Research of Lentinan's Ettect on Blood Lipid and Its Mechanisms

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effect of lentinan (LNT) on reducing blood lipid of hyperlipidemia rats and its mechanisms according to the traditional Chinese medicine principle called“the same source of medicine and food”. Methods: Male SD strains rats were divided into low dose group, high dose group, hyperlipidemia contrast group, masculine contrast group and normal contrast group respectively. The normal contrast group was fed with normal diet and other 4 group with high-lipid diet. The low dose group and high dose group were fed with lentinan at the dosages of 100mg/kg and 200mg/kg respectively, the masculine group with lovastatin at the dosages of 10mg/kg,and the hyperlipidemia contrast group and normal contrast group were fed with the same volume of NS.The experiment lasted 60 days. The fast blood cholesterol (TC), low-density cholesterol (LDL-C),high-density cholesterol (HDL-C) as well as HDL3-C, HDL2-C and activities of LCAT, LPL and HL were tested. Results: The TC level of low dose group and high dose group were obviously reduced( P 0.05), the level of HDL-C, HDL2-C as well as two ratios of HDL-C/TC and HDL-C/LDL/C improved ( P 0.05), while level of LDL-C had no significantly change ( P 0.05). The activities of LCATadd LPL in hyperlipidemia rats were lower than those in normal rats ( P 0.05). After using lentinan, theactivities of LCAT add LPL in Hyperlipidemia rats were much improved ( P 0.05). Conclusion:Lentinan can significantly reduce the blood total cholesterol levels in hyperlipidemia rats. The functionmay be related to improve the activities of LCAT and LPL and increase the level of HDL-C.

Curative Effect Observation on Traditional Chinese Medicine Warmed Kidney and Benefited Spleen Combined with Massage Method in Treating Old Osteoporosis

Abstract: objective: To explore the curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine warmed kidney andbenefited spleen combined with massage method in treating old osteoporosis. Methods: 150 cases of old osteoporosis were randomly divided into treatment group (90 cases) and contrast group (60 cases).treatment group were treated by warmed kidney and benefited spleen decoction and massage method,contrast group by Caltrate and VitAD, both for 6 months. Variety of calcaneus BMD, level of chronic back pain, the improvement rate in chronic back pain before and after treatment were observed and recorded. Results: The calcaneus BMD in treatment group were increased averagely by 3.33%. There was difference before and after treatment in treatment group while no difference in contrast group. The improvement rates of calcaneus BMD in treatment group and contrast group were 87.77% and 42.67% respectively. The difference had significant meaning. (P0.01). The improvement rates of chronic back pain in treatment group and contrast group were 83.33% and 45.00% respectively. The difference had significant meaning (P0.01). During the treatment period the improvement fraction in contrast group was decreasing and that in treatment group increasing. Conclusion: The syndrome of old osteoporosis is Yin-deficiency and Yang-deficiency with Yang-deficiency mainly. The traditional Chinese medicine warmed kidney and benefited spleen combined with massage method can effectively relieve the clinical symptom of old osteoporosis and improve BMD, and its is more effective than western medicine.

Clinical Observation of Kushenin Capsule with Bicyclol Tablet on Treating Chronic Hepatitis B

Abstract: Objective: To explore the curative effects of kushenin capsule combining with bicyclol tableton treating chronic hepatitis B Methods: 150 cases of chronic hepatitis B were randomly divided by treatment group (80 cases, treated by kushenin capsule combining with bicyclol tablet) and contrast group(70 cases, treated by bicyclol tablet solely) Liver function in dexes (ALT,AST and GGT), virus replication indexes (HbeAg to HbeAb, HBV-DNA to negative), and hepatic fibrosis indexes (HA,LN, IV-C, PⅢP) were observed The therapy period was six months One month after treatment the above indexes werechecked and compared again Results: No significant difference was observed in liver function improvement between two groups (P005) The treatment group achieved better results than contrast group in HBeAg serum conversion, HBV-DNA to negative and hepatic fibrosis indices (P005) Conclusion: The combination of kushenin capsule with bicyclol tablet has synergetic function in treating chronic hepatitis B and thus has better curative effects than sole bicyclol tablet

Protection Effects of Buyang Huanwu Decoction on Cerebral Ischemia and Reperfusion Injures

Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Buyang Huanwu Decoction on cerebral ischemia and reperfusion injuries in rats. Methods: 56 normal male SD rats were distributed randomly to 4 groups: ①sham-operation (P,n=14) ②control (C,n=14) ③Buyang Huanwu Decoction 1(B_1,n=14) ④Buyang Huanwu Decoction (B_2,n=14). Cerebral ischemia and reperfusion rat models were made using the method of thread inserting right middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). The change of neurologic deficits, infarct volume and brain water content were measured 48 hours after reperfusion. At the same time, pathological change was observed. Results: Buyang Huanwu Decoction 1 and 2 groups can decrease the neurologyic deficits (P0.05), relieve cerebral infarction volume (P0.05), (subtract brainedema P0.05), ameliorate the pathology. Constrasted Buyang Huanwu Decoction 1 with Buyang Huanwu Decoction 2, the effect of Buyang Huanwu Decoction 2 is better than Buyang Huanwu Decoction 1. But there is no statistic significance. Conclusion: All the results display the protective effects of Buyang Huanwu Decoction on cerebral ischemia and reperfusion injuries in rats.

Clinical Research of Fufangbiejiaruangan Tablet Combined with γ-Interferon on Treating Hepatic Fibrosis

Abstract: Objective: To explore the curative effect of Fufangbiejiaruangan tablets combined with γ-interferon on treating hepatic fibrosis Methods:49 cases with chronic hepatitis B were divided randomly into treatment group (28 cases) and contrast group (21 cases) The treatment group was treated by γ-interferon with 1000000 U every day in first two months, then with 1000000 U every other day,combined with 12 Fufangbiejiaruangan tablets orally every day The contrast group was treated by the same dose of γ-interferon only After 6 months of therapy, indices including liver histology, liver function, liver fibrosis and B ultrasonic were tested and compared Results: Indices of both groups after treatment were improved obviously compared with those before treatment The clinical effect of treatment group was significantly better than that of contrast group Conclusion: The clinical effect of Fufangbiejiaruangan tablets combined with γ-interferon on treating hepatic fibrosis is better than that of γ-interferon only
