TL;DR: This paper examined the Priestly and Deuteronomic Sources' influence on the book of Ezekiel and found that the prophet's writing is not merely a product of their influence or tradition. But rather, it is truly the Redactor he most resembles.
Abstract: The article examines the Priestly and Deuteronomic Sources' influence on the book of Ezekiel. Analysis of Priestly and Deuteronomic terms and expressions common to Ezekiel indicates that the prophet's writing is not merely a product of their influence or tradition. Ezekiel appropriates this terminology byt situates it in new contexts creating a unique synthesis of P's and D's differing interpretations of Israelite history. The composition and compilation of Ezekiel took place in the same period as the compilation and redaction of the sources that comprise the Torah. The synthesis achived by the Redactor of the Torah lay to rest the exclusivity apparent whan these sources are read separately. Ezekiel, in essence, achived a similar synthesis. The priests in Exile, with their Temple destroyed and ideology discredited, acepted what were rival streams of thought in pre-exilic Israel. While Ezekiel's affinity to P is usually highlighted, it is truly the Redactor he most resembles.

TL;DR: In this article, certain divergences entre la Septante and le texte massoretique in matiere de chronologie are discussed. But the authors focus on the divergence between the two texts.

TL;DR: In this article, a purely internal solution to overcome the partly contradictory chronology of the divided kingdom is sought -the biblical chronology as a system, accepting that co-regencies were used in Israel and Judah and that given years should be treated as whole years.
Abstract: After a discussion of the different assumptions which have earlier been used by scholars to overcome the partly contradictory chronology of the divided kingdom, a purely internal solution is sought - the biblical chronology as a system. Accepting that co-regencies were used in Israel and Judah and that given years should be treated as whole years, a mathematical solution was found which completely agrees with all chronological date in the Reg and Chr. The same solution has earlier been found by Stenring in a more ratiocinative way. This solution is compared with dates from external sources. After introducing two generally accepted corrections to the reigns of Pekah and Manasseh, the mathematical solution agrees remarkably well with external history. The results are found as a separate solution for the period in question. But at the same time they fit in exactly with a comprehensive chronological system from the creation onwards, also proposed by Stenring.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the question of the social location (official and popular) of Old Testament proverbs, with particular attention to F.W. Golka's use of African proverbial material in his cross-cultural approach to the question.
Abstract: The article discusses the question of the social location (official and popular) of Old Testament proverbs, with particular attention to F.W. Golka's use of African proverbial material in his cross-cultural approach to the question. Using proverbs on the poor as a test case, it is argued that Golka goes in the right direction, but that he neglects the theological aspect of African proverbs. The existence of theological proverbs on the poor in traditional Africa is therefore argued to be a caution not to be too hasty to reject the possibility of a popular social location even of the theological proverbs in the Old Testament.

TL;DR: In this paper, it has been assumed that the episode was at first inserted elsewhere, immediately following the cycle of Samson traditions, and later it was missed at its original place in 32 : 31.
Abstract: On the basis of textual criticism scholars have argued that maybe Jdc 3 : 31 was not the original position of the notice about Judge Shamgar. It has been assumed that the episode was at first inserted elsewhere, immediately following the cycle of Samson traditions. However, the fact that in some ancient authorities Shamgar appears not only in Jdc 3 : 31, but also in Jdc 16 : 31 can be explained in another way more sufficiently : during the process of translation the note was moved from 3 : 31 to 16 : 31 for editorial reasons. Later it was missed at its original place in 32 : 31. A new translation form the Hebrew ws made to fill the gap. In this way the peculiar versions of the Book of Judges in which the notice about Shamgar is mentioned twice came into existence.

TL;DR: In this paper, a close reading of the first chapter of Genesis brings to light two terminological patterns seemingly based on the deliberate distribution of the two roots good and make in the text.
Abstract: Close reading of the extant text brings to light two terminological patterns seemingly based on the deliberate distribution of the two roots good and make. In two significant statement, God saw all that he had made, and it was very good (1 : 31) and it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him (2 : 18), the two terms good and make occur the seventh and twelfth time in Genesis respectively. Because of the double overlapping of the two terms we might presume that the Endgestalt of the first chapters of Genesis - whatever their oral and/or written pre-history may have been - has been carefully composed by its ancient author.

TL;DR: The authors investigates the intellectual history of the argument for the antiquity of Ex 34 : 11-26 and investigates how and why the idea originally developed that the unit represents an ancient, independent, pre-Deuteronomic legal source.
Abstract: This article investigates the intellectual history of the argument for the antiquity of Ex 34 : 11-26. In the contemporary debate about pentateuchal theory, a question that remains insufficiently addressed is how and why the idea originally developed that the unit represents an ancient, independent, pre-Deuteronomic legal source. Wellhausen credited the idea to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Zwo bisher unerorterte biblische Fragen... (1773). Like Goethe, Wellhausen regarded the unit as a ritual Decalogue, in contrast to the ethical Decalogue of Exodus 20. The distinction helped Wellhausen consolidate the classical model of the documentary hypothesis : he attributed the cultic Decalogue to the Yahwist and the ethical to the Elohist. Despite the importance of Goethe's essay to the history of pentateuchal criticism, it is not clear that its arguments have previously been investigated.
