A new approach to invisible water marking of color images using alpha blending

AbstractDevelopment of computer networking generates many benefits in cyber world. Due to this great advancement, nowadays networking facilities are available at very low cost. But unfortunately this easy access becomes a threat to information security. Watermarking is a technique that is very often used in image processing to trace copyrighted products. It can also be used to trace products which are illegally distributed without permission. In our research work, a new technique for invisible watermarking of images using alpha blending has been proposed. Alpha blending is used to display an alpha bitmap and an alpha bitmap is that one which has transparent and semi-transparent pixels. We have worked on color image and gray scale image. Gray scale image is used as watermark image which is kept hidden in the main scale image by different values of alpha in alpha blending method. This technique is actually done on each plane of the color image. The resulting image contains the information of color image and gray scale images but the main image is unseen to others. PSNR values are also calculated to check the robustness of the reconstructed image. Applying some post-processing work, this can be used in image steganography also.

Abstract: Hiding data in an image become a very successful technique to communicate with end users, blinding the interpreter’s intention. Various algorithms have been analyzed on the basis of masking the content within the coordinates of the images or in the color of the images used. Few advanced developed complex algorithms to hide the content in the values of the colors to ensure or guarantee robustness of the data hidden. In this research, a simple technique called alpha blending is used to hide the data in an image and its impact is analyzed for different alpha values. The unavoidable impact of noise on the transmitted carrier image was formulated and studied by many researchers using various available algorithms. In this regard: the same is analyzed using alpha blending in thermal images.

Abstract: In this paper a digital image watermarking based on 3 level discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is presented & compare it with 1 & 2 levels DWT. In this technique a multi-bit watermark is embedded into the low frequency sub-band of a cover image by using alpha blending technique. During embedding, watermark image is dispersed within the original image depending upon the scaling factor of alpha blending technique. Extraction of the watermark image is done by using same scaling factor as for embedding. Performance of method for different value of scaling factor is analyses & compare with 1& 2 levels DWT method by using statistical parameters such as peaksignal-to-noise-ratio (PSNR) and mean square error (MSE).Keywords: List four to six keywords which characterize the article. Abstract: Digital watermarking is one of the most powerful tools used in ownership and copyrights protection in digital media. This paper presents a blind digital video watermarking technique based on a combination scheme between the Discrete Wavelet transform in (DWT) and the real Schur Decomposition. The scheme starts with applying two-level DWT to the video scene followed by Schur decomposition in which the binary watermark bits are embedded in the resultant block upper triangular matrix. The proposed technique shows high efficiency due to the use of Schur decomposition which requires fewer computations compared to other transforms. The imperceptibility of the scheme is also very high due to the use of DWT transform; therefore, no visual distortion is noticed in the watermarked video after embedding. Furthermore, the technique proves to be robust against set of standard attacks like: Gaussian, salt and pepper and rotation and some video attacks such as: frame dropping, cropping and averaging. Both capacity and blindness features are also considered and achieved in this technique.

Abstract: A watermarking technique based on the frequency domain is presented in this paper. The one of the basic demands for the robustness in the watermarking mechanism should be able to dispute the JPEG attack since the JPEG is a usually file format for transmitting the digital content on the network. Thus, the proposed algorithm can used to resist the JPEG attach and avoid the some weaknesses of JPEG quantification. And, the information of the original host image and watermark are not needed in the extracting process. In addition, two important but conflicting parameters are adopted to trade-off the qualities between the watermarked image and the retrieve watermark. The experimental results have demonstrated that the proposed scheme has satisfied the basic requirements of watermarking such as robustness and imperceptible.
