TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the emergence of the sounds of speech in infancy and describe infant vocalizations during the first year of life, including the use of fully resonant nuclei (FRN) vowel-like elements.
Abstract: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the emergence of the sounds of speech in infancy and describes infant vocalizations during the first year of life. Beginning about the fifth month, there are a number of vocalization types that regularly appear in the normal infant's controlled repertoire. One of the major occurrences of the expansion stage is the widespread repetitive usage of fully resonant nuclei (FRN) vowel-like elements that systematically include strong resonances above 1200 Hz. Isolated occurrences of FRNs without closures or other consonant-like elements cannot be the most frequent vocalizations at any stage. The usage of the vocalization types of the expansion stage fluctuates radically from day to day. The infant can produce many exemplars of one category on one day and none of the same category on the next day. The relatively rigid timing characteristics of syllabification in natural languages are introduced into the child's vocalization system at the onset of canonical babbling (BB). BB includes both consonant-like units and FRNs in a timing relationship that conforms to mature natural language restrictions.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a structure to conduct case studies and suggest a set of recommendations to its research planning and conduction, as well as some reflections and propositions for future studies in order to keep on with these efforts for continuous improvement in the study of methodological approaches for production engineering.
Abstract: One of the growing concerns in the production engineering and operations management not only in developed countries but also in Brazil is relatively to the research methodological approaches, among which case research is one of the most frequently adopted. However, the suitable conduction of a case study is not a simple task and, frequently, the research is subjected to criticism due to methodological limitations. In this sense, this work proposes a structure to conduct case studies and suggests a set of recommendations to its research planning and conduction. Finally, some important points are raised as well as some reflections and propositions for future studies in order to keep on with these efforts for continuous improvement in the study of methodological approaches for production engineering.

TL;DR: The purposes of this paper are to review recent research on the use of control charts to monitor process and product quality profiles and to encourage further research in this area.
Abstract: In many applications the quality of a process or product is best characterized and summarized by a functional relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables. Profile monitoring is used to understand and to check the stability of this relationship over time. At each sampling stage one observes a collection of data points that can be represented by a curve (or profile). In some calibration applications, the profile can be represented adequately by a simple linear regression model, while in other applications more complicated models are needed. The purposes of this paper are to review recent research on the use of control charts to monitor process and product quality profiles and to encourage further research in this area.

TL;DR: In this paper, a discussion about the relationship between trabalho and subjetividade can be found, on the other hand, on a discussion between a teoria psicodinâmica do trabalhar, onde a centralidade do trabho and um dos seus alicerces and a TEIA psicanalitica onde esta questao nao e abordada diretamente.

TL;DR: The past, present, and future of business logistics and supply chain management are discussed in this article, where the past and present are divided into three sections: present, present and future.
Abstract: This article will be divided into three sections: past, present, and future. The past section will trace major events that created business logistics as it is practiced today. In particular, do the events portend the future of business logistics and supply chain management? The present section will attempt to summarize the state of business logistics. How business logistics relates to supply chain management will be addressed. The future section will make some predictions as to the issues that need to be addressed and the events that will likely take place in the near term.
