TL;DR: The post colonial law has provided a dignified status to tribals but it will not be able to resolve tribal people's human rights and livelihood issues without similar or greater advancement in law and administration in other areas such as land acquisition, development induced displacement and political autonomy as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: India is land of nearly 10.4 million tribes which constitutes 8.6% of its total population and spread over 15% of its geographical area. Tribe has very close relation with the forest and their life and sustenance is harmonized with available forest resources. The ongoing pursuit for economic development and market pressure on government have forced policy-makers to convert forest land into large corporations which again push away the indigenous people from their soils. Since the colonial period the forest policies jeopardized the tribal’s rights over the forest and ignored their voices during framing the laws. In the colonial period the legal and policy instruments transferred the right over forests from communities’ hand to government’s hand. The post colonial law has provided a dignified status to tribals but it will not be able to resolve tribal people’s human rights and livelihood issues without similar or greater advancement in law and administration in other areas such as land acquisition, development – induced displacement and political autonomy. Government and our policy makers should not ignore the importance of tribals and rights should be given to the latter by proper implementation of the law.

Abstract: Academic administration in secondary teacher education institutes seems to be most important factor for smooth running of these institutions, required to produce high quality teachers. At the top of academic administration in these institutions, there comes the managing trustee who controls the governance. Therefore, in this work, we tried to evaluate the academic administration of managing trustees of secondary teacher education institutes in Gujarat and discussed in detail. It is natural to assume that academic administration in these institutions can be affected by various direct or indirect factors. Therefore, for this study, different variable such as gender (male/female), and nature (reserve/unreserved) of managing trustees as well as location (rural/urban) and type of the institute (aided/non-aided) have been considered. A quantitative approach employing null hypothesis has been employed, where a questionnaire was constructed and validated before its application. The present findings are expected to shed light on the various factors affecting the academic administration by managing trustees and would help in achieving better academic administration.

