Addition of new functionality ‘Glacial initiates’ to the GCM based on resistive sensor

Abstract: This paper deals with the addition of new functionality named as Glacial Initiate to the genset control module (GCM). This Glacial Initiate is for protection of engine from friction and to stop the failure of turbocharger And also to increases the throughput and performance of the genset. New Glacial Initiate acts as a support for the genset which in turn increase the life of the genset. To one of the connectors of the controller on engine side the air temperature sensor is attached which sense the ambient temperature. For the black box testing we have used potentiometer as a variable temperature sensor. A MATLAB/Simulink model is designed for simulating the actual working of the new Glacial initiates functionality.

Abstract: Neural network architectures are proposed to model and control the spark-ignition (SI) engine idle speed. Static and dynamic multilayer neural networks are used to develop plant models and plant inverse function models. A neural network is trained to learn the system's input-output relationship. Another is trained to model the inverse relationship of the plant and is included in the controller. The developed controller, in series with appropriate filters, is then used to control the throttle angle and the spark advance angle control signals to track a desired speed and pressure of the engine. The paper demonstrates how computationally inexpensive neural networks can effectively learn online both the modeling and control tasks for this nonlinear, dynamical and complex process.
