Correlation of xpd/ercc2 polymorphism with clinical sensitivity to oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy in advanced colorectal cancer

Abstract: Objective To observe the correlation of XPD/ERCC2 Lys751Gln (C→A,35931) genetic polymorphism with clinical outcome of oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy in patients with advanced colorectal cancer (ACC). MethodsDNA was extracted from peripheral venous blood obtained from 70 patients with stage-Ⅳ ACC before chemotherapy. Real-time PCR was used for single nucleotide polymorphism genotyping of XPD/ERCC2 gene. After oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy, objective response of tumor was compared between different genotypes.ResultsThe mutants and mutation frequency of XPD/ERCC2 Lys751Gln found in this cohort study were: C/C 55.72%, C/A 35.71% and A/A 8.57%. The effective rate of the chemotherapy the patients in this study was 54.29% (CR+PR+SD). The distribution of patients with C/C genotype and patients with C/A+A/A genotype in chemotherapy-effective group (CR+PR+SD) and non-effective group (PD) was significantly different (χ2=7.926,P0.005).ConclusionXPD/ERCC2 Lys751Gln genetic polymorphisms is associated with clinical outcome of oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy in patients with advanced colorectal cancer.

Association between gene polymorphism of alox5ap,cox2,mmp9 and ischemic stroke

Abstract: Objective To explore whether genetic variants in the ALOX5AP gene,COX2 gene and MMP9 gene would synergistically influence the risk of ischemic stroke(IS).Methods Variants of ALOX5AP89G/A,COX2-765G/C,COX2-1195G/A and MMP9-1562C/T in 302 IS patients and 308 healthy controls were detected,and the polymorphisms studied.By using GMDR,the interaction among genes was measured.Results COX2-765GC genotype(adjusted OR=2.650) and COX2-1195GA genotype(adjusted OR=1.565) were associated with the risk of IS.In IS group,C-765A-1195 and G-765G-1195 were higher than that in the control(OR=1.872,1.289),while G-765A-1195 was lower(OR=0.649);The differences of ALOX5AP89G/A and MMP9-1562C/T allele,and genotype frequency between IS and control group were not significant(P0.05).The GMDR analysis showed a statistically significant gene interaction between COX2 and MMP9,but which was not confirmed by Logistic regression analysis.Conclusion In Han people,IS may associate with genetic polymorphism of COX2,and not with ALOX5AP and MMP9.There is probably no interaction of COX2 and MMP9 in IS.

Efficacy of external use of jingfang mixture in the treatment of children with eczema

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Jingfang mixture in treating children with eczema.Me-thods Ninety-five children with acute eczema were randomized to treatment group(48 cases) and control group(47 cases).The mixture was used on affected sites in treatment group,and hydrocortisone butyrate ointment for the control.The course was for 14 days.The therapeutic effect of 3-,7-and 14-day treatment,and the changes of scores before and after medication were observed.Results The symptom score of both the treatment and control groups showed a significant improvement at 3-,7-and 14-day treatment(F=22.407,q=3.460-11.837,P0.01).At day-14,the effective rate was 85.42% for the treatment group,and 87.23% for the control.The differences of symptoms between the two groups,at days 3,7 and 14,were not significant(P0.05).No obvious side reactions were recorded.Conclusion Jingfang mixture is safe and effective in topical use for eczema in children,its efficacy is similar to that of external use of hormone.

Effects of cortex lycii granules co. on serum glucose, lipid and immunologic function

Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of Cortex Lycii Granules Co. on serum glucose, lipid and immunologic function in mice.\ Methods\ Normal and alloxan induced mice were used. Effects of the drug on the 2 groups were compared and analyzed statistically.\ Results\ Cortex Lycii Granules Co. markedly decreased serum glucose in both the normal and alloxan induced mice, serum lipid in normal mice.\ Conclusion\ Cortex Lycii Granules Co. may have a therapeutic action on diabetes.

In-patients with acute myocardial infarction in 1992,1997 and 2002 in jiaonan city——a retrospective investigation

Abstract: ObjectiveTo investigate the epidemiology and treatment of in-patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) in the years of 1992,1997 and 2002 in Jiaonan city,and to provide information on treatment of AMI in this area.Methods(Data of) AMI patients hospitalized in 1992,1997 and 2002 of four city-level hospitals in Jiaonan were analyzed and compared.ResultsA total of 190 patients were investigated.The majority(64.2%) were males and the average age of the onset was from(58.1±)10.3 years to 66.4±10.1 years(F=4.86,q=5.34,P0.05).Hospital-stay days were 27.8±34.1,19.2±11.7,and(13.7±)11.7(F=6.72,q=4.23-5.52,P0.01),for 1992,1997,and 2002,respectively.The mortality decreased dramatically from 43.1% in 1992,26.2% in 1997 to 16.6% in 2002(χ~2=18.92,10.34;P0.01).UCG examination increased year by year,being 11.8%,20.6%,and 27.4%,respectively.The use of β-blocker,ACEI,antiplatelet agents and lipid-lowering drug increased,and the patients receiving calcium antagonists decreased in recent 10 years.The patients receiving thrombolytic treatment was 18.4%,and acute PTCA done in one case in 2002.ConclusionA great progress for AMI therapy has been made in the past ten years.It is important to apply it in clinical practice.
