TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the manganese-oxygen-potassium system for K/Mn ratios ≤ 1, and showed that the decomposition of the system leads to new phases having vacancy layer structures with oxygen packing AABBCC and AABB.
Abstract: Resume. The KxMnO2 Phases (x ≤ 1) The investigation of the manganese-oxygen-potassium system for K/Mn ratios ≤1 leads to new phases having vacancy layer structures with oxygen packing AABBCC and AABB; The distorsions vary with the content of manganese(III). The larger size of potassium atoms allows only the formation of a hollandite type tunnel phase.

TL;DR: In this paper, a phase transition from the tetragonal rutile-type phase to an orthorhombic phase was observed at below 1 GPa and the absence of discontinuity in the lattice constants and zero volume change are indicative of a second order transition and the pressure dependence of the spontaneous strain indicates a transition pressure of 0.3 GPa.

TL;DR: In this article, the mineralogical composition of Fe bog ores has been examined and differential thermal analysis revealed an endothermic reaction much lower than that of both lepidocrocite and goethite.
Abstract: The mineralogical composition of Fe bog ores has been examined. Differential thermal analysis revealed an endothermic reaction much lower than that of both lepidocrocite and goethite, but X-ray analysis gave the pattern of goethite. The Mn bog ores were shown by the aid of differential thermal analysis to consist of hydrated compounds. X-ray analysis revealed the presence of delta-MnO2, and of manganous manganite in one sample.

TL;DR: In this article, surface oxidation of thin foils of NiMn alloy has been studied by transmission electron microscopy and electron diffraction, and the surface was oxidized during bombardment with 50 keV protons at a residual pressure of 5 × 10 −6 Torr at room temperature.

TL;DR: In this article, a fiber-type potassium-based cathode material is developed for use in sodium ion battery without using any binder and conductive agents, which exhibits its porous sponge-like morphology, in which the earth abundant elements of K, Mn, and O are uniformly distributed.
