TL;DR: Simulation tests have verified the effectiveness of the improved Canny algorithm for edge detection, based on the double-threshold approach, which detects and connects the edges in accordance to the difference of the gradient direction between the edge and the noise.
Abstract: Because of the high similarity between the gradient magnitudes of low-contrast edge and noise,the conventional Canny algorithm for detection,which is based on the double-threshold to detect and connect edges,damages partly the low-contrast edge though it suppresses noise.An improved Canny algorithm is therefore proposed instead of the double-threshold one,which detects and connects the edges in accordance to the difference of the gradient direction between the edge and the noise,so as to protect efficiently the details of all low-contrast edges with the noise suppressed simultaneously.The new approach is thus superior to the conventional one.Simulation tests have verified the effectiveness of the improved Canny algorithm for edge detection.

Abstract: A generalized fuzzyhyperbolic model (GFHM) was proposed. The model is a generalization of fuzzy hyperbolic model. The process of fuzziness, fuzzy inference and defuzziness can be expressed in the sum of hyperbolic functions of generalization state variables. StoneWeierstrass theorem was used to prove that GFHM can approximate any real continuous functions on a compact sets. GFHM is a universal approximator, and can be used to establish the model for complex system.

Abstract: A similarity model was proposed to measure the si mi larity between sentences. Sentence similarity depends on the morphological simil arity and word order similarity, and the former plays more important role than t he latter. When the clause or the phrase of a sentence moves a long distance, th e model proposed ensures the close similarity of the generated sentence to the s ource. To improve the efficiency of searching for the most similar sentence by t raversal, a search algorithm based on inverted index and sentence length index w as proposed. The algorithm is highly efficient, and the average search time is u nremarkablely affected by the size of the corpora. The sentence similarity model and the search algorithm proposed can be used in large-scale-example-based m achine translation systems.

Abstract: A new method based on support vector machine for predicting rockbursts was proposed.It uses support vector machine to represent nonlinear relationship between rockburst and its factors.This model learns from case histories and then can predict fast the rockburst for similar conditions.Three support vector machine models were established for VCR stope,carbon leader stope and tunnel in deep gold mines,respectively. The models give accurate predictions for the novel conditions.
