Abstract: An index system was constructed on carrying capacity of water and land resource, ecological environment, economy and technology, and social humanity. Then Multilevel Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method was used to study land comprehensive carrying capacity of Jingdezhen City,a resource-exhausted city of Jiangxi Province. The results indicated that the carrying capacity of water and land resource and social humanity were low,so were the carrying capacity of economy and technology and social humanity.Land comprehensive carrying capacity was also in a relatively low degree. The reason lies in that Jingdezhen City was short of water and land resource, whose economy was excessively depending on resource-based industry, and who was lacking in construction of ecological environment and input to human resource.Consequently, measures must be taken to strengthen the management, development and utilization of water and land resource, control the environment pollution, accelerate the economy transformation and technological development, and reinforce the talent input.
