is one of the major environmental problems over the world. Ulva and Enteromorpha are two of the best known marine green alga genera, which widely distribute in marine, freshwater and brackish environments throughout the world and are responsible for widespread green tides. Approximately 80 species are now included in Enteromorpha genera,of which only 11 species are currently recognized in China. A large-scale green tide occurred in the middle and south area of Yellow Sea in June,2008. The green tide algae were classifi ed as Enteromorpha genera from their morphological characteristics, but their taxonomy at species level was uncertain and became the most controversial issue. In this study, molecular data were used in parallel with morphological characters to resolve the taxonomic problems. Twenty-two samples from Yellow Sea and one free- floating sample from Zhanqiao of Qingdao have been studied. The segment selected for molecular phylogenetic analysis were internal transcribed spacers (ITS1 and ITS2) and 5.8S rDNA gene. The results show that all samples have typical morphological characters of Enteromorpha, such as distinct thalli and branches. And the section view showed that all samples form hollow tubes of one cell thick, and the cells particularly locate in the middle of the tube. But they are different in thallus length and width, cell size and colour which are from dark green to light green, and to yellow-green. Molecular phylogenetic analysis was used to test whether they belong to the same species. All the 23 ITS and 5.8S rDNA sequences are identical and they clustered in the same clade with Enteromorpha prolifera in the phylogenetic tree based on the sequences of ITS and 5.8S rDNA,indicating that they belong to the same species of Enteromorpha prolifera.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper reviewed the migration of the Larimicht polyactis in Chinese coastal waters based on catch data, fish group movement and oceanographical background, and found that there are two migratory groups in the investigation area.
Abstract: This paper reviewed the migration of the Larimicht polyactis in Chinese coastal waters based on catch data, fish group movement and oceanographical backgroundWe referred to the statistic results from over 10 major fishery companies from 1971 to 1982 and the study after 1965The results showed that there are two migratory groups in the investigation areaThe Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea groups overwintered near waters of 36°00″N,123°00″E in winter, then migrated towards the Bohai gulfs,Haiyang Island,Yalv estuary and Haizhou Gulf for spawningAfter spawning, they feed in the middle of Bohai Sea from August to October, and then migrated again across the Chengshantou towards to the wintering ground in the Yellow Sea againAnother one is Yellow Sea and East China Sea(ECS)group, and its main wintering grounds, influenced by warm currents, were located at west of Juje,as well as mid and mid-southern of ECSTheir spawning migration past firstly through the waters of 3200°N,1233°to 1243°E)in the middle of ECS towards to Zhoushan Fishing Ground, where they merged with another spawning group northwards from the southern nearshore, and then the mixed group spawned in Zhoushan partlyAnother part moved to Estuary of Yangtze River and Lvsi Fish Ground to spawnAfter spawning, fish groups continuously moved to Dasha Fishing Ground for feedingAfter October, majority fishes in group migrated eastward back to wintering ground in offshore, some others move southwards via out side of forbidden fishing line to the mid-southern wintering ground in nearshoreRoutine of spawning migration and wintering migration was different waysIn addition, apart from above major migration and spawning group, there were part groups from the outside of forbidden fishing line to coastal spawning ground in nearThey migrated spawning to the closest islands, estuary and gulf then returning to where they left for feeding and wintering

TL;DR: The experimental results indicated that the aetivities of digestive enzymes and survival rates of Penaeus vannamei were enhanced by probiotics preparation, which promoted nutrients of diets to be digested, de-composed and absorbed so to accelerate Penaeusvannami to grow better.
Abstract: The basal diet that was made of fish meal, soybean meal-solvent,plant-oil and starch,et al. was regarded as control group without probiotics added in. The trial groups were designed with 4 added levels of probiotics which were maxed with the basai diet. The added levels of probiotics were 0.5%,1.0%,3.0% and 5.0%. The whole ex-periment period was 58 d, and the first 29 d was the first stage, and the latter 29 d was the second stage. γSGR and ac-tivity of digestive enzy mes were examed at both stages by sampling at the end of each stage. The experimental results indicated that all the γSGR of trial groups were higher than that of control group in the first and second stage for Penaeus vannamei. In the first stage, the γSGR in the group of probiotics added level at 0.5% was higher than that in control group ( P 0.05) , but there was no significant differences in γSGR between control group and the other 3 trial groups with added level of probiotics at 1.0% ,3.0% and 5.0% (P 0.05 ) , and among all the trial groups either ( P 0.05); in the second stage, the γSGR in the group with added level of probiotics at 0.5 % was different from that in the group with added level of probiotics at 3.0% ( P 0.05 ) , and significant different from the control and the with group added level of probiotics at 5.0%(P0.01); but no significant difference bet ween the control group and the trial groups except the group with added level of probiotics at 0.5% ( P 0.05 ); survival rates of the trial groups were higher than those in control in both stages. The survival rates were higher in the first stage than in the second stage; the effects of probiotics on aetivities of digestive enzymes beheaved similar trend in both stages:com-pared with the control group, the aetivities of digestive enzymes affected by probiotics changed clearly in protease, didn' t change clearly in amylase, cellulase and lipase. The aetivities of several digestive enzymes didn' t show any difference in all trial groups. All these results demonstrated that the aetivities of digestive enzymes and survival rates of Penaeus vannamei were enhanced by probiotics preparation, which promoted nutrients of diets to be digested,de-composed and absorbed so to accelerate Penaeus vannamei to grow better.
