TL;DR: A review of literature in the field of consumer shopping behavior and the role of women in shopping is presented in this paper, where the authors identify the different streams of thought that could help the future researchers and guide them.
Abstract: Any person, who buys a product/service, may not be necessarily user or consumer. The subject of shopper behaviour has focused on individuals and the factors that impact their decisions to spend their resources on consumption-related items. The concepts and theories of shopper behaviour have drawn upon diverse disciplines as psychology, sociology, social psychology, cultural anthropology, and economics. Consumers who enjoy shopping are mostly female and are considered to be a noteworthy force in the retail market. Women think differently from men because there are biological, neurological, and behavioural variations between the brains of men and women. These differences in turn make an impact on their shopping behaviour. While men will load themselves with sufficient information of a product or service through internet, advertising, reviews; women would try to get benefit from others’ experience by asking people around them. This article presents a review of literature, in the field of consumer shopping behaviour and the role of women in shopping. The main purpose of this article is to identify the different streams of thought that could help the future researchers and guide them. The researcher has gone through materials that had been investigated on consumer shopping behaviour and the role of women in shopping. The study of consumer behaviour is rapidly evolving as researchers recognize and implement new techniques and trans-disciplinary perspectives to understand the nature of purchase and consumption behaviour. This in-depth outlook attempts to study consumer shopping behaviour in the illumination of rapidly developing lifestyles, standards, priorities, and communal contexts. TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the relationship between consumer ethnocentrism and local-foreign brand preference in China, and the moderators of this relationship, i.e., conspicuous consumption and cosmopolitism.
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to contribute to research related to consumer culture theory by investigating the relationship between consumer ethnocentrism and local-foreign brand preference in China, and the moderators of this relationship, i.e., conspicuous consumption and cosmopolitism. The research instrument was a questionnaire and data was collected online from 215 respondents. Descriptive analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and moderator effect analysis were used to test the research hypothesis. The research supports the hypotheses that consumer ethnocentrism has a positive impact on local and global (L&G) and local and domestic (L&D) brand preference, while having no significant influence on foreign and global (F&G) brand preference and continues show that cosmopolitanism has no significant influence on the positive relationship between consumer ethnocentrism and L&G brand preference. It also supports the hypothesis that the positive effects of consumer ethnocentrism on L&D brand preference is less pronounced when conspicuous consumption is high than when it is low. In addition, it affirms the hypothesis that conspicuous consumption has no significant influence on the positive relationship between consumer ethnocentrism and L&G brand preference. However, regarding the relationship between consumer ethnocentrism and cosmopolitanism, the research does not support the hypothesis that the positive effects of consumer ethnocentrism on local and domestic (L&D) brand preference are less pronounced when Cosmopolitanism is high than when it is low. The marketing implications derived from the research results hopes to provide useful information to marketers.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a service quality perception study undertaken hospitals in Trichy, Dindigul and Madurai Cities, where the authors examined the important criteria for measuring service quality in the health care industry.
Abstract: In today’s highly competitive situation, hospitals are increasingly realizing the need to focus on service quality as a measure to improve their competitive position.Service quality has increasingly been the subject of research in recent years. Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Berry presented and tested a generic model SERVQUAL to measure the perceived quality of a service. James Carman adapted and applied this instrument for use in the hospital industry. In this research paper, the researcher presents a service quality perception study undertaken hospitals in Trichy, Dindigul and Madurai Cities. The purpose of the study is to examine the important criteria for measuring service quality in the health care industry in Trichy, Dindigul and Madurai Cities. The relationship between customer satisfaction and serqual measures are investigated for this purpose. In our study customer satisfaction measured by three criteria by asking customers; their future purchase intention, how they evaluate overall service quality and how they see overall quality of the hospital. Service quality was measured by the difference between perceived service and expected service and rated on a seven point Likert scale. SERQUAL measures consist of 6 criteria; tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, courtesy, and empathy. The techniques of factor analysis and the logistic regression models are used to investigate the relationships. Like the linear regression analysis, most of the usual statistical methods assume that the residuals, or errors, must follow a normal distribution. If they are not the methods should not be used. Logistic regression is a variation of ordinary regression which is used when the dependent variable is a categorical variable. The results of our analysis confirm that while tangibility, reliability, courtesy and empathy are significant for customer satisfaction, responsiveness and assurance are not.

Abstract: Charles H. Dow (1896) has devised the theory of Industrial Average’s (later known as Dow Theory), to understand the implications of speculative stock market prices. In this paper, earlier evidence has been reviewed to understand how the theory is implied to forecast stock market changes and its effectiveness in determining stock market trends, specifically long–term trends. The study focuses on the estimation of moving averages of stock prices and how the stock market reacts on the dissemination of information. Empirical investigation has been made on NSE’s Nifty 50 Index, to understand and predict the implication of the Dow Theory in Indian Stock market. Monthly, weekly, daily and yearly data is compared to estimate the trend in the respective index and summarized the changes in the whole index with the trading effects and the trend line it follows. The investigation shows strong symmetry with earlier evidences, however, there exists asymmetrical relationship among the ways to predict future market trend. Abstract: The study examines the grocery shopping behavior of people living in and around Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru. A pre-designed questionnaire was used to collect the primary data (experiences) from the respondents. Data was collected from 246 people residing in and around these three cities. The collected data was analyzed with the help of statistical tools such as averages, percentages, factor analysis, Student’s t-test, structural equation model and correlation. The objectives of this study were to know the extent to which • older and younger respondents differ in their grocery shopping behavior • employed and unemployed respondents differ in their grocery shopping behavior • grocery shoppers are satisfied with their grocery shopping experience. The study revealed that most grocery shoppers do grocery shopping once a week and the majority of the surveyed shoppers disclosed that they spend an hour grocery shopping during each visit. Although the respondents show some differences in their grocery shopping behavior depending on their age and employment status, there appear to be a number of similarities in their grocery shopping behavior: the shoppers look at the store circular either before or at the store and select brands based on newspaper flyers received by them; they like to buy branded items because of previous usage and the trust that they have on these brands; they are keen to buy fresh and new stocks of items and choose to shop at a particular grocery outlet where they get all their requirements.
