TL;DR: Inhibition of growth of pathogenic gram positive and gram negative micro organisms exposed to two different isolated components of ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera was used as an index for assessment of its antimicrobial activity.
Abstract: Inhibition of growth of pathogenic gram positive and gram negative micro organisms exposed to two different isolated components of ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera was used as an index for assessment of its antimicrobial activity. Well diffusion method was used against the Staphylococcus aureus (S.a) Escherichia coli (E.c), Candida albicans and Aspergillus flavus at various concentrations. The two components were active towards both bacterial and fungal stains. Response of the bacterial isolates varied with concentration. For both the components the gram negative Escherichia coli responded more markedly than gram positive Staphylococcus aureus. Aspergillus flavus was more active than Candida albicans.

TL;DR: The presented review summarizes the information concerning the botany, ethnopharmacology, phytpchemistry, biological activity and toxicity of the Vitex negundo shrubs.
Abstract: Vitex negundo Linn. is an large shrubs or small trees which is used in several traditional medicines to cure various diseases. This shrub has been known to posses hepatoprotective, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antifungal activity. A wide range of chemical compounds including polyphenolic, terpenoids, glycosidic iridoids and alkaloids are present in this shrubs. Vitegnoside, negundoside, agunside, 5,3dihydroxy-7,8,4-trimethoxy flavanone, 7,8-dimethyl herbacetin 3-rhamnoside etc. have been isolated from this plant. The presented review summarizes the information concerning the botany, ethnopharmacology, phytpchemistry, biological activity and toxicity of the Vitex negundo shrubs.

TL;DR: The present review is focused on the phytochemical and pharmacological studies of the Datura stramonium.
Abstract: Datura stramonium (Solanaceae) is an important medicinal plant from which tropane alkaloids, amino acids, tannin, phytic acids, carbohydrates have been isolated. Its diverse biological activities include anti-asthmatic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, larvacidal, antispasmodic, antioxidant, antinociceptive, anti-rheumatoid and anti-ulcer activities. It is used in indigenous and traditional folk medicine system in almost all parts of the World. The present review is focused on the phytochemical and pharmacological studies of the Datura stramonium.

TL;DR: Findings confirm the great interest of the Premna serratifolia whose phytochemistry and phytopharmacology should be investigated further in order to detect possible phytotherapeutic uses in the prevention of ageing related diseases, cardiovascular disorders and Alzheimer disease.
Abstract: Premna serratifolia Lin., is widely used in Ayurvedic system medicine for the treatment of cardiovascular disorders, arthritis, inflammation etc. The stem-bark and stem-wood were extracted with 95% ethanol and double distilled water and these extracts were screened for their in-vitro antioxidant potential. Inhibition of oxygen-derived free radicals, viz., assays for free radical scavenging by DPPH, reducing power ability and nitric oxide scavenging were performed. All the antioxidant activities were compared with standard antioxidant such as ascorbic acid. Both the extracts of this plant showed effective free radical scavenging activity, reducing power and nitric oxide scavenging activity. All these antioxidant properties were concentration dependent. The highest antioxidant activity was observed with ethanol extracts. Preliminary phytochemical screening revealed the presence of flavonoids, steroids, alkaloids, glycosides and phenolic compounds in the extracts and the results obtained from the current study indicate that Premna serratifolia Lin., is a potential source of natural antioxidants and the extracts have constituents which were capable of showing anti-oxidant activity and the said in-vitro anti-oxidant activity may also be due to the presence of anti-oxidant principles present in the extracts like flavonoids and phenolic compounds. These findings confirm the great interest of the Premna serratifolia whose phytochemistry and phytopharmacology should be investigated further in order to detect possible phytotherapeutic uses in the prevention of ageing related diseases, cardiovascular disorders and Alzheimer disease.

TL;DR: The extracellular L-asparaginase production by fungi isolated from soil samples by using pH and dye based method and optimum for maximum yield was found.
Abstract: The extracellular L-asparaginase production by fungi isolated from soil samples by using pH and dye based method. Various physical and chemical parameters were optimized under submerged fermentation for Lasparaginase production. Maximum productivity of L-asparaginase (19.5 U/ml) was achieved by employing medium containing 2% (w/v) Lasparagine as substrate concentration, 1%(w/v) glucose as carbon source, 1% (w/v) ammonium sulphate as an additional nitrogen source with the incubation period of 96 h and incubation temperature at 30°C, initial pH 6.5 at an inoculum level 20% (v/v) with 48 h old inoculum was found to be optimum for maximum yield.
