TL;DR: In this paper, a binuclear oxothiolatorhenium(V) compound, Re2O2(mtp)3, D1, mtpH2=2-(mercaptomethyl)thiophenol, was found to activate molecular oxygen, which has no precedent in oxorhenium catalysis.
