Abstract: Situando-se na interseccao entre constitucionalismo e independencias, o artigo tem como objetivo discutir a dinâmica institucional da justica na formacao do Imperio do Brasil como parte de uma compartilhada tradicao juridica em todo o mundo ibero-americano, centrando-se no ciclo de mudancas ocorrido entre meados dos seculos XVIII e XIX. Para tanto, o recorte esta nas garantias de justica que, existentes na cultura do ius commune, seriam centrais aos novos estados independentes na America por meio da estatizacao de elementos que previam o funcionamento de uma antiga chave: a de que a "boa administracao da justica" dependia do "bom juiz", e do seu reto comportamento, e nao das leis e de sua devida aplicacao. A partir da prevalencia de uma justica de juizes, conclui-se que, sem codigos, no sentido moderno, foi impossivel se implantar um regime de justica de leis.

Abstract: O artigo explora os meios pelos quais a historiografia sobre a escravidao brasileira tem lidado com o tema do capitalismo nos ultimos tempos. Se, entre as decadas de 1930 e 1970, o conceito esteve no centro das preocupacoes de historiadores e cientistas sociais, a partir de fins da decada de 1980, ele desapareceu do horizonte analitico das escolas historiograficas que se firmaram no campo. O artigo avalia as perdas produzidas por tal escolha, apontando a necessidade de operarmos com definicoes renovadas de capitalismo historico para avancarmos na compreensao do nosso passado escravista.

Abstract: O estudo da administracao colonial voltou a adquirir importância nos ultimos anos, tendo gerado um proficuo debate historiografico, que tem renovado este campo dos estudos historicos. O conceito de "pacto colonial" vem sendo revisto, enfatizando-se a dinâmica da negociacao entre os colonos e a Coroa portuguesa. O proprio "antigo sistema colonial" vem sendo confrontado com a nocao de um "Antigo Regime nos tropicos", o que levou a que fossem repensados varios aspectos da fase inicial da historia do Brasil. Um dos pontos centrais a ser investigado no artigo refere-se a natureza das relacoes que eram estabelecidas entre as principais autoridades regias da colonia (vice-reis, governadores, provedores e ouvidores) e os poderes locais (câmaras e ordenancas), procurando verificar como se viabilizava a governabilidade da America lusa. Dentro desse vasto espaco geografico, o foco da analise ira recair sobre o processo de integracao na estrutura administrativa colonial dos espacos de fronteira, particularmente o Rio Grande de Sao Pedro e a Colonia do Sacramento.

Abstract: I analyze in this paper the sociogenesis of the black militias into two captaincies of Portuguese America: Pernambuco and Minas Gerais. After proposing comparisons between recruitments of native and blacks soldiers, I highlight the role of slavery and social uprooting of Africans, as well as I try to examine stress fields involving pardos, blacks, colonial and metropolitan authorities culminating with major or minor mishaps, with the institutionalization of black militias. Finally, I note that the captaincies of Minas Gerais and Pernambuco are seen here as specific social configurations and endowed with significant autonomy. At the same time, I see Pernambuco and Minas Gerais as two social configurations interdependent and connected, whose histories and institutions often saw themselves reflected in documents produced by militiamen and bureaucrats linked to their rulings.

It suggests an explanation for cases of voluntary participation in those activities: in them indigenous found space for independent action, they fostered the expansion of social networks and they configured new economic outlook.

Abstract: El articulo pretende abordar, en primer lugar, de manera sucinta las causaseconomico-sociales y culturales que contribuyeron a la emergencia de un grupo estudiantil radical conocido como los “Enfermos”, perteneciente a la Federacion de Estudiantes Universitarios Sinaloenses (FEUS) de la Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa que entre los anos de 1972 a 1974 decidieron confrontar politica y militarmente al Estado mexicano. En segundo termino, analiza las caracteristicas fundamentales del citado agrupamiento, los origenes de los militantes, el contexto historico en el que aparecieron, las formas y estrategias de lucha y un aspecto mas que a nuestro juicio es de suma importancia estudiar: el campo semantico empleado a traves del cual publicitaron su guerra revolucionaria y, sobre todo, la significacion del concepto revolucion, concepto que a lo largo de su existencia guio todas sus estrategias de lucha.AbstractThe article seeks to address first succinctly socio-economic causes and cultural contributed to the emergence of a radical student group known as los “enfermos”, belonging to the Sinaloa Federation of University Students (FEUS) at the University Autonoma de Sinaloa (UAS) that between the years of 1972 to 1974 decided politically and militarily confront the Mexican state. Second, analyses the fundamental characteristics of that grouping, origins of the militants, the historical context in which they appeared, forms and strategies of struggle and an aspect that we believe is very important to study: the employee using the semantic field which advertised its Revolutionary War, above all, the significance of the revolution concept, a concept that throughout its existence guided all control strategies.

O estudo enfatiza as particularidades regionais, mas destaca como a riqueza tornou-se um potente motor para o enobrecimento de plebeus nas sociedades do Antigo Regime setecentistas.

In addition, this article delves into the consequences of the Bourbon and Pombaline reforms in these events.

