TL;DR: In this article, the authors used fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to select the best supplier firm providing the most satisfaction for the criteria determined by the purchasing managers of a white good manufacturer established in Turkey.
Abstract: A supplier selection decision inherently is a multi‐criterion problem. It is a decision of strategic importance to companies. The nature of this decision usually is complex and unstructured. Management science techniques might be helpful tools for these kinds of decision‐making problems. The aim of this paper is to use fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to select the best supplier firm providing the most satisfaction for the criteria determined. The purchasing managers of a white good manufacturer established in Turkey were interviewed and the most important criteria taken into account by the managers while they were selecting their supplier firms were determined by a questionnaire. The fuzzy AHP was used to compare these supplier firms.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the environmental factors leading to the development of an extended environmental supply chain, and described the elemental differences between the extended supply chain and the traditional supply chain.
Abstract: The supply chain has been traditionally defined as a one‐way, integrated manufacturing process wherein raw materials are converted into final products, then delivered to customers. Under this definition, the supply chain includes only those activities associated with manufacturing, from raw material acquisition to final product delivery. However, due to recent changing environmental requirements affecting manufacturing operations, increasing attention is given to developing environmental management (EM) strategies for the supply chain. This research: (1) investigates the environmental factors leading to the development of an extended environmental supply chain; (2) describes the elemental differences between the extended supply chain and the traditional supply chain; (3) describes the additional challenges presented by the extension; (4) presents performance measures appropriate for the extended supply chain; and (5) develops a general procedure towards achieving and maintaining the green supply chain.

TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive set of fact-based performance measures that can be used to describe accurately a world-class supply chain of plan, source, make and deliver activities is presented.
Abstract: Describes a comprehensive set of fact‐based performance measures that can be used to describe accurately a world‐class supply chain of plan, source, make and deliver activities. Aims to help companies take a broad supply‐chain‐process perspective by quantifying performance improvement opportunities across the entire supply chain. Includes quantitative measures such as cash‐to‐cash cycle time and supply chain response time, as well as qualitative analysis of best‐in‐class performance. Best practice benchmarks provide more insight into how to achieve world‐class performance.

TL;DR: The supply chain operations reference model (SCOR) as mentioned in this paper is the first cross-industry framework for evaluating and improving enterprisewide supply chain performance and management, which is structured in four levels, based on a plan, source, make, deliver framework.
Abstract: The supply‐chain operations reference model (SCOR) is the first cross‐industry framework for evaluating and improving enterprise‐wide supply‐chain performance and management. The culmination of intensive work by 70 world‐class manufacturers, SCOR provides standard process definitions, terminology and metrics. It will enable companies to benchmark themselves against others, and influence future applications development efforts to ensure fit with manufacturers’ needs. The emerging process reference model concept is the logical extension of business process re‐engineering and other process improvement efforts. SCOR, which is structured in four levels, is based on a plan, source, make, deliver framework.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed mechanisms of encryption, protection, authentication, and verification as antecedents of perceived information security in electronic commerce transactions and found that consumers' trust in EC transactions is influenced by perceived security and distinguishes it from the objective assessment of security threats.
Abstract: Electronic commerce (EC) transactions are subject to multiple information security threats. Proposes that consumer trust in EC transactions is influenced by perceived information security and distinguishes it from the objective assessment of security threats. Proposes mechanisms of encryption, protection, authentication, and verification as antecedents of perceived information security. These mechanisms are derived from technological solutions to security threats that are visible to consumers and hence contribute to actual consumer perceptions. Tests propositions in a study of 179 consumers and shows a significant relationship between consumers’ perceived information security and trust in EC transactions. Explores the role of limited financial liability as a surrogate for perceived security. However, the findings show that there is a minimal effect of financial liability on consumers’ trust in EC. Engenders several new insights regarding the role of perceived security in EC transactions.
