TL;DR: In this paper, positive psychology is presented as a movement that proposes the investigation of potentially healthy aspects of human beings in opposition to traditional psychology and its emphasis in psychopathology, and resilience is distinguished by its references to processes that explain bouncing back to adversities whose hegemonic discourse is focused on the individual.
Abstract: The present work presents positive psychology as a movement that proposes the investigation of potentially healthy aspects of human beings in opposition to traditional psychology and its emphasis in psychopathology. Among the phenomena that indicate healthy life, resilience is distinguished by its references to processes that explain bouncing back to adversities whose hegemonic discourse is focused on the individual. The quantitative studies have contributed to the naturalization of resilience as a human capacity, and the family studies were identified as based on qualitative data within systemic, ecological and developmental perspectives. Having considered the methodological difficulties and the ideological controversies of the concept it is suggested a cautious investigation of meaning before the application of the term.

TL;DR: The SRCOPE Scale (SRCOPE) as discussed by the authors is a validated scale based on the RCOPE Scale that assesses both positives and negatives aspects of SRC, resulting in a comprehensive, functional oriented, theoretical and empirically based, and clinically meaningful instrument, useful to different scientific research areas.
Abstract: The spiritual/religious coping (SRC) refers to the way people use faith to cope with stress and has been associated with improvements in qu ality o f life a nd phy sical and mental health. The aim of this article was to d escribe the e laboration and construct validation p rocess of the Spiritual/Religious Coping Scale (SRCOPE Scale), the first i nstrument t o measure SRC in Brazil, based on RCOPE Scale (Pargament & cols., 2000). The study comprehended two phases: (1) translation, adaptation and pilot test (N=50); (2) field test (N=616) and construct validation. Factorial, internal consistency and correlation analysis indicated SRCOPE Scale a s a valid and reliable instrument. It assesses both positives and negatives aspects of SRC, resulting in a comprehensive, functional oriented, theoretical and empirically based, and clinically meaningful instrument, useful to different scientific research areas.

Abstract: This paper presents a literature review about socialization practices and parental styles in familiar context, aiming to analyze them as risk and protective potential factors for physical abuse, based on ecological perspective of human development Several factors are analyzed at familiar, personal and social perspectives, such as individual characteristics, parents’ experience in their families of origin, social support network, and stressful life events The comprehension of these factors may subsidize both intervention programs and prevention of cases of physical abuse in families, and also to encourage new research

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the issues of risk, protection and resilience in mental development, pointing out factors that can make an individual more or less vulnerable to risk, and also, the way some can be resilient when facing the adversities.
Abstract: Risk, protection and resilience are current issues in mental development researches. Risk factor concept is already well Risk, protection and resilience are current issues in mental development researches. Risk factor concept is already well delimited, but protection factors and resilience are still mixed. Risk factors are related to environmental variables that increase the probability of bad consequences in development. On the other hand, the protection factors are associated to individual resources that decrease the risk effects, while resilience is usually related to individual protection factors that predict positive consequences in individuals exposed to an environment of risk. This paper shows how some studies describe those issues (risk, protection and resilience), pointing factors that can make an individual more or less vulnerable to risk, and also, the way some can be resilient when facing the adversities. That is, how some children and adolescents can overcome all the risk factors they have been exposed to and still develop as expected.
