TL;DR: In this article, a simple analytical solution for the chloride diffusivity of cement paste was presented, combining the percolation theory with the general effective medium approximation, and the analytical solution was verified with two independent sets of experimental data.
Abstract: A simple analytical solution for the chloride diffusivity of cement paste was presented.Cement paste was considered as a two-phase composite material,composed of the solid phase and pores.By combining the percolation theory with the general effective-medium approximation,the analytical solution for the chloride diffusivity of cement paste was derived.The validity of the proposed analytical solution was verified with two independent of sets of experimental data. Finally,the effects of the water/cement ratio and the degree of hydration on the chloride diffusivity of cement paste were evaluated in a quantitative manner. It was found that the chloride diffusivity of cement paste decreases with the increase of the degree of hydration,but increases with the increase of the water/cement ratio.

Abstract: Calcium-silicate-hydrates(C—S—H) are one of the main hydration products and are of great importance to the properties of concrete.C—S—H with initial C/S ratios of 1.0,1.3,1.5 and 1.7 were synthesized by the solution reaction of calcium nitrate(Ca(NO3)2·4H2O),Sodium nitrate(Na2SiO3·9H2O) and deionized water at the temperature of 60 ℃.Morphology of synthesized C—S—H samples were investigated by SEM technique.Results indicate that morphology of C—S—H samples varied from flake-like shapes to honey-combed shapes as C/S ratio increased.

Abstract: Investigation and analysis about key technology of de-icing and anti-icing were conducted.Deicers are the current main solution,tending to environment-friendly development.Being the current main solution,there is need for deicers to reduce costs,increase efficiency and recycle.Though ice-melting with heat cable enjoyed high efficiency,it could be suitable only for some key projects due to great costs.Low-freezing pavement as well as rubber flexible pavement needed to address the durability and increase efficiency.The automatic anti-icing pavement led the development tendency.They were not only environment-friendly but also long-term efficient.Three promising technologies were introduced here. Learned from the ultra-thin non-slip coating technology,low-freezing pavement and rubber flexible pavement could be integrated into one new technology called low-freezing flexible pavement.Through reducing the bond strength between ice and pavement surface,anti-adhesion coating could improve the efficiency of breaking ice by vehicle loads.Through obstructing the heat conduction between the surface and the bridge deck,insulated layer could depress ice development so that continuous slippery surface couldn't be resulted in.
