TL;DR: In this paper, lockup options and collar offers in bank merger transactions are important terms in determining the bid premiums offered to the target, after controlling for the salient financial and deal-specific variables.
Abstract: As finance literature suggests, an option is valuable. The major finding of this study is that lockup options and collar offers in bank merger transactions are important terms in determining the bid premiums offered to the target, after controlling for the salient financial and deal-specific variables. The findings are somewhat consistent with Burch(2001) and Fuller(2003). This paper also finds that synergy is positively related to merger premiums, but the effect is significant only in intrastate mergers when large banks takeover relatively smaller banks. The structure cf the dealt pooling vs. purchase) and the credit quality of the target bank's portfolio seems to affect the target's value in bank takeover markets.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the relationship among beliefs about electronic service quality (E-S-QUAL), consumers' need for uniqueness (CNFU), and beliefs about perceived behavioral control, expectations of important others, and cross-border online purchasing behavioral intention.
Abstract: Using the theory of planned behavior as its basis, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationships among beliefs about electronic service quality (E-S-QUAL); consumers’ need for uniqueness (CNFU); and beliefs about perceived behavioral control, expectations of important others, and cross-border online purchasing behavioral intention. The effects of E-S-QUAL and CNFU on attitude are examined with data collected from Korean consumers who have cross-border online purchasing experience.,The authors evaluate the research model in this study and test the hypotheses using partial least squares, an OLS regression-based estimation method that focuses on predicting independent variables hypothesized to have a causal relationship that maximizes the explanatory variance of the dependent variable.,Analysis of the data emphasizes that beliefs about E-S-QUAL and CNFU positively affect attitudes toward buying online from international sites, which in turn positively affect purchasing intention. Also, beliefs about self-efficacy and normative structure regarding cross-border online purchasing positively affect behavioral intentions.,This paper develops a conceptual model explaining consumers’ intentions to shop online across national borders. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, none of the previous studies have particularly mentioned the associations between beliefs about e-service quality and actual behavioral intentions in the context of cross-border online shopping. Also, the important role of CNFU has been ignored as one of the factors that can affect consumers’ decisions to shop online beyond national borders. In regard to this matter, the authors aim to investigate cross-border online shopping factors that can help international e-commerce gain a better understanding of the needs of their consumers.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that in a duopoly model of international market competition, threatened imposition of countervailing duties by a domestic country generally deters a foreign country from subsidizing its exports to the former.
Abstract: This paper shows that in a duopoly model of international market competition, threatened imposition of countervailing duties by a domestic country generally deters a foreign country from subsidizing its exports to the former. To explain the coexistence of export subsidization and the GATT-conform countervailing duty measures, factors such as delay in retaliation, the GATT constraint on the amount of countervailing duties, and voluntary export restraints must be considered. We find that these factors lessen the efficacy of countervailing duty retaliation and therefore fail to deter export subsidization.

TL;DR: It is firmly believed that further research regarding the causal relationship between business task and technology fit and business performance should be conducted in order to enable Korean import and export companies to more effectively and efficiently utilize single window in the future.
Abstract: The global trade environment demands a safe and fast trade clearance system for the sake of trade facilitation and customer satisfaction. These circumstances are also important for the use of single window. I identified how to better use single window by analyzing the factors affecting its use. First, deducted factors affecting the utilization of single window external pressure(demands from trading partners), government support, CEO support, partnership, education and training, task fit and technology fit. As a second step, I analyzed their effects on the efficiency and effectiveness of single window utilization. This analysis was based on a survey of about 200 companies using single window, and the data was then analyzed with a structural equation model. This led to the formulation of the early model based on the Innovation Diffusion Theory, Technology-Task Fit, Task-Technology Fit and Technology Acceptance Model, and then to the Revised Models 1,2,3 and 4. I came to five important conclusions. First, task fit is enhanced when government support, CEO support and education and training on single window are enhanced. Second, as a result from Revised Model 1, task fit is significantly impacted when government support, CEO support, and education and training about single window are enhanced; the more task fit is strengthened, the more business efficiency is strengthened. Third, as a result from Revised Model 2, task fit is better when government support, CEO support, and education and training about single window are improved; the more task fit is strengthened, the more business effectiveness is improved. Fourth, as a result from Revised Model 3, task fit is more developed, when CEO support and education and training about single window are enhanced; the more task fit is developed, the more business efficiency is strengthened. Fifth, as a result from Revised Model 4, task fit is increased when CEO support and education and training about single window are strengthened; the more task fit is increased, the more business effectiveness is improved. I firmly believe that further research regarding the causal relationship between business task and technology fit and business performance should be conducted in order to enable Korean import and export companies to more effectively and efficiently utilize single window in the future.

TL;DR: In this article, a content analysis of reviews produced by online banking users, the study uncovered five determinants of service satisfaction which was confirmed by a Web-based survey of 235 online service users.
Abstract: In seeking customer retention, online firms ron benefit considerably by identifying the key antecedents of overall service satisfaction and understanding the impact of the antecedents on behavioral consequences. Derived from a content analysis of reviews produced by online banking users, the study uncovered five determinants cf service satisfaction which was confirmed by a Web-based survey of 235 online service users. The simultaneous structural equation analysis reveals that these five determinants either directly affect customer behavioral consequences or indirectly influence them through overall satisfaction. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are examined and discussed in depth.
