TL;DR: HSE has moderate antioxidants and lowest antiaging activities, and myricetin is the most active both antioxidant and anti aging activities.
Abstract: Skin aging is a complex biological process due to intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Free radical oxidative is one of extrinsic factors that induce activation of collagenase, elastase and hyaluronidase. Natural product from plants has been used as antioxidant and antiaging. This study aimed to evaluate antioxidant and antiaging properties of Hibiscus sabdariffa extract (HSE) and its compounds including myricetin, ascorbic acid, and β carotene. The phytochemical of H. sabdariffa was determined using modified Farnsworth method and presence of phenols, flavonoids and tannins were in moderate content, whereas triterpenoids and alkaloids were in low content. Total phenolic content performed using Folin-Ciocalteu method, was 23.85 μg GAE/mg. Quantitative analysis of myricetin, β-carotene, and ascorbic acid of HSE was performed with Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) that shows 78.23 μg/mg myricetin, 0.034 μg/mg β-carotene, whilst ascorbic acid was not detected. HSE has lower activity on DPPH (IC50 = 195.73 μg/mL) compared to β-carotene, the lowest in ABTS assay (IC50 = 74.58 μg/mL) and low activity in FRAP assay (46.24 μM Fe(II)/μg) compared to myricetin, β-carotene. Antiaging was measured through inhibitory activity of collagenase, elastase, and hyaluronidase. HSE had weakest collagenase inhibitory activity (IC50= 750.33 μg/mL), elastase inhibitory activity (103.83 μg/mL), hyaluronidase inhibitory activity (IC50 = 619.43 μg/mL) compared to myricetin, β-carotene, and ascorbic acid. HSE contain higher myricetin compared to β-carotene. HSE has moderate antioxidants and lowest antiaging activities. Myricetin is the most active both antioxidant and antiaging activities.

TL;DR: In this paper, Bistorta manshuriensis was used to extract MeOH from the aerial parts of the aerial part of the plant and two cerebrosides, two lactams, six phenolic compounds and seven flavonoids were identified.
Abstract: Phytochemical investigation of the MeOH extract of the aerial parts of Bistorta manshuriensis resulted in the isolation of two cerebrosides, two lactams, six phenolic compounds and seven flavonoids Their chemical structures were characterized by spectroscopic methods to be pinelloside (1), soyacerebroside I (2), pterolactam (3), 5-hydroxypyrrolidine-2-one (4), vanillic acid (5), caffeic acid methyl ester (6), protocatechuic acid (7), caffeic acid (8), 3,5-di-O-caffeoyl quinic acid methyl ester (9), chlorogenic acid methyl ester (10), avicularin (11), afzelin (12), quercetin (13), isoorientin (14), quercetin 3-O--D-glucoside (15), quercitrin (16), and luteolin (17) The isolated compounds (1 - 4, 7, 12, 14) were isolated for the first time from this plant source and the compounds 1 - 4, 9 and 10 were first reported from the genus Bistorta Compound 17 exhibited moderate cytotoxicity and compound 6 exhibited weak cytotoxicity against four human cancer cell lines in vitro using an SRB bioassay

TL;DR: Phytochemicals from Rubus coreanus that were able to disrupt ERα and coactivator interaction with an ERα antagonist were investigated and indicated that sanguiin H6 contributed to the estrogenic activity of R. coreanus through the activation of the ERα coActivator-binding site.
Abstract: A popular approach for the study of estrogen receptor α inhibition is to investigate the protein-protein interaction between the estrogen receptor (ER) and the coactivator surface. In our study, we investigated phytochemicals from Rubus coreanus that were able to disrupt ERα and coactivator interaction with an ERα antagonist. The E-screen assay and molecular docking analysis were performed to evaluate the effects of the estrogenic activity of R. coreanus extract and its constituents on the MCF-7 human breast cancer cell line. At 100 μg/mL, R. coreanus extract significantly stimulated cell proliferation (574.57 ± 8.56%). Sanguiin H6, which was isolated from R. coreanus, demonstrated the strongest affinity for the ERα coactivator-binding site in molecular docking analysis, with a binding energy of -250.149. The initial results of the study indicated that sanguiin H6 contributed to the estrogenic activity of R. coreanus through the activation of the ERα coactivator-binding site.

TL;DR: The anti-oxidant activities of decursinol angelate (1) and Decursin (2) isolated from Angelica gigas were investigated in rats as discussed by the authors, where two coumarins exhibited decrease in serum transaminase activities elevated by hepatic damage induced by in rats.
Abstract: The anti-oxidant activities of decursinol angelate (1) and decursin (2) isolated from Angelica gigas were investigated These two coumarins exhibited decrease in serum transaminase activities elevated by hepatic damage induced by in rats They also showed increase in anti-oxidant enzyme such as hepatic cytosolic superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-px) in rats These results suggest that decursinol angelate (1) and decursin (2) from A gigas possess not only the anti-oxidant, but also the hepatoprotective activities in rats

TL;DR: The new assay method was developed by using young chicks instead of frogs for screening of anti-emetic compounds from natural sources and showed completely parallel results but also decreasing standard errors.
Abstract: The new assay method was developed by using young chicks instead of frogs for screening of anti-emetic compounds from natural sources. Comparing with our previous method using leopard and ranid frogs, the advantages of the new method were not only completely parallel results but also decreasing standard errors. Hinesol and eudesmol were isolated from MeOH extract of Atractylodes lancea rhizome as the anti-emetic principles.
