A New Adaptive Equalization with No Guard Time of OFDM

01 Jan 2002-
TL;DR: In this article, a method of equalization of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signal is described, where the length of cyclic prefix is larger than the delay spread of transmission channel, and a simple frequency equalizer to demodulate OFDM signal is proposed.
Abstract: In this paper,a method of equalization of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signal is described. If the length of its cyclic prefix is larger than the delay spread of transmission channel,we can get a simple frequency equalizer to demodulate OFDM signal. However, the use of cyclic prefix degrades the efficiency of transmission greatly. For this,we give a new equalizing structure, which improves the efficiency of transmission of OFDM system. And this method is examined by computer and good characteristics are confirmed.

TL;DR: An iterative interference cancellation algorithm is presented which eliminates the sub-carrier interference of short CP-OFDM system and its system efficiency is improved and the system performance loss is little.
Abstract: Combined with the matrix expression of OFDM system, a joint channel estimation and detection algorithm for short Cyclic Prefix (CP) OFDM system is proposed The proposed algorithm uses the predicted channel response and last detected data symbol provided by the WLMS algorithm to remove the interblock interference (IBI) At the same time, to reduce the complexity of the proposed algorithm, we present an iterative interference cancellation algorithm which eliminates the sub-carrier interference of short CP-OFDM system The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves its reliable channel estimation and data detection Compared with long CP-OFDM systems, the system efficiency is improved and the system performance loss is little
