Abstract: This study investigates predictors of anxiety, depression, and job satisfaction in teachers in northern Ontario. Using data from self-report questionnaires, factor analysis and multiple linear regression were performed to determine which sources of stress predict stress-related symptoms among teachers and to explore job satisfaction as predicted by: stress, depression, anxiety, years of teaching experience, gender, grade level assignment and position (part-time vs. full-time). The results indicate that workload and student behaviour were significant predictors of depression in teachers in the study. Workload, student behaviour, and employment conditions were significant predictors of anxiety. In addition, stress and depression had a significant and negative impact on job satisfaction. Years of teaching experience was a significant and positive predictor of job satisfaction. Anxiety, gender, grade level, and position were not statistically significant predictors of teacher job satisfaction. Therefore, efforts made to improve workload, student behavior, and employment conditions may lead to reduced stress among teachers and thus lower levels of depression and anxiety. These results may provide guidance for teachers and administrators, as well as inform teacher retention efforts and attempts to improve teacher job satisfaction.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors argue that work readiness is an important selection criterion, and should be examined systematically in the graduate assessment process, as a construct in itself, and propose a specific measure of work readiness that will allow more effective decision practices and potentially predict long term job capacity and performance.
Abstract: Graduate recruitment and selection differs from other contexts in that graduate applicants generally lack job-related experience. Recent research has highlighted that employers are placing increasing value on graduates being work ready. Work readiness is believed to be indicative of graduate potential in terms of long term job performance and career advancement. A review of the literature has found that current graduate recruitment and selection practices lack the rigour and construct validity to effectively assess work readiness. In addition, the variety of interchangeable terms and definitions articulated by employers and academics on what constitutes work readiness suggests the need to further refine this construct. This paper argues that work readiness is an important selection criterion, and should be examined systematically in the graduate assessment process, as a construct in itself. The ineffectiveness of current assessment methods in being able to measure work readiness supports the need to develop a specific measure of work readiness that will allow more effective decision practices and potentially predict long term job capacity and performance.

TL;DR: Work-integrated learning includes a range of learning tasks that either resemble those expected of working graduates in their early careers, or are proximal to the workplaces or spaces, physical or digital, where professional work occurs as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: Employability features more prominently on the agenda of higher education institutions when the economy falters or changes: the majority of students, and their families, expect a degree to deliver a career pathway as well as an education. This paper explores some of the trends and predictions in the rapidly changing world of work and proposes a re-worked definition of employability (based on Yorke’s widely-accepted definition from 2006): that employability means that students and graduates can discern, acquire, adapt and continually enhance the skills, understandings and personal attributes that make them more likely to find and create meaningful paid and unpaid work that benefits themselves, the workforce, the community and the economy. Likewise, work-integrated learning requires sharper definition than an ‘umbrella term’. This paper proposes that work-integrated learning includes a range of learning tasks that either resemble those expected of working graduates in their early careers, or are proximal to the workplaces or spaces, physical or digital, where professional work occurs. Determining the appropriate spread of tasks across a degree is best done by mapping assessments, ensuring there are more high level tasks in the latter years so that students are prompted to focus on the skills, understandings and personal attributes that make them more likely to find and create meaningful paid and unpaid work that benefits themselves, the workforce, the community and the economy.

TL;DR: In this article, kertas kerja ini membincangkan penggunaan perisian Matlab Simulink dalam memodel penukar Buck.
