TL;DR: Bacterial cellulose as discussed by the authors : Cluconacetobacter xylinus (CLUconacetolbactersp.xylinus) is a type of cellulose.
Abstract: Bacterial cellulose는 초산균인 Cluconacetobacter xylinus에 의해 생산되며. 배양 배지의 표면에 나노섬유상의 막을 형성한다. 본 연구에서는 배지의 조성에서 탄소원을 달리하여 생산한 bacterial cellulose의 결정화도 점도 모폴로지와 역학적 물성을 살펴보았다. Cluconacetolbactersp.

TL;DR: In this paper, two types of polymers were tested; poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) as a synthetic example and poly(lactic acid) (PLA) as natural polymer.
Abstract: Two types of polymers were tested in this study; poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) as a synthetic example and poly(lactic acid) (PLA) as a natural polymer. DSC analyses showed that the use of nanofiller increased the degree of crystallinity () of both PET and PLA polymers, but the effect was more noticeable on PET nanocomposites. The crystallization of PLA and PET nanocomposites occurred at higher temperatures in comparison to neat polymers. According to dynamic mechanical-thermal analysis (DMTA), the damping factor of PET/ nanoparticles decreased compared to the neat matrix, but for PLA nanocomposites the opposite trend was observed. Results of the mechanical test showed that for both PET and PLA nanocomposites, the most successful toughening effect was observed at 3 wt% loading of nanoparticles. SEM micrographs revealed uniform distribution of nanoparticles at 1 and 3 wt% loading levels. The results of WAXD spectra explained that the polymorphs of PLA and PET was not affected by nanoparticles. UV-visible spectra showed that nanocomposite films had high ultraviolet shielding compared to neat polymer, but there was significant reduction in transparency.

TL;DR: In this article, three different types of additives, thiokol, epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) and epoxedized linseed oil (ELO), were dispersed in an epoxy matrix before being used in glass fiber composites, and their effects on the mechanical and dielectric properties of epoxy resin and glass fiber reinforced epoxy composites (GF/EP) were examined.
Abstract: Three different types of additives, thiokol, epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) and epoxidized linseed oil (ELO), were dispersed in an epoxy matrix before being used in glass fiber (GF) composites, and their effects on the mechanical and dielectric properties of epoxy resin and glass fiber reinforced epoxy composites (GF/EP) were examined. The addition of each of 7 phr ENR, 9 phr ELO and 5 phr thiokol into the epoxy resin increased the fracture toughness significantly by 56.9, 43.1, and 80.0%, respectively, compared to the unmodified resin. The mode I interlaminar fracture toughness of the GF/EP at propagation was also improved by 26.9, 18.3 and 32.7% when each of 7 phr ENR, 9 phr ELO, and 5 phr thiokol, respectively, was dispersed in the epoxy matrix. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the additives reduced crack growth in the GF/EP, whereas their dielectric measurements showed that all these additives had no additional effect on the real permittivity and loss factor of the GF/EP.

TL;DR: In this article, the BDDE (1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether) was used to extract the hyaluronic acid (HA) from the diglycitric acid.

TL;DR: In this article, the phase change material (PCM) was applied to polystyrene (PS) particles and the morphology and particle features were analyzed by scanning electron microscope and particle size analyzer, respectively.
Abstract: Polystyrene (PS) particles containing the phase change material (PCM) were synthesized by miniemulsion polymerization. The polymer particles prepared with different parameters were investigated in terms of average particle size, particle distribution, and latent heat storage of encapsulated paraffin wax (PW) as PCM. The morphology and particle features of PS particles were analyzed by scanning electron microscope and particle size analyzer, respectively. As a result, the diameters of PS particles were adjusted with manufacturing conditions. The stable and spherical PS particles of nanosize were obtained by miniemulsion polymerization, which could be attributed to the prevention of Ostwald ripening by cosurfactant. Thermal properties of PS particle containing PCM were studied by differential scanning calorimetry. From DSC freeze-thaw cycle, PCM coated with PS exhibited the thermal energy storage and release behaviors, and the latent heat was found to be a maximum 145 J/g. It was noted that PS particles containing PCM showed a good potential as a thermal energy storage medium.
