Abstract: The differences in performance between the coral reef sand,mechanism sand and natural sand were studied,and microscopic test methods were used to investigate the chemical composition and microstructure of different sands.The results showed that,the fineness module of the coral reef sand was small,and it was light and porous.The water absorption was high.The main lithofacies of the coral reef sand was calcite carbonatite,and the main composition was calcium carbonate.The surface of the coral reef sand was rough and existed a lot of pores.The water consumption and the dosage of additive of the coral reef sand concrete were higher,and density was lower than that of natural sand.

Abstract: A method of preparation of porous borosilicate glass microspheres is expounded in this paper.First,make borosilicate glass beads by glass powder method,and then produce porous glass microspheres through the thermal phase seperation method.According to the optimal solution,the porous glass beads maximum specific surface area can reach 68.18m2/g.Meanwhile,the influence of heat treatment process as well as the acid leaching process on the the porous beads' specific surface area is studied.
