TL;DR: Asymptomatic reactivation of herpesvirus infections does not significantly affect the changes in immune status indicators, and the absence of clinical manifestations, and significant changes in General and biochemical blood tests cause epidemiological risks associated with difficulties in identifying the sources of infection.
Abstract: Objective. The aim of the study is to investigate the peculiarities of changes in the immune status of individuals with active and latent forms of herpesvirus infections. Herpesvirus infections are an urgent problem of modern health care. Materials and methods. The prospective longitudinal cohort study included 92 permanent blood donors who were examined twice at 6-month intervals for the presence of specific IgM and IgG antibodies and antigens of herpes simplex viruses 1, 2, Epstein-Barr, cytomegalovirus, human herpesvirus type 6, as well as humoral immunity indicators. Results. In the period from October to April, 68.5 % of blood and its components donors were found to have markers of active herpesvirus infection caused by HSV 1, 2, EBV, CMV, and HHV6. The combination of the detected markers in the absence of clinical manifestations and changes in General and biochemical blood tests indicated asymptomatic reactivation of latent infection. The frequency of reactivations in the autumn and spring months is the same. The absence of IgG production after asymptomatic reactivation of HSV-2 and HHV-6 infections and an increase in IgG concentrations to HSV-1, EBV, and CMV were revealed. EBV infection is the most common among the studied nosologies (98.91 %) and is characterized by statistically significantly higher levels of specific IgG. The effect of asymptomatic reactivation of herpesvirus infections on the levels of total IDA, IgM, IgG, IDE, and CEC was not established. Conclusions. Asymptomatic reactivation of herpesvirus infections does not significantly affect the changes in immune status indicators, and the absence of clinical manifestations, and significant changes in General and biochemical blood tests cause epidemiological risks associated with difficulties in identifying the sources of infection.

TL;DR: The article presents a review of literature on the identification of various factors, forming health of children during the first year of life, and suggests joint efforts of pediatricians and parents will significantly improve the quality of life of a child without significant financial costs.
Abstract: The aim was to study the risk factors, forming the health status of children during the first year of life. The article presents a review of literature on the identification of various factors, forming health of children during the first year of life. The growing morbidity rate among the child population makes it urgent to find methods for improving children’s health including early diagnosis, so as to eliminate or reduce the impact of risk factors. In the current conditions, it is possible to affect significantly the health of children, in experts’ opinion, from the standpoint of a systematic analysis of the totality of socio-economic causes and risk factors. The joint efforts of pediatricians and parents will significantly improve the quality of life of a child without significant financial costs, thus, reducing family costs, spent for treatment and rehabilitation activities.

TL;DR: The method of ultrasound elastometry is offered as an alternative to puncture biopsy of the liver, however, it also has some technical limits that resulted in development of noninvasive methods of hepatic fibrosis/cirrhosis diagnosis.
Abstract: The problems of hepatic fibrosis/cirrhosis diagnosis are discussed in the paper. At the modern stage, diagnosis of chronic hepatic diseases is based on laboratory, instrumental, morphological methods of study and calculated indices. Puncture biopsy of the liver is referred to the most reliable diagnostic methods. However, there are some complexities while implementing this procedure, which do not permit to use morphological studies for dynamic observation. The method of ultrasound elastometry is offered as an alternative to puncture biopsy of the liver. However, it also has some technical limits that resulted in development of noninvasive, in particular, laboratory methods of hepatic fibrosis/cirrhosis diagnosis.

TL;DR: The role of leptin in the pathogenesis of obesity complications such as liver steatosis, steatohepatitis and endothelial dysfunction is summarized.
Abstract: According to the latest WHO data, in the world there are 2 billion adults and 381 million children and adolescents from 0 to 19 years old, who are overweight or obese. This is due to the presence of many factors affecting the occurrence and development of this disease. One of the important links in the pathogenesis of obesity is hyperleptinemia in combination with leptin resistance. In this article, we attempted to summarize the information on the role of leptin in the pathogenesis of obesity complications such as liver steatosis, steatohepatitis and endothelial dysfunction. Parallels have been drawn between insulin resistance and leptin resistance. The relationship of leptin and insulin was analyzed, and data on the effect of these hormones on carbohydrate and fat metabolism are also presented.

TL;DR: The authors paid special attention to the features of the clinical manifestations of osteomyelitis and its spread, and identified clinically important focal changes in osteomyeelitis.
Abstract: According to the literature data, the article considers the occurrence and development of acute and chronic osteomyelitis. The basic principles of classification and terminology are presented. The authors paid special attention to the features of the clinical manifestations of osteomyelitis and its spread, identified clinically important focal changes in osteomyelitis. The etiology, pathogenesis and features of pathophysiology with a different mechanism for the development of osteomyelitis are considered. The moments, affecting the formation of orthopedic outcomes in the form of deformations, shortening of limbs are noted. The authors examined the complications and tactical features in the treatment of the effects of osteomyelitis. The importance of a systematic approach to treatment, the determination of the stages and their contents, taking into account the main process and the anatomical and functional expediency, are accentuated.
