Analysis of illumination properties of LED sources used in Li-Fi communication

Abstract: In this proceeding, sources used in Li-fi communication systems, generally, LEDs are analysed in terms of illumination parameters. This is an important area of research since apart from communication aspect the sources and detector characteristics will ensure seamless communication between the transmitter and receiver. Simulations are provided for proposed Li-fi communication system and results are analysed in terms of suitable detectors.

Abstract: This paper extensively reviews and analyses Light Fidelity (LiFi), a new technology that uses light to transmit data as a high-speed wireless connection system from a wide spectrum of domains. An in-depth analysis and classifications of pertinent research areas for LiFi networks are presented in this paper. The various aspects constituting this paper include a detailed literature review, proposed classifications, and statistics, which further is deliberated to encompass applications, system architecture, system components, advantages, and disadvantages. LiFi and other technologies are compared, multi-user access techniques used in LiFi networks are investigated and open issues are addressed in detail. The paper is concluded with a comprehensive taxonomy of literature comparison that has served as the basis of the proposed open issues and research trends.

Abstract: Visible Light Communication (VLC) has gained great interest in the last decade due to the rapid developments in Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) fabrication. Efficiency, durability and long life span of LEDs make them a promising residential lighting equipment as well as an alternative cheap and fast data transfer equipment. Appliance of visual light in data communication by means of LEDs has been densely searched in academia. In this paper, we explore the fundamentals and challenges of indoor VLC systems. Basics of optical transmission such as transmitter, receiver, and links are investigated. Moreover, characteristics of channel models in indoor VLC systems are identified and theoretical details about channel modelling are presented in detail.

Abstract: Li-Fi stands for Light-Fidelity, for the fast increasing gadgets and to improve more effective use of lights a new technology is developed which is calledLIFI. Li-Fi is a modern technology which is used in progression with WIFI technology. LIFI uses LED lights which helps in faster and flexible data transfer transmitted through Wi-Fi. As light is everywhere, using light as the transmission medium Li-Fi can provide wireless indoor communication. The data transfer through LIFI is in bits and is much faster than Wi-Fi. Dr. Herald Haas, the professor of mobile communications at the University of Edinburgh, UK, first time publically displayed the proof of Light Fidelity (Li-Fi), a method of Visible Light communication (VLC). Li-Fi is the transfer of data through light by taking fiber out of fiber optics and sending data through LED light. Keywords-Li-Fi, Wi-Fi, LED Lights, Wireless, VLC, Bits and Fiber optics.
