TLDR
In this paper, the Einstein equations with quantum one-loop contributions of conformally covariant matter fields are shown to admit a class of nonsingular isotropic homogeneous solutions that correspond to a picture of the universe being initially in the most symmetric (de Sitter) state.

Planck 2015 results - XIII. Cosmological parameters

Peter A. R. Ade, +337 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a cosmological analysis based on full-mission Planck observations of temperature and polarization anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamics of dark energy

TL;DR: In this article, the authors review the observational evidence for the current accelerated expansion of the universe and present a number of dark energy models in addition to the conventional cosmological constant, paying particular attention to scalar field models such as quintessence, K-essence and tachyon.

f ( R ) theories of gravity

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a review of the most important aspects of the different classes of modified gravity theories, including higher-order curvature invariants and metric affine.

Modified Gravity and Cosmology

TL;DR: A comprehensive survey of recent work on modified theories of gravity and their cosmological consequences can be found in this article, where the authors provide a reference tool for researchers and students in cosmology and gravitational physics, as well as a selfcontained, comprehensive and up-to-date introduction to the subject as a whole.

Planck 2015 results. XX. Constraints on inflation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on the implications for cosmic inflation of the 2018 Release of the Planck CMB anisotropy measurements, which are fully consistent with the two previous Planck cosmological releases, but have smaller uncertainties thanks to improvements in the characterization of polarization at low and high multipoles.

Energy Momentum Tensor of a Massless Scalar Quantum Field in a Robertson-Walker Universe

TL;DR: In this paper, the point-split stress tensor of a conformally invariant scalar field in a spatially flat Robertson-Walker geometry is derived from the short-distance behavior of the corresponding operator products evaluated at separated points.

Singularity avoidance and quantum conformal anomalies

TL;DR: In this paper, it was pointed out that the presence of anomalous trace in the stress tensors for quantum fields leads quite generally to the dominance of quantum vacuum effects at sufficiently early cosmological epochs.
