TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider the extent that the boundaries between different schemes of compensation cause problems for lawyers and injured people and propose reforms that not only lead to the retention of mixed systems of recovery for injury but also add further emphasis to the cause of disability as a basis for compensation.
Abstract: This article considers the extent that the boundaries between different schemes of compensation cause problems for lawyers and injured people. It does so by looking at causation issues in the area of workers compensation in the U.K. Proposed reforms are shown as not only leading to the retention of mixed systems of recovery for injury but also as adding further emphasis to the cause of disability as a basis for compensation.