TL;DR: In this article, a qualitative assessment was made through in-depth interviews with 10 women seafarers to identify the challenges they face in the male dominated world of seafaring, their opinions on seafaring careers and the reasons why they have chosen a seafaring career.
Abstract: History and literature regarding women seafarers suggests that women represent about 2% of the world’s maritime workforce, with an insignificant number coming from West Africa which is the focus of this research. As a result, the main aim of this research is to identify women seafarers’ challenges with respect to employment on-board ships and how to provide sufficient solutions to empower more women in West Africa to go to sea. A qualitative assessment was made through in-depth interviews with 10 women seafarers. Women seafarers were interviewed to identify the challenges they face in the male dominated world of seafaring, their opinions on seafaring careers and the reasons why they have chosen a seafaring career. The results were collated and analysed qualitatively. The findings revealed that the most significant challenge faced by West African women seafarers is the problem of recruitment and retention on-board ships due to the lack of national shipping companies and national gender equality legislations. In addition, there are no effective initiatives or measures to empower women to go to sea in West Africa despite the fact that it is being practiced in other African regions such as South Africa. The concluding section makes some suggestions as to how more women from West Africa can be empowered to choose seafaring careers as well as a suggestion for further research. TL;DR: The LMX theory as mentioned in this paper is one such leader relationship theory, and it is not very clear as to where it fits in the overall context of different leadership approaches, but it has been shown to be useful for leadership development in organizations.
Abstract: Despite several studies on leadership, there still is no clear understanding of what leadership is and how it can be achieved. Traditional classification of leadership theories has been either on the basis of traits, behaviour or situation. The focus of these approaches has been primarily on the characteristics of the manager or the supervisor that make him or her effective in leadership situations. This typology of leadership does not specifically explain the influence of the follower characteristics or the leader relationship with the subordinate. LMX is one such leader relationship theory. It is not very clear as to where the LMX theory fits in the overall context of different leadership approaches. This paper discusses the LMX Theory in the context of the vast literature on Leadership, its evolution and practical utility for leadership development in organizations.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on the departure from targets as drift and opines that the agricultural sector has been continually drifting from the mission that would see it become modern, with more value added outputs and one that would offer support to other sectors of the economy.
Abstract: Nigeria’s economy has been marked by many prominent and potential drivers, but the agricultural industry remains outstanding as a major industry with immense potential yet to translate into results. The country is in the middle of implementing Vision 2020 which has huge demands on the sector. The vision requires the sector to grow at a sustainable rate that will ensure continued profitability. However, the management of the industry over the past regimes has continually departed from the set goals due to a number of reasons and forces. This paper focuses on the departure from targets as drift and opines that the agricultural sector has been continually drifting from the mission that would see it become modern, with more value added outputs and one that would offer support to other sectors of the economy. It develops the Macroeconomic model on an input-output framework combining the agricultural sector historical and polemical analysis promoting the labour market and product market interactions in a considerable and empirical manner. Moreover, the model’s illustration entails linking with agricultural simulation model which facilitates the evaluation of alternative policies in Nigeria’s agricultural sector presenting an agricultural policy picture from 1970 to 2014. In addition, the model can potentially be used with various informal and formal analysis techniques to better establish the drift in Nigeria’s Vision 2020 with regard to the agricultural policy makers and implementers.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the contents of three of Nigeria's leading independent publications three months prior to the military coups that took place in 1983, assuming that the role of the mass media in the socio-political scenario within which military intervention took place could be gleaned from the perspective of analyzing how issues relating to governments were presented in the media before the intervention that forced them out of office.
Abstract: Several studies on the coverage of crisis blame the mass media for creating conducive atmospheres under which social and political destabilization thrive. Grounded in what some researchers conceptualized as the ‘mediatization’ or ‘commodification’ of crisis, the charge holds that the coverage of social disruptions, political tussles and strife is framed in a manner that stimulates radical actions or reactions, which often escalate into crisis. Against the background of Nigeria’s past history of recurring military coups, ethnic clashes and inter-religious violence, there is a widespread contention that the Nigerian mass media had in most cases fanned the embers of ethnic rivalry by framing issues in ways that ignited undue ethnic loyalties. Some observers even pointedly accused the print media of leading the clarion call for military intervention in politics by portraying government in a manner that made it justifiable for military juntas to hijack power. Assuming that the role of the mass media in the socio-political scenario within which military intervention took place could be gleaned from the perspective of analyzing how issues relating to governments were presented in the media prior to the intervention that forced them out of office, this paper studies the contents of three of Nigeria's leading independent publications three months prior to the military coups that took place in 1983. The researcher of this paper is focuses on the importance of dairy supply chain management and to illustrate the current practices of diary supply chain in India. Traditionally in India the consumption of milk and its related products is being sold by unorganized people or sector. But with the advent of mechanized dairy industry in India the shift towards organized milk industry is evident in today's globalized economic scenario. To gain profitability wouldn't be an easy task in this industry unless we manage the supply through efficient supply chain practices so as to enable the suppliers to supply the milk and allied products to the customer on time as these products are highly perishable. The researcher has made an earnest attempt to study the critical issues in supply chain management and to offer plausible solutions to the management of the firm understudy on how to gain profitability by cutting the cost through efficient supply chain management practices.

Abstract: The present paper intends to highlight the utility of the technique of the management dashboard for the accumulation of the human capital in the Moroccan university organization. To succeed to this end, we pursue an exploratory reasoning and a qualitative approach having a non- experimental nature. The human being - the armature of the human capital - constitutes the most eminent component in the activity of that public structure. Thus to pilot the university performance towards the right direction, the recognition and the development of the human capital is imperative. Over time, the dynamics of the meaning of "performance" word was in favor of human capital. The latter has become inseparable from any assessment of the performance. For these reasons, we consider in this paper that the management dashboard is an instrument of regulation of behavior, of empowerment and of strengthening of the confidence of the human resources towards this organization. Therefore, these inputs can contribute to the progression of human capital, so the performance of the organization can record an unprecedented improvement. Keywords: Management dashboard, human capital, university, confidence, performance.