Abstract: The present document was composed in 1671, in the form of a circular letter, by Father John Philip Bettendorff from Luxembourg, superior of the Maranhao Mission. Written in a context of economic crisis and juridical uncertainty, the letter clarifies two points under-researched by historiography: the difficulties faced by the Amazon Mission after the first expulsion of the Jesuits in 1661, and the divisions within the Society of Jesus as a result of its rapid overseas expansion.

Abstract: Este trabajo pretende hacer un balance historiografico preliminar sobre el estado de los estudios sobre movimientos sociales en El Salvador, de 1811 a 1932. Para seleccionar los casos de estudio se procedio a partir de dos criterios basicos: primero, la importancia que tuvo la movilizacion, tanto en el momento de su acaecimiento como en la historiografia salvadorena; segundo, la cantidad y calidad de los estudios al respecto, considerando tendencias historiograficas, abordajes, fuentes e interpretaciones. Se discuten los factores que a lo largo del tiempo han condicionado las diferentes interpretaciones sobre los mismos hechosAbstractThis article analyzes the historiography about social movements occurred in El Salvador since 1811 to 1932. We choose the study cases on two reasons: the mobilization’s importance at the time and its meaning in the Salvadorian history. Besides we think over the quantity and quality of studies, including tendencies, perspectives, sources and interpretations. We discuss some clues that determinate different interpretations on the same events along the time.

Abstract: The present article analyzes the violence exerted against the childhood in the popular world, considering the social phenomena of the abandonment and the infanticide as keys of the question. Thus, the traditional triad of poverty, illegitimacy and disaffection is confronted respect to a deeper interpretation into the practices of the community, placing violence against children on a learning cultural context, that is, the socialization level of violent responses from the lower class. The sources used correspond to judicial records and written press of the epoch, which was reviewed intensively in order to find, not only the transgression itself, but also the senses and meanings present on it.

Based on the extensive documentation found in the archives of the Division of Censorship and Public Entertainment (DCPD), this paper aims to reconstruct the network of relationships of power, complicity and tensions affecting television production during the Brazilian military regime.

Abstract: El presente articulo pone el foco en el distrito provincial santafesino, en el periodo abierto en el ambito nacional con el triunfo de Hipolito Yrigoyen como presidente y en Santa Fe con la llegada al gobierno del radicalismo disidente, una de las dos facciones en que estaba divido el partido en la provincia. Se trata de explicar el sistema de partidos que se configura en el distrito con el protagonismo de dos radicalismos que capturan el espacio del oficialismo y de la oposicion, a partir del analisis de las coyunturas electorales nacionales y provinciales que tienen lugar entre 1916 y 1920. Se atiende a las normativas que organizan los comicios, y se indaga sobre la compleja relacion entre las organizaciones partidarias de la esfera nacional y provincial del radicalismo.

Abstract: e analiza el clientelismo politico en el caso de los movimientos sociales de lucha por vivienda en la ciudad de San Jose, durante la convulsa decada de 1980. La problematica se aborda desde la complejidad de la relacion clientelar, tomando en cuenta la subjetividad existente en la base del movimiento, la cual practico estrategias de sobrevivencia para la resolucion de problemas –principalmente de vivienda y servicios basicos–, una de cuyas manifestaciones fue acudir al clientelismo. Por lo tanto, se enfoca la relacion clientelar desde una perspectiva que intenta complementar versiones que solo han percibido tal fenomeno como simple manipulacion vertical. Abstract This article examines political clientelism in grass-roots social housing movements in San Jose during the turbulent decade of 1980. The authors analyze the complexity of the patron-client relationship, taking into account the subjectivity of the individuals involved, who adopted clientelism as a survival strategy to secure housing and basic services. Clientage is, therefore, addressed from a perspective that attempts to supplement approaches that view the phenomenon solely as a vertical power relationship.

Abstract: This article intends to show obscure actors, named Christians Indians, who, in the traditional historiography, were submerged in the narratives. Likewise, this one intends to dive in the everyday life of the old Grao-Para State, during the Seventeenth and Eighteenth centuries, principally through the rhetorics of the Jesuits and to find some victims of that forgetfulness in microcosm of those everyday life actions.

Abstract: A enfatica reafirmacao da inabalavel fe dos jesuitas no cumprimento de sua missao e padrao narrativo recorrente nas cartas ânuas que tinham, dentre seus objetivos, o enaltecimento da propria Companhia de Jesus e de sua obra evangelizadora. O destaque dado as atuacoes exemplares de alguns missionarios "como as que encontramos descritas nos necrologios inseridos nas ânuas e nas biografias produzidas em tempos variados" parece apontar para a reiteracao da conduta virtuosa definida por Inacio de Loyola, tanto para os membros da ordem dos jesuitas quanto para aqueles que buscavam a garantia da salvacao da alma. Nosso proposito neste artigo e o de analisar os relatos produzidos sobre "atos heroicos de virtude" de missionarios, presentes tanto nas narrativas epistolares quanto em suas biografias, destacando a funcao pedagogica desempenhada pela consagracao postuma para a Companhia de Jesus.
