Abstract: This paper presents the design and economic analysis of a photovoltaic (PV) system for a campus sports complex located at the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Oman. The designed PV system shows the ability to serve the total energy required by the various playgrounds in the sports complex and to sell excess power to the grid. Oman is one of the gulf countries that has the highest average solar irradiation. Besides, the temperature in Oman varies in a broad spectrum daily and seasonally. This variation in temperature, especially in a hot climate like in Oman, has a significant impact on the PV output. This paper addresses such a change of temperature in designing the PV system for the sports complex. This paper also presents the mathematical model utilized in designing the PV system and its design process in detail. The outcome of the design shows that the PV based renewable system can meet the energy requirement (78.568 MWh/year) by the load in a year. Moreover, the design system can sell energy (56.065 MWh/year) back to the grid that produces extra revenue for the system owner. The economic performance parameters such as payback period, net present value, internal rate of return, and profitability index are utilized to evaluate the financial viability of the solar PV system for the SQU sports complex.

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of a 2040 kWp grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system based on polycrystalline silicon technology (pc-Si) and installed on the flat roof of the Physics department building of the Faculty of Sciences El Jadida (Latitude 3322°N, Longitude 848°W, Altitude 24 m, and 21 km away from the Atlantic Ocean) in Morocco has been analyzed during three years (January 2015-December 2017).
Abstract: Renewable energy sources (RES) have been extensively deployed as green energy producers for reducing power consumption while diminishing greenhouse emissions Nowadays, Morocco focuses on RES, especially solar energy due to its abundance, in order to reduce its dependence on fossil products (eg, coal, oil, gas) The aim of the work presented in this article is the modeling, the simulation, the experimentation and the assessment of the performance of a 2040 kWp grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system It is based on polycrystalline silicon technology (pc-Si) and installed on the flat roof of the Physics department building of the Faculty of Sciences El Jadida (Latitude 3322°N, Longitude 848°W, Altitude 24 m, and 21 km away from the Atlantic Ocean) in Morocco Thus, the daily and monthly characteristics of the PV system (eg, power, voltage, current) have been measured, monitored, and analyzed during three years (January 2015-December 2017) Besides, several simulations and experiments have been carried out and the results have been reported and showed that the simulation gives a good approximation of the real-world scenarios Therefore, the monthly average of the produced energy, the efficiency, the final and the reference yields ( Y F and Y R ), the performance ratio ( PR ), and the annual capacity factor ( CF ) of the PV system have been computed, presented and evaluated in order to assess its performance For our pc-Si PV system, the average annual values of the produced energy, the PR and the CF are 1830 kWh/kWp, 79% and 021 respectively

TL;DR: In this article, performance comparison of two different SPV plants located at Fatehgarh and Bap (Rajasthan) respectively is presented, one is equipped with 4968 number of polycrystalline modules each 240W p and the other one equipped with 6012 number of thin film modules each 140W p.
Abstract: Indian government has ambitious plan for solar power generation. The total installed grid connected solar power capacity till 31st March 2016 is 6762.85MW. Indian government has revised its photovoltaic electricity generation targets from 20000MW to 100000MW by 2022 (SESI); it will be a milestone for India's solar photovoltaic industry. Great efforts will be required to achieve these targets apart -from installation performance is very important. Performance ratio is the parameter which tells us the quality of installation and other factor, so it is very important to evaluate the performance of photovoltaic system in regular interval and comparison with other plants. Here we are presenting performance comparison of two different plant located at Fatehgarh and Bap (Rajasthan) respectively. SPV plant situated in Bap (Rajasthan), it is equipped with 4968 number of polycrystalline modules each 240W p and Fatehgarh equipped with 6012 number of thin film modules each 140W p .

TL;DR: In this article, a solar photovoltaic panel using five parameter model of cell considering top Indian manufactured solar panels and estimating output DC power by using location Radiation, temperature and wind as input.
Abstract: Fossil fuels like coal, gas, diesel etc., used for generate electrical energy are in exhaust stage and causes pollution. This necessitates alternative sources of fuels which are renewable and non-pollutant like wind, solar, tidal to generate electrical energy. These renewable fuels cannot be supplied to generate power as required like conventional fuels, as they are naturally available and depends on environmental conditions. Hence they have to be efficiently utilized when they are available. Solar energy is the electromagnetic waves in the form of light which contains packets of energy known as photons. These photons produce electrical energy by the process known photovoltaic effect. In this paper studies are made to utilization of solar energy to produce electrical energy, for this sun-earth angular relation was found using declination angle of earth based on day number, azimuth angle, altitude angle, angle of incidence for particular location i.e., Andhra university, Visakhapatnam with latitude 17.680° N and longitude 83.320° E.
