TL;DR: Under controlled conditions cobyric acid is obtained directly (10%) by the action of concentrated hydrochloric acid on vitamin B12 by hydrolysis of corrinoids related to Factor Ia.
Abstract: Under controlled conditions cobyric acid is obtained directly (10%) by the action of concentrated hydrochloric acid on vitamin B12. The hydrolysis is complicated not only by the expected formation of other corrinoids of the normal series, but also by the formation of a second series of compounds which are darker than the normal derivatives, and which are related to Factor Ia. Cobinamide and Factor Ia may conveniently be obtained by the action of trifluoroacetic acid upon vitamin B12.

TL;DR: Three further compounds have been isolated from the heartwood of Cordyla africana (Leguminosae) and shown by chemical degradation and spectral considerations to be 6-hydroxy-2′,7-dimethoxy-4′,5′-methylenedioxy-5, 6,6,7,trimethoxy -3′, 4′,4′ methylenediooxy-, and 5,6-7,8-tetramethoxy 3′, 5′, 6.5
Abstract: Three further compounds have been isolated from the heartwood of Cordyla africana(Leguminosae), and shown by chemical degradation and spectral considerations to be 6-hydroxy-2′,7-dimethoxy-4′,5′-methylenedioxy-5,6,7-trimethoxy-3′,4′-methylenedioxy-, and 5,6,7,8-tetramethoxy-3′,4′-methylenedioxy-isoflavone. The mass spectra of these, and related isoflavones are discussed.
